Hired West Side Electric to add outlets and lights to our home office. West Side sent electrician to house who did not complete work (invoiced us $195). West Side sent second electrician to house, who also did not complete work (invoiced us $560). Still zero outlets and zero lights installed, job site left in condition pictured. Electrician stated home is now subject to municipal inspection, refused to allow look at paperwork he was holding/reading from. Requested at that point West Side Electric not return. Wired office light by ourselves in 2 hours, works fine (thanks YouTube). Can’t make this stuff up.

As a realtor, I recommend West Side Electric to all of my clients needing electrical work, as they are very communicative and do high-quality at a competitive price. This project for my home involved installing an underground electrical conduit for an electric post in our backyard as part of an exterior renovation project. They also installed rewired the front porch wiring assembly as part of a porch rebuild, and, finally, installed all new sconces around our home. I would definitely recommend West Side Electric to anyone needing electrical contracting services! This involved several visits, and they were always quick to respond and make things right. I would highly recommend Ranieri Plumbing for a job like this, as well as any other plumbing project.

The work was performed in one day by two electricians (Cameron and Kyle) from West Side Electric Company. Various tasks were completed in a highly professional and proficient manner. As the work progressed, the few questions or concerns I had about it were fully addressed to my satisfaction. When the work was completed, my wife and I were very impressed with the final product. I would hire this company again if and when electrician expertise is required.

West Side were recommended as a subcontractor to complete electrical work in a kitchen. We were switching from an electric range to a dual fuel and needed the outlets changed and moved around. West Side arrived promptly and the electrician did this phase of the job well and essentially to estimate. While doing the job I asked the electrician to take a look at a Sauna that had been tripping and give me an estimate on repair. He took a look and said the circuit breaker was corroded and replaced it with a new one. The Sauna was fixed and began to work. A few hours after the job was completed, I received a call to say that the sauna actually needed a GFI breaker and that he would come back in a couple of days to put the correct one in. He did, while I was at work, and as soon as he did, the sauna tripped immediately. I received a bill with an additional $260 for the sauna fix including labor time for the second visit even though it was apparently a visit to rectify an error. I also discovered that a permit had been taken out for the other work with the City of Portland when I received the bill. The company had not informed me of this so I could arrange inspection, or arranged inspection themselves. They did however mark the permit up from $125 to $182..... I called the company and they were responsive and had the electrician come out again to look at the issue. Unfortunately he just tried to tell me the issue was with the sauna heater and not the breaker. He neither looked at the UL information in the manual, or looked at the unit itself. I then started to do my own research (I'm no electrician so was deferring to the professional until now). The manual for the appliance stated in bold that a GFI breaker should never be used with the sauna heater. I called the manufacturer's tech team to confirm. I then called the electrician back on his cell phone to let him know that there was indeed a mistake that had been made. He told me it was his day off and to call the office. I called Glen at the office and he promised to call the manufacturer, Finlandia and get back to me. I never heard back, but did receive another bill for payment from the company. The city inspector came out to inspect the kitchen work (an electrician by trade himself) and said it was unprofessional that they had not at least informed me that an open permit had been left on the job, and that the sauna was indeed fixed incorrectly. I then received a voicemail from a lady at the office asking why my bill was overdue. I returned her call the same afternoon letting her know when I would be available to discuss the issue on her voicemail. I never received a call back. At this point I lost faith in the company. I hired Frahler electric. They came out, replaced the GFI with a regular 40 AMP breaker in 10 mins and the sauna worked immediately. This whole issue could have been resolved if West Side had actually bothered to listen to me or been responsive. I docked the sauna work and permit mark up from the bill and paid them for the remaining work that had been completed properly. They did respond with a call to say they had accepted my payment and had written the remaining part of the invoice off. They apparently have a good overall reputation, but I can't help feeling that they dropped the ball on this one and were very unresponsive in trying to resolve the problem. I didn't pick this company in the first place and would not use them again.

We were concerned that the problem was related to some light fixtures that had previously been installed by Westside Electric, but it was completely unrelated. They squeezed us in the same day I called, and we really appreciated that. The electrician was initially puzzled by the readings that he was getting from the outlets in the room. He went down to the panel and removed the cover to see what he could find. He found a loose screw in the panel that was causing all the problems. Easy fix!
Description of Work: Our lights had been flickering and then power in the whole room eventually went out.

It went awesome! Mark J. arrived promptly and immediately went to work, putting together my pre-purchased ceiling fan and then dismantling my prior fan. He was super - answered any and all questions that I had, he was very knowledgeable and knew what he was doing. In regards to my outbuilding, he quickly identified the power breaker/source so that we could turn off power for future construction. Thank you Mark J.! My costs were for three hours of service plus a permitted minor labor. $130 for the first hour (includes travel time to site) then $110 per additional hour. Minor label permit was $45.
Description of Work: I needed a ceiling fan replaced and not many electricians were willing to take time to do this "small job". I also asked the electrician, Mark J., to look at electrical wiring to an outbuilding that had been damaged - to determine how to turn the power off.

The folks at West Side electric went beyond my expectation and were able to come out very quickly to replace several outdoor outlet covers for a permitted deck project to satisfy the county's inspector report so that the project would pass the scheduled final inspection. Not only were the outlet covers replaced promptly, but the electrician also detected and solved a dangerous previously undetected problem regarding the wiring on the outlets. The electrician was very professional, knowledgable, honest, hardworking and thorough! As a general contractor I know it was very difficult to come out on such short notice and offer such fantastic service. I would highly recommend them. Impressive A+ service

I will use this company again and would recommend them to others. My only wish was that they would have come out to look at the project before the work was scheduled instead of pushing me to just send pictures and talk on the phone. Once the electrician got here we realized that the inspection on my new house missed several problem areas, so a moderate job turned into a much bigger job. However through the whole process the electrician took the time to explain my options and the pros and cons of each option, then the project manager that I had spoken to on the phone called me to also answer my questions and to clarify that I did not have to do the most expensive option presented to me. I will use this company again due to their clear communication and their willingness to work with me and make sure I am clear about what was happening. They did quality work and even took extra time (for free) to help me fix an small electrical problem I created.

Contacted them through Angie's List contact service requesting a bid for electrical work but did not hear back. I called them to convey this, and the woman who answered said she didn't know anything about Angie's List but that she'd put me through to the voicemail of the person scheduling appointments, etc. I left a message but still did not hear back. Perhaps they are too busy, but a simple response to my contact would have been appreciated and professional.

hirDevan Quickly test two GFI's and then tackled the LV lighting that a transformer tap that had shorted due to a underground splice. He first went to the crawl space and tested the junction box for any faulty connections. He then suggested the nearest splice to the transformer was probably where the problem was, he was correct. His knowledge to quickly assess was a money saver to this homeowner. It was his third visit to our home in as many years, excellent craftsman.

I was referred to this company by Tesla for installation of home charging equipment at my new home. After flying in from out of town to meet Aaron the estimator he called an hour before our appointment and said he just needed a few pictures to prepare the bid. OK, no problem. Later that evening Aaron decided he needed more info but of course I had already left town. We set up another appointment and I again flew into town. He arrived about 45 minutes late and conducted his survey. I ended up going with another company that had more respect for my time and did what they said they would do when they said they would do it. I can't comment on the quality of Wise's work since I didn't use them but I don't think I'll be using them on any future projects.

I scheduled the estimate and had to call back the night before to let them know I had a tight schedule that next day and would only be able to be meet with the estimator for 30 minutes. They left the message for Aaron and he called me early the morning to confirm the time. He was punctual, very professional and courteous. He made some suggestions to my lighting plan for which I was grateful and walked me through can light and light bulb options. He made suggestions on how we could demolish the 1970's 8' x5' wooden box that housed the fluorescent tubes and noted in the bid exactly what they would do and what I was responsible for. When we were done, he looked at his watch and said we'd timed it perfectly and he was out the door. Very nice. I received the bid via email and the price was a little better than a competitor who hadn't even bothered to come out - did their bid over the phone and had me email them pictures of the old lightbox. it wasn't just price that made me choose West Sice, it was that they picked up the phone when I called (the other went to an answering service at 9am on a Tuesday) and came out to the house for my 'small' project. I called the office to schedule, gave them 50% down and signed and faxed back the accepted bid and they called me a couple hours after that to schedule it and said Jason would be at my home 8am the following Monday. He was there 5 minutes early. Nice guy - very courteous and professional. We talked placement of the lights and when he had all the spots marked with paper circles taped to the ceiling he called me down and I decided I wanted an additional light so he had it delivered. He hung plastic in the kitchen doorways to contain the dust for which I'm very grateful because there was sheet rock dust on EVERYTHING in the kitchen. The work took about 4 hours, as the bid had indicated, and Jason cleaned up the floor and removed all his debris. The office will be sending me an invoice for the remaining balance and I'm very pleased with West Side Electric's work. Will definitely use them again if necessary.

We had called another highly touted Angie's list provider first and never got a return call. We called West Side Electrical and they were able to come out just about next day. They were punctual, professional and polite. My wife was home when the work occurred and she explained what we were looking for. West Side did a great job installing the new larger bathroom ceiling fan, moving the location of the vanity light to be center over our sink and in a very difficult spot for a do-it yourselfer (awkward stud location), installing the light and cleaning up a few things. We were going to have an electrical outlet moved because we were concerned it was too close to the new sink to be to code but he assured us it was fine and to code. So he was honest and actually turned down unnecessary work. we really appreciated their good work, timeliness, and professionalism. would work with again.
