The Wall removed my old retaining wall (65') and built the most beautiful retaining wall in its place. They were positive and professional and I did not have to worry about a thing. It was a huge job and Brandon who did the work was very positive, hard working, and confident. He answered any questions that I had. I was so amazed at the quality of his work and when I saw the finished product I was overjoyed to say the least. It truly turned out better that I ever imagined it would, and it is absolutely perfect!! My neighbors have also commented on the great job and how wonderful the retaining wall looks. I am so pleased that I had to share this and I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs this type of work done to their home or business! I appreciated a positive attitude as well. Thank you Brandon and everyone at "The Wall" !!

We have a back yard that was nothing but a giant mudslide. Jake from The Wall built this awesome retaining wall with drainage that helped us have an actual yard again! They were prompt and professional from the first appointment to the final product. They also did the work during a horrible rainstorm without complaint and were done on time. We definitely recommend them! We had interviewed 5 other companies, and this was by far the best! The end result speaks for itself.

We contacted The Wall in late July, 2015 and Rick, the owner, came out to survey the project and give us a bid. We were told that they had several projects in the pipeline and would most likely be late August before they could get our job started. We were contacted in late August with a start date the week of Sept. 7th. Chris, the project manager, came out and laid out the plans for the forms, landings, etc. One caveatt was that they had to form up against boulders lining one side of the walk and maintain a 3 ft. wide step top to bottom with 1/4" drop in each step for proper drainage. A daunting task. After the forms were built, but before pouring started, we called Chris back out with questions about the visual effect. He explained why they had to do certain things to work with the lay of the land and asssured us we would be pleased. The day the concrete truck arrived it was a treat to see The Wall crew do their magic. They worked together like a well oiled machine moving steadily from top to bottom. Chris was in his General Patton mode working the concrete himself as well as overseeing what everyone was doing. We were most pleased with the personell, the work, and the final product. We will use them again when a retaining wall in the back is to be replaced. Sincerely, Bill and Sharon Lamberth
Description of Work: They removed rotted crosstie steps from the street below the house up to the house (approximately 23 steps and elevation gain of 15-20 feet). The strip was re-graded and formed up for new concrete steps with 5 landings.

Jake and his crew did an amazing job of repairing damage my neighbor did to my retaining wall. They were prompt, friendly, professional and so skilled that they managed to make the wall look good as new - no one can even tell where the repair was done. This is a GREAT company and they really take care of their customers!

Rick, (the owner) performed the inspection and bid process. We discussed the expansion we wanted done and gave information on both pavers and concrete. After talking extensively with Rick, we decided to have them pour concrete, color the surface, and stamp a pattern on the top. One concern we had was with cracking. Rick assured us that it is very rare for cracking to occur right away but that it could happen over time. He also explained how the product they used would 'hold' the pad together even if there were cracks that formed over time. The project did not start well. On the start date we were told, no one showed up. When we contacted the job foreman, Chris, it was explained that the job was 'scheduled for the week of this date' not this specific date. He also stated they would be out on Thursday to start. So on that Thursday they began the project. Only they were not clearing the ground away to accommodate for the step and had changed the plan to be a simple slab. We literally had to stop them and contact Rick to have the situation clarified. In the meantime the crew had dumped a large amount of gravel in the middle of our driveway, which they left until Monday when they would re-start this project. This created a problem for us to remove our vehicle from the garage. No one on the crew or Chris addressed this before they left. On Monday, Chris was rude and stand offish. We were very disappointed in the customer service. We questions whether or not the concrete should be poured on a 90+ degree day, Chris assured us it was 'no problem'. When quizzed about increased risk of cracking, we were told "no, it wouldn't. When asked if the concrete should be covered with plastic as to not dry too fast, we were also told 'no it wasn't needed'. The coloration process is very messy, which we had been told about, we were also told the crew would pressure wash the side of the house and thoroughly clean up after the whole process was complete. When the concrete had been poured, colored, and stamped the crew left. The side of the house was covered in the powder used to color the concrete but we knew they had said this would be 'cleaned up and pressure washed'. The driveway was a disaster from the remnants of the gravel mix they used and did not sweep or wash up. So far we were disappointed, but we were looking forward to our new beautiful porch. 24 hours after the pour we noticed what appeared to be a crack. We examined the porch it closer and found several more cracks (5 total). All of which run from the house to the edge of the porch. We contacted Rick, who we requested to come out and inspect this. He reluctantly did. His response was lack luster at best. He said, 'yes, it did crack, but concrete cracks." When we reminded him of our conversation about time and cracks he said nothing. When we asked about repairs we were told the stamped colored concrete cannot have cracks repaired. (Something we were not aware of at the beginning). He assured us the cracks were not structurally issues and would not be noticeable when the patio was in use with furniture and chairs. He also stated the cracks would not be very visible once the clear coat was applied. Neither of these statements are true. Every person who has seen our porch notices those cracks without us stating anything about them. The clear coat process was a mess too. There is over-spray on the siding of the house and will not come off. The 'pressure washing' was a joke. There was dust left all over the porch side of the house. Additionally, where the crew used a water spigot at the side of the house, there are colored hand prints from where they leaned up against the house to steady themselves. Rick offered not discount or any offer of compensation for the many cracks that occurred immediately. While he was pleasant to deal with, and informative on many aspects, his crew left a lot to be desired. Chris was fake and eventually rude. We have been informed by contractors that pouring concrete in the extreme temperatures we had that week require extra care so that cracks do not form. It is clear Chris was not concerned about this aspect for our job. We have seen other work that The Wall has done. They were known for beautiful quality work. And they charge the price for the quality and beauty. But for us, while our porch functions it's beauty is marred by the lack of care from the job foreman Chris and the quality is not what we expected from The Wall. We would use The Wall again, but only knowing what we know now and how to structure the contract and job so that these issues would not occur again.

What a great group of people to work with from start to finish. I am completely satisfied with the work that was done at our house and we are planning to use them at my daughters house soon. They removed an old rotten deck and built a new retaining wall at our home. It looks great! Scheduling the work was easy and the crew of workers were very professional from start to finish. I have all positive things to say about this company.

I have a backyard project that I started with another contractor. The quality thus far is good, but the original planning was not very thorough which led to many cost overruns. I quit working with that contractor and called The Wall to come take a look at the project and give me some ideas on how to proceed. Prior to Rick?s visit I emailed the company some details about the project with some pictures. Rick had initially, and very briefly came out to bid my project a while back before it ever started. I decided not to go with them because he seemed uninterested in my project and dismissive. This time Rick came out, after reviewing the email I had sent, and was very condescending about the lack of a solid plan for the project, which is precisely what I?m trying to have done along with the construction. He was very arrogant and had an annoyed tone to his voice, like I was wasting his time. If he didn?t want the work he shouldn?t have come out and wasted my time, but maybe he just gets off on telling people ?I told you so?. My project is fairly complicated for a small backyard. It included concrete, masonry, plumbing and gas for outdoor kitchen, gas for fire pit, etc... If you lack the knowledge of a contractor, you have a complicated project, and you want to work with people who can help you and explain to you what services they can provide to help you complete project then skip these guys. If you know that you need a retaining wall with dimensions X by Y, or pavers in this simple square space then getting a bid from the wall might not be a total waste of your time. Then again working with Rick probably isn?t worth it even for that.

Crew of three came early and proceeded to remove existing structure, dug a foundation ditch and built up a new wall. Initially, the wrong type of material had begun to be unloaded but the switch to my chosen material was immediately done and delivered in a timely manner. I appreciated the crew's care to avoid making every effort not to damage plants. They were fast, efficient and courteous, and took time to answer my questions. I am delighted with the result of their work and recommend them 100%.

They were very professional. They worked with some contractors that I knew which to me was a good sign. They had done a lot of local jobs which I had seen in person which is also a recommendation in my own mind. They have not done any work for me. I'm still working on that project so nothing has happened since then. It was fine. I don't have any other estimates to compare it to.

The Wall, came, gave estimate, then performed wonders. Took lots of time,, but there was a lot to do. The removed chunks, ground down parts, filled in and restore it to a stable,, smooth wall again. They were prompt and attentive all the way around and did all they promised for the estimated cost. No surprises...except how painless and professional they were.

The Wall removed a 100 year old concrete retaining wall and concrete steps that were crumbling and falling into the sidewalk. Replaced with Manor Stone blocks, replaced concrete stairs and poured concrete walkway to our front door. They hauled away all the debris, patched some broken sections of our sidewalk and the work was completed within 4 days. We scheduled the work late in the summer and they offered to wait and complete the project in December when we could pay an out-of-season price. The communication was great from The Wall, giving us updated bids when we added the concrete walkway, and they came out to double check on the project about a week before they started, and updated us throughout the entire project on the progress. The crew was super friendly and professional, everything was swept and pressure washed off the sidewalk every evening, we couldn't be happier with the work! We had put off this project for years because we were afraid of the cost and the time it would take to complete it. Even though The Wall was on the higher side of our budget, the work was stellar and we are so happy we chose them to do the work. We have received tons of compliments from the neighborhood and we recommend their work to anyone who asks. Thank you!

The Wall crew showed up as scheduled and performed the work with no delays. There was a lot of material involved, block and fill material, and it all needed to transported up a hill with a walk behind bobcat. This was a messy process, but the crew cleaned up the driveway and walks every day before leaving. First Class. This was the third time I used The Wall in the last 10 years, they have always exceeded my expectations. Use The Wall with confidence.

I couldn't say enough about the flexibility and the bending over backwards the WALL did for us on this project! We used a different contractor for the excavation portion of the project and the timelines slipped a few times but the WALL was very accommodating and worked well with the other contractor. Dave and Alex were our stone masons. They know what they are doing! It was so nice to not worry one bit about the quality of this project. In fact we liked their work so well, we asked them to extend one of the retaining walls another 12 feet. All I ever heard from this company was Yes, sure, we would be happy to make that work. We are very very happy with the work the WALL provided and would definitely recommend them.

The project could not have gone more smoothly and efficiently. From start to finish this was a most satisfying experience. I needed help with the design and found their website with the many photographs of their work extremely helpful. I was able to choose a design but needed a little help choosing the best colors. They showed great patience with me while I went back and forth on color choice. The truth is I had already seen some of their work around town and loved it, so I was prepared from the start to choose them to do the job. However, I did get two additional bids before deciding on The Wall. Neither of these companies had websites so I wasn't able to see their finished projects. Both bids were lower but I didn't know what I would be getting. The Wall has a great reputation and it's easy to see why. The workers were happy and friendly. They made me feel I could ask anything and they were good at explaining. The work site was kept tidy from day to day. The wall is beautiful?and SOLID. And the driveway? I didn't know it could look so good and I just asked them to do that it at the end because I was so pleased with their work on the wall. The work exceeded my expectations in all ways. Thanks guys; you were a great team and nice to have around. P.S. My wife wrote everything above?and I couldn't agree more.

We spent $5000 on their last job. It went pretty good. It looks nice and everything but there was one part I kind of wished thy had finished. They stuck a part to the wall incorrectly and it looks kind of funny. It's not a huge deal. There is a line on the wall and they really shouldn't have left it that way.

The $4500 bid was shocking in that it was $700 to $1200 higher than any of the other four bids I received for exactly the same work. Not only that, I found Rick to be arrogant and dismissive of my little project. He also spent the least amount of time discussing the project with me compared to the other companies I spoke with. He seemed in a big hurry to get out of here so it did not surprise me that he got my email address wrong (which caused a delay in getting the bid to me)... just too aloof to spend the time to get it right? He also made a big deal out of telling me that because my patio design is curved, rather than squared off, it would cost more. None of the other companies even questioned the curves since that was simply the design they had to work with. Of course there would be more cutting to do! Duh. In the future, if a project is simply too small for his company, or The Wall does't like cutting around curves and does't want to do the job, Rick should say so rather than waste the time of those seeking a bid.

Really sorry [member name removed] feels this way, i thought we had a good conversation about her project and the details. I sent her the proposal by email within a week of my visit and gave her three price options. i mentioned to her that a poured concrete patio would be less than concrete pavers because there will be many cuts for the irregular shape. Hopefully the contractor she chooses understands all the details of the project. It has many challenges to do it correctly. Rick McCutcheon The Wall
