The Floor Store

Purchase of materials was fine. Carpet installation was fine. The hardwood floor installation was, and still is, a disappointment. The installation is shot through with gaps. Some of which were filled with an oil base putty whose color is not really close to that of the floor planks. The major issue though was that the installers failed to quiet squeaks in the subfloor of the whole upper hallway. Nor did they mention it prior to installing new flooring over it. The whole upstairs had to be ripped out and reinstalled. The Floor Store did pay for the rework but the fact that such thoughlessness was demostrated was astounding. The reinstall was performed by their "cleaner" but the nosing and several other spots have the same gaps with the same putty. I would not recommend The Floor Store. We cant be the only ones that have experienced.

This is the second time we have used the Floor Store. Friendly, knowledgeable, and professional sums up everyone we have dealt with. Mike in sales was very helpful, listening to what we wanted and suggesting carpets that would fit our usage. Answered all our questions (there were many) and offered advise as needed. We asked for Shawn and Gretchen to do the install (they did our rental house about 5 years ago) and once again they did a great job. They work well together as a team and got our house done in a timely manner. Everything looks great. Would use the Floor Store again no question about it. Highly recommend them.

PERFECTLY! The oak flooring is beautiful and was installed in 2 days. Installer Brian was a pleasure to have in my home I'm pleased with the price and the expertise in both the choice of material and the installation

No response from these People. It's been a week and no acknowledgement or reply of any kind. Selected someone else and was here within 48 hours to help.

Company did not show up, and when I called to inquire, said they had no record of the appointment.

Melanie from the Floor Store called to say that Javier would be several hours late so he could take his mother to a doctor's appointment. Javier called before he arrived at about noon and he finished the job in about 7 hours. We were not inconvenienced at all and Javier left both rooms very clean.

We have had good luck with them. We are happy. The workers were fine.

Jay was great to work with. He's very knowledgeable about the products and helped us decide to install carpet rather than refinish our hardwood floors. The scheduler set it up perfectly to do the marmo install on Friday and the carpet on Monday. The installers were terrific and worked with us on our home's idiosyncrasies to provide a beautiful remodel. The bathroom base was not as the sample board looked and Hay worked with us on getting the correct product. The flooring installer was on the same crew that installed our kitchen floor 6 yrs ago. The carpet installer helped move our large pieces of furniture and swept each room before installing the pad. The subcontractors they use are trusted because of quality work and The Floor Store will make it right! The flooring was $1,200 of the total and carpet (25 yr product) for 60 sq yds was $3,800.

Jay Potter was knowledgeable and well versed with flooring products. In addition, he was polite and made every effort to provide a seamless project. I will highly recommend the product that was purchased and the service provided. Jane Crist

Service was excellent. Prompt response and flexible schedule. Mario and his partner Marco did an excellent job of laying the tile and their professionalism was extraordinaire. When we had a death in the family and had to reschedule to finish the job, Mario was sympathetic and not only rescheduled to finish the job, but showed up when he said he would. Also, we felt we could trust him and his crew when I had to leave the house unexpectedly to take my wife to the airport. He took pride in his workmanship.

Krystal was extremely helpful in helping me select a carpet that would do well in a bedroom with moisture issues. Floor Store staff advised me to use a particular sealant before carpet was installed. Since this is a second guest room that will have only occasional use, Krystal recommended a less expensive grade of carpet with a top grade pad. The installers were WONDERFUL! The carpet looks great; they even helped me with an unrelated carpet problem in an adjoining hallway. Very pleased with the Floor Store and the work!

The job was handled by a man and his wife. They worked hard all day and did a wonderful job. There were absolutely no issues with the product or their work.

It was a clic flooring so nothing to unusual, it had acclimated in the house for 2+months. I had pointed out areas of the floor to the salesman that I knew would need leveling or some kind of prep. He assured me it was nothing unusual and they did this all time. When they started I saw they were working out of one box at a time. I told them the instructions clearly say to mix boxes.They insisted no it wasn?t necessary and even though they came back and fixed one of the really bad places you can see it?s actually more than helpful to follow the instructions. What we found with the patch they did do was pulling up the floor and putting it back down leaves seams which are bigger. It just doesn?t go together the same way the second time around. Problems: a mix between too big of gaps and almost no expansion/contraction gaps, bouncing and height level gaps and general color weirdness as with no mixing of the boxes easy to see where one box ended and new one began. The carpet they sold us has a running thread (which they didn?t inform us about) and I noticed a run had started where the installers put the closet slider door track almost right away. Big gaps along walls. These problems are likely to get worse as it ages already their are bowing up places. I tried to get the store to do a better job and they just referred me to Costco Corporate where I talked with Cameron Smuck, the head of outside sales for flooring. His main concern seemed to be ?were they polite, was their yelling??. Yes I told him they were professional no yelling. I called again complaining and asking for something to be done or for a price adjustment and didn?t have my my phone call returned. The Floor Store had already sent me to them for resolution. If you think about it Costco is not a good place to use for installed items where they just become an additional middle man that needs a cut of the product. And the Floor Store is too busy to do quality work.

My husband and I went to the store to pick out carpet. The salesperson was extremely helpful in finding a carpet that worked within our budget and spent time with us going over several different samples. They came out within a week or so to measure the area and then provided us a quote. We weren't in a hurry, so we scheduled the installation for a few weeks later. Two guys came around 9:30am and were done by 2pm. They were polite and professional, and cleaned up after themselves. The carpet looks fantastic. We would definitely use them again in the future.

This is a great business!! I called around Monday trying to find someone who could do the work quickly and they just happened to have some cancellations open up on Thursday! So I ran over to the store to see what they had in stock and picked out a nice loop carpet and pad. Paco came out that evening on his way home to measure the room and then he and his partner were there on time Thursday morning and installed the carpet in just a few hours. It looks great and the price was even better than Home Depot who couldn't install for another 2 weeks. So happy!

The Floor Store made this a successful buying experience on several levels. First, they showed us carpet products they had available, and in-stock carpet was available at a discount for purchase. Second, they sent out a professional skilled installer of carpet to take measurements. We had a competitor who we decided not to use for this purchase, who had sent out a less skilled carpet measurer by comparison. The Floor Store carpet measurer provided extremely useful information about steps to remove pet stains, etc. Additionally, the Floor Store measurer saved us valuable dollars. Specifically, he skillfully made sure that carpet fragments left over in one location were utilized for installation in other rooms or areas.. Third, the installation of the carpet itself was quickly and professionally done in two days by a team of three persons. And the Floor Store scheduled the installation promptly after the carpet measurement. Finally, the contract paperwork provided us detailed information about our rights in the contract negotiation process. And the completed work was done for slightly less than Floor Store contract bid amount. All in all a very satisfactory experience.

The floor is beautiful and meticulously laid. They also helped me find an asbestos abatement contractor to take out the old floor that was lurking under the rug, and also gave me the name of a company that would move the pool table out. They coordinated with those two companies and with my painter, and explained to me what I should do first, second, third, etc. They were pleasant and easy to work with and had a large selection of flooring to choose from. I would definitely use them again.

It was excellent and a great experience. Micah Watts and his crew went the extra mile to recommend and provide the right product for use in replacing a linoleum sheet floor that had to have been the original floor in this specific area of the house since the house was constructed. There was no upselling involved in the flooring sales process and the installation crew not only did an excellent job in workmanship, but were timely on arrival and did some extra unexpected work for which there was no extra charge. I would highly recommend Micah, his company and installation crew for any type of flooring and installation.

They arrive on time, the installers even sealed some areas on the sub floor that might have had some old cat urine stain.

The Floor Store came in at not only the best price, they were also willing to do the most work. We needed our bathroom floor replaced, included the plywood underlay, and we also wanted a small wall repair to be done. Other companies wouldn't do the wall repair, didn't include the underlay in their estimates, and refused to do the wall repair. And their prices were still higher! The Floor Store gave us a great estimate, scheduled quickly, and sent out 2 very nice people to do the floor. They were done in 4 hours, and the floor looks beautiful! We would definitely recommend them and use them again.

Overall a very smooth and satisfying experience. They were very nice and easy to work with. I picked out my favorites at their store, they sent me home with samples so that I could spend a few days looking at them with my cupboards and appliances. My chosen style took longer than expected to be put in due to an unforeseen backorder, totally not their fault and not a real problem at all. My only complaint was that demo-ing my old tile floor created so much more dust than I anticipated, every surface in the vicinity, even vertical surfaces, were covered... it's been a month and I am still cleaning up. Next time I have a floor done I will know better and cover everything. I would totally recommend the Floor Store and will gladly chose them again for future flooring projects.

I went there planning to replace about 375 square feet of laminate flooring whose seams were giving out. I had already shopped and knew exactly what brand and model line I wanted. Jay Potter gave me a price on the laminate (which included discounts for cash or check and for Angie's List membership) that was competitive with the price I had gotten from a wholesaler. Only when I asked him if I was missing any possibilities did he show me the Starloc Luxury Vinyl Plank as an option. I researched it online, and decided to use it. Turns out I was able to float it over the existing laminate for a lot less money and a fraction of the work when compared to my original plan. He even loaned me the 100 pound roller that was required to install this flooring, without any time pressure to return it. I'm happy with the flooring and very happy with the no pressure, small-town-like experience. I will definitely return the next time I have any flooring needs.

The installer (contractor I hired through The Floor Store) was punctual and did a nice thorough job. The new carpet looks & feels great!

I first want to say the installers were very professional ,quick and did a very thorough job. The unprofessional stems from Jay Potter the sales person who seems like such a nice guy that one wouldn't expect this kind of treatment. We paid $85.00 to have the old bathroom floors tested for asbestos after my husband had removed them. Once the Floor Store had installed the new marmoleum we verbally were told that the old flooring results were negative for asbestos. I called the a couple weeks later to ask for the actual document of the results rather than just a verbal result after all we had paid for it . My husband was now planning on removing the old flooring in the kitchen and I wanted to see the results myself first hand before he started this new project. I called again and again and again only to have someone pass the messages on to Jay who never NOT ONCE called me back. I actually was able to speak to him once by chance on the phone and I told him "it looks like since you cannot produce the documents it really was never done". "His reply was "oh its in the back desk somewhere under a lot of other papers and I just cannot find it", finally after another week of no returned calls, I finally called him and left a message I was coming in the next day for a credit of $85.00. When I got there his response was "oh you didn't need to come in to do this it could have been handled over the phone". At this moment I just do not know if I would use this company again so I will say yes but Jay Potter.

This was the worst customer service experience I've had in as many years as I can remember. Upon visiting the store, we felt good about the process and were assured we could get the carpet we wanted within our budget and timeline. We scheduled a measuring appointment for a few days later, a Friday. I received a call Friday saying the company car broke down and they would not be able to make it. This was fine, I asked them to come the next day and was told I would get a phone call. After I called them twice the next day, no one showed up to my house. After calling again Monday, I finally got someone out to my house. I have now called my salesperson about 10 times and have not actually spoken to him, only the person answering the phones. He finally called me to give me a quote, which was double the budget we told him when we were in the store, and he said he definitely did not tell us we could stay within our given budget (even though he did). I told him I was having an issue with his communication - it was now 5 days after our initial measuring appointment and I felt like I was begging them to let me spend money in their store - and he was response was a confrontational, "HOW SO?" As I had left him multiple voicemails (with no response) and complained to the person answering the phone, I knew this was no surprise to him. I will say that he did try to source other options for me when I said there was no way we were spending twice our budget, and I believe he put a bit of effort into this. However, the final straw for me was when he called me to tell me about what he found and I started asking questions, he told me he didn't remember what he told me in our conversation 20 minutes prior because he talks to so many people. We had originally stuck with them because we thought they were the only ones who could meet our tight timeline, but after this experience I was ready to go ANYWHERE else. Enter Macadam Floor and Design, who were a dream to work with. They met our needs, budget, and timeline, and got someone to our house to measure the same day. One of the things the salesperson told us at The Floor Store was that you can't find a bad thing about them online, and I do not know how that is true. They were truly a NIGHTMARE to deal with, and I am so glad we did not end up spending money there.
