The arborist returned our call promptly and gave us a bid within three days. The crew was very friendly and cleaned up after the work was done. One neighbor was interested in having a couple trees trimmed and they gave her a bid on the spot and did the work while they were in the area. In what they did for us, they're amazing. They would call and make an appointment. They'll show up and apply the stuff. They actually saved all of our trees. They're awesome to work with. They're always on time with appointments. The after-service was excellent. They're always professional and they have nice equipment.

Excellent. The key to this business is to get a good crew, decide how many people you want with the gear, and then let them work the whole day, because travel is so expensive. You don't want them coming out for two hours with an hour of travel on either end, but we create enough work to keep a crew very busy for an entire work day, and when the cost comes up they did so much per hour. That way you get your work done very, very efficiently and your money's worth. These guys are very skilled. You spend a fair amount of your day watching them and exclaiming, I would never do that. They'll climb up the trees, deciding where to stand and not to stand, how to cut something off and get it down without damaging things underneath. We do this once about every three or four years. It's not inexpensive work, but we got what we paid for. If you're looking for a cheap job, you're gonna get a poor job. They have an arborist come out first, who looks at the work you want to have done. His job is to evaluate the work, decide how many people to put on the crew, and he was very responsive. He came out on Monday after I called on Thursday. And then, fitting it into the schedule, that was within the next 30 days, which I considered to be reasonable for arborists. They said they're gonna start at 9 c'clock, they got there a quarter to 9:00. They left at the end of their business day with everything cleaned up.

I've used this company happily for years. A few years ago, they were bought by a company back east. This year, the service was horrible. The trees were three ft shorter on the left than the right, and butchered. Lost all my privacy from the house behind. To the company's credit, when the estimator saw it, he admitted as much and refunded nearly all my money. The other thing is now the quotes are done by an estimator, whom you can't speak to directly. The office manager will relay messages and the guy will call you back. This caused some hiccups. Breaks my heart to give this company a bad review, but to maintain the integrity of the list...

They were fine. They are local and the staff care about our yard. If we have a request, they come and do it on the dot. I don’t like watering but the trees are healthy as it turned out.

The job was great. It worked out great. They did great work. We've used them actually two or three times. The price was pretty reasonable. They did everything for us. It went very well. We were very happy. They were very responsive.

Davey Tree Experts did a lot of work on our 3.5 acre property. Their work was fine, the problem was that the estimate was misleading. It ended up costing about $6000 more that we thought. A description of each item of work to be done was listed with the total charge for that item. However, for the last item it listed the per day charge for a crew of 3 to trim all the tall trees. We assumed that the $1800 listed next to the description of the item meant that this work was to be done in one day. However on the 2nd page of the estimate it listed 6-7 days. This was supposed to be the amount of time that the crew of 3 would take to finish the trimming. Since it was not under the tree trimming item we thought it meant that the entire job would take 6 -7 days. We found out later that this was just for the tree trimming. They did not have a total for the entire project listed on the estimate. Since all of the other work items were listed with the total charges, any reasonable person would assume that this was the case with that last item. My advice is if you use Davey, make sure that they give you a grand total for all services to be preformed.

They did a good job. They were efficient. They gave me good information about what to do in the future. I would definitely call them again for trees close to the house and clearing out some space. They are respectful about my lifestyle. I am not a big pruner and I would like to leave some vegetation for the animals and the birds. They listen to what I am comfortable with and they work. They don’t try to make more work for themselves. In terms of responsiveness, they came right out.

We have a recurring contract with them. They come out once a year. The price is probably as good as any. Quality good as no bugs. They came out when they were supposed to.
