He was great about coming out and was pleasant to deal with for the estimate, but after that it all broke down. The crew that arrived to do the work appeared inexperienced, and Bill's son--whose arm was in a sling so he couldn't really help--was in charge, trying to tell them what to do. The roof patch seemed okay at the time, but now, two years later, the roof is leaking in exactly the same spot again. In addition, I practically had to beg the guy to pay him. I called more than once and left messages, but only got the bill from him about 4 months later. Just didn't really seem to have his act together.

I am a partner for a real estate investment group that deals with residential new construction and existing properties. We love working with Bill and his crew... this is the third roof they've installed (one house in Milwaukie, one in NE Portland and this garage for the same NE location). On all three projects, they've also installed the rain gutters. While they are a bit of a and quot;shaggyand quot; bunch, their service is quick and punctual, even when I've needed them and quot;TODAYand quot;. New construction seems to always have issues, but if it involved the roof or the gutters, Bill would send out his crew (or his son, Billy) out to resolve any issues right away - - either THAT day or first thing the next morning. Even if I just didn't like a and quot;dentand quot; in the gutters, he had the section replaced quickly and with no questions asked. He obliged me with, and quot;I'll send someone out to look at it this afternoonand quot; and then get it done. This casually-run business is a family-run business and, once I've worked with him on the first job, Bill is a pretty easy guy to get along with. He also offers a lot of knowledge on building codes, design (for roof) and erosion control (for downspouts). All I had to do is ask. He does his job and does it well. The roof materials are quality and the finish that he does over the fascia look superb. Don't expect a crew in fancy uniforms or bright, shiny trucks. They get in. get out and leave behind a quality product. For what it costs, I'd rather have that than pay the price for them to have a fancy company fleet.

It was a father and son and they seemed very competent. I would use them again in the future.

We found the company to be slow, unprofessional as to workmanship, doing the job correctly and showing up as promised. It is very doubtful that this contractor has a clue as to how to properly install flashing. He does not supervise his crew and he does not do the full job with contracts and paperwork.

I called Bill on New Year's Day of '07 and discussed the repair with him. He gave me an estimate, and we agreed that he would come to my house on Jan. 4,'07 and do the repair. He did so and charged the amount he had estimated. Bill was easy to talk to on the phone and in person. He was also informative about the condition of the roof and indicated that, with maintenance, it would probably last for a number of years before needing replacement.

I called Bill with an inquiry about my roof leak in the middle of a heavy wet spell. He said he would try to work in a visit the same day. Bill arrived in a few hours, diagnosed and explained the problem and installed two diverters to repair it. He did his work quickly and commits to returning if the problem still exists.

THE ZINC STRIP ON THE PEAK OF MY ROOF WAS COMING OFF AND HE CAME OUT TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. I HAD FINALLY COLLECTED MOST OF THE ZINC THAT HAD COME OFF THE ROOF AND IT TOOK HIM ONLY ABOUT A HALF HOUR TO DO THE REPAIRS. HE ONLY CHARGED ME $45 TO DO THESE REPAIRS. HE WAS VERY HELPFUL AND WOULD DO ANYTHING I NEEDED. HE GOT THE REPAIRS DONE RIGHT BEFORE IT SNOWED!
