They were reliable and quick to respond whenever I had a query. Their response times whenever I contacted them regarding an issue were lightning fast, and they always had a solution or suggestion that helped. They expertly and swiftly relocated all of my belongings, taking great care to avoid damaging a single item. Great job, everyone!

The team was amazing—they came in and packed up everything, including my kitchen and bedroom, in just a few hours. Even with the short notice, they didn’t rush through anything. Everything made it to my new place safe and sound, and they helped me unpack a few boxes. They saved me a ton of stress!

Smooth Move People truly lives up to its name and my first experience with their movers was enough to convince me about it. Right from the get-go, their movers were professional and serious about the job. They worked twice as hard and didn’t take any breaks. My move wrapped up on schedule and my coordinator gave me a very transparent breakdown of the cost too. Would absolutely hire theirs movers again!

The movers treated every single box as if it was full of precious cargo, and nothing was too much trouble for them. They arranged my furniture exactly as I wanted in the new place.

We are so glad we found Smooth Move People for our move from Portland to Seattle. We contacted a number of moving companies, and prices were outrageous for our two-bedroom apartment (some charged by the item, others by weight). I found Smooth Move People and spoke with Greg when first calling - he provided simple pricing details. They truly have the lowest rates in town. The crew arrived promptly at 7 AM on a Sunday morning. They got to work immediately, and packed everything up efficiently. The truck arrived early afternoon at our new apartment in Seattle, and the crew unloaded everything and placed it in each room. Everything was unloaded so FAST! We were impressed. Overall, I would 100% use Smooth Move People again, and will recommend them to anyone. You cannot beat the rates! Thanks to Greg and the team for making our move to Seattle so easy.

The loaders, Cary and Hans, out of Portland did a very poor job of packing. This was observed by both the driver of the moving company and the people of another moving company that unloaded for us. The loaders swore and scared our neighbors, took more time than necessary to load as they took long breaks as they tired out quickly and just threw many of our items into the truck. We had many damaged items including large book cases, antique furniture and a flat screen television. One of the men who unloaded was hurt as a result of boxes and bookcases just tumbling down. Greg, the owner, (very slick with his knowledge and delivery), responded by telling us it was our fault for not supplying enough blankets. They did not use all the blankets we provided. Nor did they use any of the rope we purchased to secure the load. He blamed the drivers because he said they are not careful in their driving with the load. He also suggested that the people who unloaded were not careful. Both the driver of the moving company and the men who unloaded our belongings were professional and superior in their work. We and they should foot none of the blame.

Whatever you do, DO NOT HIRE smooth move people. I was called to help pack and move a friend after the aforementioned moving company was taking too long. I arrived to see both movers sitting in the truck taking a break. In the hour I was there I packed and moved 1 bedroom, and the storage closet on the balcony while the movers themselves made little to no progress. One of the movers, Hans, took 7 smoke breaks in the hour or so I was there. 7!!! and yes I counted! Hans also proceeded to rudely yell at the customer after she asked that her box of bedding be made available to her that evening. They didn't finish packing her stuff up until after midnight!! She was moving from one apartment to another one in the same complex. After all this she was charged $1,700! Absolutely outrageous. I repeat, DO NOT HIRE this moving company at any cost!

Dishonest and Rude I hired Smooth Move People to pack and move my household items less than two miles. The owner, Greg R., quoted packing/moving labor costs, then demanded more than double that “estimate” after the move. His employees caused more than $1,000 of damage to my property, then he blamed me for not supervising his crew as they loaded the truck. It was more than 10 months before Greg arranged to repair my broken washer and dryer. The “Estimate.” When I first contacted Smooth Move People, I asked Greg how much packing and moving would cost. He asked me how large my home was and whether it was furnished sparsely, average or more than average. After answering his questions, Greg told me that the job would require two men one day to pack, and two men one day to move. He asked me to move all clothing, electronics, artwork and glass table tops. Prior to moving day, I moved those items AND a medium sized U-Haul truck full of property. This significantly reduced the job that Greg’s crew had to do. Two men showed up on packing day, but quit early when they ran out of boxes. (Greg had assured me that they always brought extra boxes to avoid this problem) The next day, two men showed up in one truck which was completely disabled when the front axle broke. Another truck arrived a few hours later. One of the men told me that a third man was coming to help with the move, and that I would not be charged for his time. At 11:30 pm, the man in charge of the move told me that they had not finished moving all my property. He showed me a cellphone picture of my garage full of items, and told me that it would take another three hours to complete the move. (I moved those items myself at a later date). Then, he asked me to pay the Bill of Lading which charged me for their meal break time and the time spent waiting when their truck broke down. When I objected, he reluctantly reduced the charges by two hours. More importantly, he told me that Greg regularly underestimates moving services when a customer calls, then blames his employees when the customer complains. A few weeks later, Greg demanded that I pay the full bill PLUS labor for the third man called to help on moving day. Including these demands, total labor charges for the job would’ve been $2,352. Total labor charges based on Greg’s “estimate” were only $1,160. I later learned what Greg already knew, that a moving estimate is not binding unless the mover has examined the contents of your home. Damages Many items were damaged during the move, but my main concern was getting my washer and dryer repaired. (Both units required expensive control boards).At first, Greg admitted that the appliances were damaged because his men overloaded the truck. But later, he blamed me for not preventing his men from overloading the truck. (I didn’t know that was my job). Six days after the move, I hand delivered a repair estimate for $842 to Greg and asked him to promptly OK the repairs. He refused. Greg insisted that he could find cheaper parts and have his handyman install them. He was angry and frustrated that I would not agree to install the parts myself. Greg would only agree to professional installation if I would cover all labor costs over $100. It took Greg more than 10 months to obtain the parts and arrange for the repairs. And, the washer control board is not under warrantee because of Greg’s decision to go cheap. I had to constantly email Greg asking for progress reports. His replies were angry and incoherent. Several times, he promised to deliver the parts, then failed to do so. I complained to ODOT, but they were no help at all. No, this was not a “smooth move.” Greg lowballed the “estimate.’ Then, his crew left my house a dirty mess and damaged my property. Finally, I had to endure Greg’s excuses and hysterics for ten months while my washer and dryer were broken. I was overcharged AND had to pay for damage that I didn’t cause. I don’t know how this move could’ve been any worse.

√This moving service broke the glass in my sofa table, upper glass and lower glass. they broke the leg on my dresser and then broke the leg or an end table. the movers that were with me gave me a form to fill out and assured me it would be replaced and repaired, I called the owner he began a long litany of how no one ever in all his days ordered $85.00 damage rider on his policy offered to his customers. If you use this man's service be prepared to have you item broken. Be prepared to listen to him tell you he will cover everything. be prepared for the fact that his insurance for $85 covers a small percentage of the repair or replacement cost entailed. The movers are not experienced the owner is hyper and automatically assumes you have a beef with him, before you vou've even gotten past hi. I wonder why this man is so hyperactively defensive. Could it be that he is ripping people off? I would have had better service and fewer broken things had I simply posted an ad on craigslist for moving help.

The job took twice as long as expected. I would not use this service again. One mover wouldn't use the elevator in my building because he was afraid of it. When I complained to the owner of the company, he verbally assaulted me - calling me a liar and screaming at me over the phone. I will NEVER use this company again. They may be the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.

My wife and I have used the services of Smoth Move People twice now and both time have been so grateful for the customer service, professionalism and quality of work with unbeatable pricing. These guys showed up and simply got the job done. I highly recommend!

It was absolutely horrible! I had already moved about 1/4 of the household items and furnishings prior to moving day. They had their own way of doing things and were not receptive to my input on any level. I asked that they make sure that the rubber feet were securely on the the bottom of the electrolux washer pedestal when putting it in the laundry room. They did not check and therefor put 3 huge tears in my vinyl flooring of my utility room and broke the hinge off of the drawer so that it will not stay closed. On a huge bedroom dresser, I asked that a moving blanket be placed under it for the turn at the top of the stairs. It wasn't and the turning of it tore the decorative moulding off of the one end. On another pine armor I asked that the rope not be tied too tight as it was soft wood. He looked at me and pulled it very tight leaving 2 huge dents in the corners of the doors. I asked that special care was used on my deceased mothers entry table. It was not, and there is a HUGE scratch in the top of it. My total gym was not wrapped and the bench has a huge tear in it. When it came time to pay the bill, I realized that the total included an hour lunch and 4 breaks that I had to also pay for or about an extra $236 for no work being done. They also demanded a $300 tip, even tho I did not have any extra cash. They told me to write a check. I even got stuck paying for their lunch. I called for the repairs to be done on the damages caused by their neglect. No one called me back for 3 weeks. An appointment was set and then cancelled 15 minutes after he was suppose to be here. He didn't even show up for the next appointment. When he did show up, he left for over an hour for lunch and to pick up supplies. He only did 3 of the repair items and promised to return for the remaining repairs. I never heard from him again. Despite being here for only 2 hours for the repairs, he billed the company for 5 hours and so now they won't fix the remaining items because he has already been here longer than he should have! Basically he lied and it cost me the remaining items being repaired. The owner screamed at me, threatened me and was arrogant and condesending in saying that I should expect damages in a move! My damages were the direct result of his movers not taking their time and being careful. He refuses to repair any remaining items, especially the HUGE gouge in my entry table despite the repairman promising to do so and the movers promising me as well at the time of the damage. It was on the repair list to be done by the repairman but the owner refuses to send him back out here. A new pedestal for the washer is $200 and they refuse to pay for that either!!
