Out of several alarm companies we contacted, Security First Alarm was the most responsive and willing to meet our deadline to get a quality security system installed at a fair price in our new office within just a few days. The crew showed up on time for the installation and stayed until everything was completed and working properly. Tami made herself available to answer any and all questions during this process so that we felt completely confident with the kind of coverage we would have to protect our new space. The staff at Security First has always been especially professional, friendly, and responsive. Thank you for a job well done and for great customer service along the way!

They got back to me immediately and explained how I could disable my system without having to have a service call. Very helpful and didn't ask for anything else in return. I would definitely go to them first for any security needs I have in the future..

They helped me every step of the way and went above and beyond with their service. I highly recommend Security First Alarm. SALES: Tami was excellent. She met me in person twice to ensure my security setup was exactly what I needed. She was thorough and easy to understand. I felt zero pressure to purchase anything at all. Tami just wanted to ensure I had the appropriate setup for my needs. Awesome. Thank you Tami! SERVICE: Jacob was outstanding. Absolutely phenomenal. He first installed a temporary system because our new residence did not yet have internet installed. He offered this service to protect me in the interim. Wow. Jacob then came out again a week later to install the permanent setup. He did a professional and clean job with the install. The sensors just disappear into the background. All the placements of various products were right where I would have installed them. I trusted Jacob and this proved to be wise. Thank you Jacob for going above and beyond and being so patient with all my questions. Epic! OFFICE: Kristen was a delight. She helped me prepare for the system and communicated clearly with me in all our email correspondence. Description of Work: Security First Alarm in my opinion was the worst company I’ve had to deal with over the last 20 yrs. I feel the company took advantage of me at almost every turn. When I first contacted them in 2014 unfortunately I had a deadline to meet. They sensed that. In my haste I signed a three year monitoring contract with them. Throughout the contract they nickel and dimed me even to the point when I requested a service call they would always say they were weeks out, but easily had emergency weekend openings where their rates were double. Also they sold me a used cheap DVR, but charged me a new model’s price. They offered me no written operating instruction and expected me to remember everything orally. When Rick the lead technician made up a code for accessing the program and did not tell me what the code was he called me “stupid” when I did not ‘remember’ it. As a board certified physician, I have 11 years of post high school level training to his, probably trade school apprenticeship. He was obviously projecting his own insecurity and feeling of genitalia inferiority. I feel Rick was totally unprofessional and was reprimanded by his superior, Tami the owner, for the above “stupid” remark. Rick also told me that he guaranteed the equipment for two years, but when asked for it in writing he repeatedly refused. To further show how unscrupulous they are, they list their address as 515 Salesman Rd Suite 825, but if you go to this address it is in a mailbox receiving storefront. They have no apparent physical consumer presence. After purchasing the equipment outright, paying thousands of dollars for this inferior equipment (according to other service people) Rick refused to give me the service code so I could not have anyone else work on it even though I owned all of the equipment. So in essence he held my equipment hostage. Discussions with other people in the industry revealed other unsavory aspects of this company which can be found online. The public should do their due diligence when selecting a company in this security industry and should avoid this company in particular and the multiple names that it uses, i.e. Champion Alarms or a derivative of it.

Recently, the key fob at the other property did not work and so I called Kristen at Security First. When we could not figure it out over the phone, she sent someone out and he fixed the problem, giving me a new key fob. As it turns out, this was all operator (me) error, but the folks at Security First were gracious and very helpful. We've had prompt service, great response to questions and very good equipment installed at a very reasonable price. We recommend them highly.
Description of Work: We have a rental in Portland as well as another property that is in probate after a family member died and so securing the property and also making sure our renters have a safe secure home are very important. Security First installed and maintains both systems.

+ -1 moreThe estimate and installation went very well. First, when I called, a person answered the phone, no phone tree. The woman was very helpful in explaining their system. She was able to come out right before a holiday weekend to discuss our alarm options. She didn't necessarily recommend the most expensive option. She asked about our lifestyle and recommended options and setups based on how we lived. She really cared about getting us something that would work for us. The installation was the following week. They were on time. They did have to come back to finish, but that was our fault because we didn't have wifi yet. They came back 2 days later. We have a ranch style house with tons of doors and windows. The cost was 1/3 - 1/2 of everyone else we called. They offered us all doors and one motion sensor, free installation, free system, and windows and extra motion sensors at cost. Plus, the direct phone number of your "agent" you work with in case you need anything. We haven't had an alarm (false or real) to try out the system yet, but so far we are very pleased with the experience.

Security First came out and replaced the battery free of charge. I've never enountered a company that went out of their way like that, and will recommend them often. Thanks Security First!
