I messaged with them through Angie's for a quote to replace my broken garbage disposal and included my location. They quoted me $112 - their hourly charge providing all went well. No mention of travel time costs. They're located not far from my home - just 5.4 miles. The installation took just under an hour. Once he'd started Lonnie needed to make a trip to pick up silicone which was unprofessional but not the end of the world. In the end I was completely shocked to find a $56 travel time charge on my bill! If they were going to include another substantial charge I would expect to be told along with the quote. This was excessive for a 5.4 mile trip!

It went great. Rob was early and was personable and obviously was skilled,knowledgable and efficient in replacing valve. He was in house for 1 1/2 hour and was aware of customer concern about cost. The charge was $159.00 which we consider reasonable

$112.00 just to come out and give an estimate. That seems excessive to me. I was never quoted a price for the estimate and was surprised by the cost.

R D Plumbing is a small family business that cares about its customers and provides quality work. Rob is the main plumber. He apprenticed under his dad (who is now mostly retired). Rob's apprentice is his son, Lon, who is a competent, respectful young man. Rob is very experienced and is willing to answer questions and share his knowledge about the right way for plumbing to be done. He doesn't try for the lowest pricing, because he feels so strongly about using good materials and spending the time needed to get the job done right. I did, however, find his pricing reasonable. Most of all, I appreciated his willingness to negotiate some aspects of the pricing seeing how this was a very big job with some unknowns going into it. In the end, Rob and I settled on a price that we could both feel good about for the work performed. As this was an extensive kitchen remodel which included a complete re-piping of two floors of a large house and a move of a gas line, this was a major investment in the plumbing work. I feel good knowing that Rob and Lon did it right. Throughout the course of the project, they showed up at our house on 7 or 8 different days. They were good about being on time or at least giving us a call if they were going to be a little bit off schedule. This was a project that required a lot of coordination between the plumber, the drywall specialist, the wood floor guys, and several other providers. Rob was patient with this coordination and was always a professional even at times when other providers hadn't done all the prep work he expected. He was willing to engage in communication and coordination to help things go as smoothly as possible. As a small business owner myself, I respect Rob's style of customer service and can recommend him without hesitation for big projects like mine. It seems from the other reviews he performs well on smaller projects too.

My experience with them went real good. It was very satisfactory. He showed a lot of confidence in being able to do it. It was maybe going to be real tricky but he managed to cover the bases, instead of having us go out and get an extra fellow that did tile, he gave us confidence that the sink and toilets would be able to be installed in the same spot and cover the existing floor and counter. We contacted a tile person in case we needed him, and he also thought we might be able to squeeze by without a tile person coming in. He was fast and a very nice fellow. He was easy to work with and he did it fast.

They did a great job. Everything works and no leaks. Ron and Lonnie arrived early and wasted no time. After the job was complete they cleaned up and went over the system with me. I highly recommend R.D. Plumbing to anyone needing work done in the Plumbing trade. James and Bonnie Marchuk

They were wonderful! They were the only place I called that could come out right away. It was on a Friday. He came accessed the situation and then installed the water heater the following Monday. I have nothing but good things to say about them!

We were desparate to find someone to come out to our place to fix a small section of pipe that had cracked and then broken apart prior to the first heavy rain storm of the season. We called several handymen, most of which were too busy, some of which refused the opportunity. We called several plumbers, and all except Ron (at R.D. Plumbing), were planning on charging just to come out and assess the issue. We forwarded photos of the issue via e-mail to Ron, and on the same day his wife, Stephanie called to let us know that they could do the job, without hesitation. We had initially scheduled it for later in the week, and received a call the following day that their grandson Lonnie would be able to come out that same day, between another job. Stephanie was great, and provided exceptional customer service. Ron was super in describing the fix and how easily they could accomplish the work. Lonnie was prompt, very efficient and professional. The entire family was so helpful, courteous and more than willing to take on our small scale, but critical job, to give us peace of mind. We will gladly use R.D. Plumbing for all future plumbing needs, and would recommend the company to anyone!!! SUPER, SUPER great folks to work with!!!

They worked fast. He brought his son out with him and it was done in 3.5 hours. Gave me an Angie's List discount. The original quote was $820 and they charged me $800. They cleaned up their mess, were courteous and quiet. They will be my only plumbers from now on.

Rob did the job! It is horrible under there and very tight space, but he had a great attitude and did a professional job. The shower drains are clear and work terrifically! Everything was left in good shape. Even the trap door, which needed to have the hinge tightened. I was totally please with the job, would recommend this company to anyone, and would make it my first choice for any future plumbing needs.

Was very happy with the service- Came in and did the job that I has requested them to do. Was very professional and was at the house for only 30 -45 minutes. The upstairs toliet does not leak any more and that was the solution that I wanted. I will call R.D Plumbing again for the next problem that I may have. Thanks-KJT

It went very well. Water temp in the shower dropped to lukewarm after about a minute and a half, despite the water heater thermostats being set at 150 degrees. I had [crudely] measured water temp with a meat thermometer in the tub and sink. Tub was 105 and sink was 135 degrees. I rechecked the water heater settings which really were at 150. Rob asked me to run the hot water wide open at the sink, testing temp at the beginning and at 10 minutes. It remained at 140 degrees the entire time. He came to the house & adjusted the stops inside the temp control knob. This solved the problem. There is adequate hot water now with the water heater thermostats set to 140. He further responded to my asking why this would work when the stops had never been adjusted before (and I knew nothing about their existence). He said that all mechanical parts do wear out as time passes. I appreciate that he is responsive to questions.

Their work is great in every way! They instill complete confidence in the customer/homeowner!

We used Robert, the technician, and he was fine, responsible and trustworthy. It seemed expensive but that may be normal. I have had no problems so far.

They arrived exactly on time and quickly figured out where the leak was coming from and made a hole in the wall for access. They were puzzled as to what caused the break and suggested insulating the pipe. They cleaned up every bit of the sawdust. Everything about their work ensured confidence. They gave me a senior discount.

From the first inquiry to the final finished work, they were superb -- clear in communication, on time, no surprises, and a great final result. Will definitely call them the next time we need any type of plumbing work.

He worked very hard for three hours. He told me what he was doing, walked me through it so I would feel comfortable with the work. He was always working hard. He stayed on task and was very friendly. He gave me a discount for being an Angie's List member and I would use him again in the future.

The guy that came out was very prompt, and he is very good at what he does. I also felt that the price was excellent as well.

The plumber arrived at the approximate early time after a heads up phone call. . He came in with tools and removed shoe covering and surveyed the job. HE was business like, but cordial. He went to work, and was grateful for the prep work done by us to leave the area of work clear and a light pjrovided to see the area under the sink cabinet. He went to work removing the worn garbage disposal and the old cast iron sink. A heavy one. He was careful of the counter top. He then installed the instant hot water device,.Then the new SS sink was put in place after calking around the edge. We purchased a new set of faucets which were installed with the Instant Hot faucet. He then connected the water and plugging in the electrical, The exit plumbing was finished and all was checked for leaks. When he was satisfied with the job in the kitchen he installed a new trap drain in the bathroom. All was checked for leaks and he picked up, cleaned up everyting. When the bill was prepared it included the coupon from the Angie's list catalog and a senior citizen discount, Which we appreciated. We were well pleased with the efficiency of the work and would reccommend RD Plumbing to anyone for price and quality of work. Lawrence Torrey

We have used them for three years. Overall, we have been very satisfied with them. They are very competitive on price. We have always been satisfied with their quality. Their responsiveness of the team is great. Their professionalism is excellent. They are coming in a couple of weeks.

Very Good. Although they did not have many reviews on Angie List, they were very close to my home and answered my questions about what brand of toilet to buy. They recommended American Standard Cadet 3, which is a good toilet, but I decided to go with a Toto Drake II. The plumber stated that he did not like Toto toilets, but from what I heard, he did not have any personal experience with Toto Toilets. Nevertheless, I purchase Toto based on excellent consumer reviews. Some people have reported problems with the quality of American Standard toilets. RD Plumbing re-scheduled my appt. due to a scheduling conflict, which was OK with me. But, they did not show up as scheduled for the new time and I needed to call and schedule the appt for later that day. The plumber showed up later that day, but, initially, I was disappointed that RD Plumbing sent a plumber that they just hired the day before my appt. While the plumber they sent was an experienced plumber, I thought Ron or or his son would be installing the toliets. If I knew beforehand that they were sending a new employee, I might have asked for Ron or his son instead. Nevertheless, the plumber did a thorough job. One minor problem: I was billed 2.75 hours at $99/hour. But, by my watch, the time the plumber spent at my office was more like 2.25 hours. However, he hauled off the old toilets and and empty boxes from the new toilets. So, I wasn't going to make the 30 minutes an issue. Overall good experience and would use again.

They did a real good job and the price was fair. They were punctual, did the work and left when they said they would and they cleaned up.

We have used RD Plumbing for many, many years and have always believed that they provided fair value; and today was no exception. I called Friday; someone was here Monday on time; the work was completed at a fair price; and the plumber was courteous and professional.

I have use RD Plumbing for the last 20 yrs. This basement remodel project when as smooth as the full kitchen remodel 11 yrs ago, and the master bath 5 yrs ago, and all the other small project in between. Rob has been on time, or fits me in if it is urgent. The work always passes inspection the first time. I will continue to call on RD Plumbing for all my future work.
