Amazing. My home purchase was transformed from a rubbish heap to an an amazing, beautiful home! David had vision and ideas that I could not see at all. I love my house and so does everyone who walks in the door. Well done!

The work started in May 2011. For the first week he was great. Then 2 weeks later there were days he wouldn?t show up. The ?no show? days became more frequent. I then realized he was working other jobs (several ?other? jobs). Like the other reviewer, David disappeared for long periods of time (very long, as in many months) and didn?t communicate. I would call, and call, and call. He wouldn?t receive or return calls. He offered "freebies" as compensation for taking other work and abandoning my project. He offered to "redo" errors (trim installed backwards) but never did... and I have to live with it. I was compassionate and told him to finish the other jobs then come back to complete mine by the end of Aug 2011. He vanished, again. I told him if the work wasn't completed by Nov 15, 2011 I would file a complaint with the CCB (first time). I twice sent him the required CCB "30-day notification of intent to file a complaint" letters. He would not sign for the letters so I found an acceptable workaround. He eagerly showed up and work for one or maybe two days then disappeared. His lack of communication caused many avoidable problems. The punch list lives on. Paint bubbled. The stucco on the retaining wall failed in one spot. The doors are not completely installed or painted. It?s now Dec 2012 (over 1.5 years later) and I?m still trying to get him to finish the job/punch list. Time to follow-up with the CCB. Spare yourself the agony and stress! Hire someone else!
Description of Work: I paid David Harris over $19,000+ to paint the exterior of my house, remove a garage, re-stucco a retaining wall, install three new exterior doors, build 150-ft of fencing (which I personally completed 1/3), and lay sod in my yard.

First I was told that if I gave him 1/2 up front he could start right away. I gave him approximately $1,600. I didn't see or hear from him for over 3 weeks. When he did appear it was for short periods to do small amounts of work. When I questioned him about finishing the job, he told me that it was my fault for waiting to start so late in the season (August). The priming and prep work were inadequate and almost non-existent. He did finish the job after threats to follow up via other avenues. The clean up was poor (still paint on the fence and some of the windows). The paint started to peel almost 1 month later, and has continued to peel to the point where the house needs another paint job. I have called to ask for follow-up. He has not returned my calls. Strongly do not recommend.
Description of Work: The bid was to prep the outside of the house including sanding down the paint that was peeling, power washing, filling some cracks in the wood and priming. It was to include two coats of paint, including gutters, clean up and follow up.

He brought some samples and painted a few boards in each color, and he then was quite patient when we needed an extra day to be sure of the color we chose (took us 8 tries- our fault, not David's). He works independently, and as it was the exterior of the house, I did not have to be there or worry about what time he'd arrive or leave. He came several times in the evening and worked into the darkness. One of our kids had stepped on the door threshold when it was wet. He happily repainted it for us, only to watch another one of the kids step on that and without even asking got his equipment out again with a smile on his face and cleaned up that mess. David is an excellent painter, very kind, down to earth, and was a pleasure to work with.
Description of Work: David painted the outside of our house, a daylight ranch (2 stories in back) He painted all trim and gutters. He painted a true 2 coats (1 coat dries before 2nd coat), not ''dual-pass'' as the other contractor simply described with a left-to-right-to-left motion of his arm. We are extremely satisfied with the end result.
