From the get go I didn't have the best impression. We initially got a quote from this gentleman during the negotiation process of buying our house and he came as a recommendation from our real estate agent who worked for Keller Williams. She said he's a preferred vendor or something along those lines. So he came to the house and looked in the crawl space. He said he'd work up a quote and let our agent know. She was out of town at the time (completely off the grid) so I asked that he also inform me of the quote price and gave him my contact info. Well he never did let me know about that and I only found out the price from my agent next time we met up. I was happy about the price of the quote but not thrilled with his apparent forgetfulness about calling me. He had also only given her a verbal quote so she did ask for something in writing. He didn't send it over until another couple days went by and she had to call to tell him we really needed it in writing because the sellers wanted to see it. Then we had to wait for him to finish a job, get it typed up, and sent over. So, we did end up buying the house and wanted to get the pipes fixed asap so that no major leaks occurred while we were renting back to the sellers. I checked him out on Angie's List and there were only a few reviews but all were positive so I figured I'd give him the benefit of the doubt and hire him. So we set a date and he said he'd arrive between 8:30am and 9am. So I arrived at the house around 8:30 and began waiting with the and quot;tenantsand quot; for him to arrive. A bit later my mother called to say he had called the house to confirm our appointment but she had only heard the message not spoken with him. I called him back and he said he was just leaving his house (at 8:30am) and would need to stop to pick up parts. When asked about his arrival time he estimated around 9:30am. So already we're starting off on the wrong foot in my eyes. Why wouldn't he have already been prepared so that he could show up during the window of time he had given me? Anyway, he starts doing the work and at some point comes and asks if we have an old rug or something that he can wipe his feet on when he comes out of the crawl space (the house has some cream colored carpeting downstairs). Again, not prepared. He knew he'd be in the crawl space but yet had no booties to put on or anything to wipe his feet on. I already felt bad for inconveniencing the people living there but luckily they had a rug in the entry way that she said they were going to throw out anyway so he used that. At one point he also left apparently to get a fitting or something but didn't actually come into the room I was in to tell me. I heard him say something (I thought he was either on his phone or talking w/ the gentleman that lives there) and then all of a sudden I heard his van start up and pull away. The tenant thought he had been talking to me but heard what he said so that's how I knew why he left. Anyway, he did finish up in the crawl space in a reasonable amount of time but then we started having trouble with the water flow from the faucets. He did seem to get it all taken care of before leaving though so I paid him and he left. The price seemed cheap to me so I was happy about that but not happy about his overall professionalism. Then last night I received a couple emails from the tenants saying the kitchen faucet had no pressure. I called him this morning and he did come out to look at it. He mentioned several times that this sort of thing happens a lot when you replace galvanized pipes because lots of rust can get in there and clog things up. I wasn't as upset that there was a clog as I was about how unprepared he was to fix it. He ended up asking us for a flashlight, a wire (for snaking), a bucket, and rags for soaking up the huge mess of water he made. All I could think was and quot;shouldn't he have all these things with him? He is a plumber.and quot; Once again I felt bad for putting the people living there out because of course I didn't have those items with me. It also seemed like he was just not all that competent at removing the blockage. It did eventually get flowing again but only after much mess had been made with water. I hope that the work he actually completed in the crawl space was done correctly because I do not trust him to come back out to fix it and surely don't want my crawl space flooding or something. I will say that he seems like a very nice gentleman and was very friendly. The price seemed very fair also. I do not however like people showing up late to a job and also not being prepared with their own supplies. I was not the only person there that felt he was not very good. Both the tenants and my mother have the same impression that I do. I think I also know why he is a Keller Williams and quot;preferred vendorand quot;. He mentioned while we were chatting that his wife is a real estate agent. My suspicion is that she works for Keller Williams and so he gets recommended to clients based on nepotism instead or merit. That is a disappointment to me but would be a whole different review. Overall I would not recommend this plumber. Although he seems like a nice guy I don't have confidence in his work or ability to show up on time prepared.

We needed to complete these chores for the home inspection report before our house sale is completed. We called Gary, told him our problems, and he arrived shortly, tool kit and van at the ready. He completed the necessary work quickly and completely. Last fall, Gary quickly discovered the reason we had water on the floor of the unfinished area. My husband went down to our unfinished area below and discovered water all over the plywood floor. When Gary arrived it took him only a few moments to ascertain that there was a big leak in an overhead pipe (covered over with insulation); he did some further investigation that uncovered yet another pipe break. He couldn't find a cause for the state of the plastic pipe, but we guessed it could've been from where the pipes may have been bumped during some other non-plumbing repair work done by another contractor.
Description of Work: Presently we are in the stages of cleaning up a couple of small chores that evolved out of a house inspection report as we prepare to sell our house and move. Gary replaced a bathroom sink drain and the drain stopper/plunger. He also replaced the dip tube into the hot water tank. In the past he also installed a new foodwaste disposal and an instant hot water dispenser in the kitchen. He gets the job done efficiently and follows it with good clean up of the area. He is thorough and answers a client's questions patiently, and gives alternative solutions if needed.
