Marc and his crew did an excellent, professional job of integrating the two structures with alarm systems. The system works great and is really functional and convenient with the cell phone app which allows remote monitoring and control. We highly recommend Marc and his team for any security system installation

Marc at Portland Security Alarm was very helpful in explaining the new system they would install using the currently installed hard wired contacts. I had a lot of questions and Marc is very friendly, flexible and easy to talk with. He answered all my questions. He did everything he could to accommodate my needs in upgrading my current alarm system. He explained the installation process and the installer was prompt for the installation. The installer was friendly, professional and the whole installation required about 3 hours. Much of the work was changing out the control panel and retiring the hard wired contacts. He installed new wireless window contacts. He checked to make sure that the alarm system and old hard wired contacts were working properly and gave me a quick tutorial on how to use the alarm system. He also removed and recycled all of the old alarm components. Many thanks to Marc and Portland Security Alarm. I would definitely use Portland Security Alarm again.

Tech showed up 15 minutes early (wow, don't see that often). Removed old system, cleaned up. Installed all new hardware. Tech was professional and friendly. Knowledgeable and helpful. Answered all our questions (some more than once). Showed us how to work the equipment and tested everything to ensure it was working correctly before he left. Very satisfied and would recommend to others.

Portland Security Alarm was one of the few companies that would work with my pre-wiring (original construction was in 2003.) Most everyone else I contacted said they would not use my wiring and instead go completely wireless, and most would also not come out for an estimate without credit card info already in their system(s). Marc (owner) and Edgar (installer) both praised the benefits of hardwire over wireless, and were able to use all my wiring PLUS add wireless sensors to the same system. Installation was professional and very clean, and a followup visit from Marc to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction was an added bonus. VERY satisfied with the work and the company. I would recommend them to anyone in the Portland/Vancouver metro area.

The interaction with Marc Admire of Portland Security was a pleasure. He was prompt and mist importantly very easy to deal with. He was far from pushy (unlike some other big security companies I tried prior). His arguments against adding new sensors without checking the existing ones (from a non-working security system) appealed to me. I loved the fact that he gave me the option of self-monitoring, which all other companies I spoke to did not offer. The system install was painless and Edgar who installed the system did a great job explaining it all. Overall, this is one of the finest companies I have dealt with.

After we looked at several companies, we called for an estimate. We wanted a local company if possible. Mark, the owner, explained how their system works and the various options for equipment and pricing. He then came out and did a walk through and answered all of our questions. We got on his schedule for a couple weeks later; he was also good about our scheduling and rescheduling. Everything went smoothly. The installation tech was friendly and helpful and when he had to leave the owner came back to finish the job on time. They explained and demonstrated everything. Although they also install more elaborate systems and told us about other products they never tried to upsell us, which we appreciated. Everything was installed neatly and unobtrusively and they were respectful of our house. Finally, the system is working perfectly and the office staff is friendly and helpful. We love having online access to our system and a mobile app to use. We definitely recommend them.

Portland Security Alarms is the best security company with whom we have ever worked in 15 houses over 30-years. I interviewed more than one security company to install systems in two rental houses. When I called Portland Security Alarms, I worked directly with Marc the owner who gave me immediate confirmation that he could install a system in both houses for the Angie's list special of $299. In addition, one house had a old broken system, and he said he could use any parts from the old system that were compatible with his system. I never expected that to work out, but in this case it did. He salvaged one keypad and the central control box and was able to give me a complete system that works perfectly. In addition, he was able to fully install systems in both houses in less than one week after I first called and installed both in the same day. This is exceptional service. A few months later, I did have one problem with the alarm going off during a wind storm where the front door had a some play in it and it disconnected from the sensor and set off the alarm. Marc sent a technician the next day and took care of it at no charge. From my experience, Marc, and his company Portland Security Alarms meet their commitments to their customers in an exceptional manner. I would refer them to anyone and I will use them for all of my home security needs.

When they came out to give me an estimate, they arrived on time, suggested how many and what types of sensors we could use, and answered all my questions. They sent an itemized estimate a few days later. When they came out to install the system, they arrived on time. After everything was installed, they walked me through and showed me how to use it. A few days later, the alarm started beeping late at night, and I couldn't figure out how to stop it. The monitoring company had a technician call me, and he told me how to circumvent the problem, temporarily. Then he came out the next business day and replaced the faulty sensor. About a month ago, we realized that another sensor was not working properly. THe technician came out and replaced it.

Excellent service! Marc and his team installed our security system one year ago. He reviewed all the doors and windows of the house (three floors). His suggestions were very much appreciated. He was professional and thorough. Recently we noticed that the alarms on two of the basement egress windows inadvertently prevented full removal of the windows in the event of an emergency. We called Marc who was in the field. Two hours later he called back and said he would have a technician at our house in 30 minutes. The technician was able to easily fix the basement window alarm locations, and then reviewed all the alarm settings with us. We were impressed!

It's good to know people still do honest business nowadays.

They are a local company, which I appreciate. They are long established craftsmen and the current owner is a second generation locksmith. The pricing was competitive.

They even came out to set the alarm when we were out of town and forgot to set it ourselves. They were friendly and easy to reach. They have been in business many years. We had Marc come out and go over our needs one afternoon. He took the time to explain everything to my wife and I. We felt very comfortable with his company. We looked at other national companies (three letter company and others) but we did not get the feeling that they really cared and I wanted to go more local. On the install date Marc and his tech were ontime. What I really appreciated was he and his technician both wore shoe coverings in and out of the house to keep our carpets clean. Nice attention to detail. The install was perfect, fast, and clean with no mess to clean up. When finished the tech taught me how to use the control panel and was patient and answered any questions that I had. The instructions to log into the website for remote monitoring were easy to understand. They also had all the paper work needed and pre-addressed envelope for us to send in the alarm permit. Small touch but very professional I have called their office a couple of times, to be sure I had correct information for alarm permit, and they were very helpful. I now feel safe again in my home and would recommend this company to everyone.

Great service and flexibility when setting long term arrangements, too. Installer explained how the system worked, helped us make sure we knew just how to use it, and what our options were. Save a month if you pay a year in advance. Great service at the home office, too!

We had Portland Security Alarm do our in home system and are really pleased so far. Marc, the owner, and his team are great. They arrived on time, were quick and cleaned up after the work was done. Both installers took time to explain the system until I was comfortable with how to use it. They even told me to not hesitate to call for help anytime if I forgot anything. We decided to go with the mobile system and love it so far. Marc is fair and knows his product well. I would recommend this family run business over the Big Company businesses anytime. Nice to be able to support a local family run business.

I set up the install with Marc last month. I saw his reviews on Angie's List and liked the fact that he was a locally owned business. Even though his schedule was packed he found a time to come over and do an assessment and give an estimate. This was important to me since I travel back and forth from Alaska and was only in Vancouver for a limited period of time. I'm retired after 30 years in the electronics/IT fields, so I know when someone really knows their 'tech stuff' and when they're blowing smoke. Marc knows his business. After checking his schedule Marc e-mailed me back in Anchorage and gave me a date for the install. I returned to Vancouver for some more business that I had to do, so I was able to be onsite. He accompanied his head tech guy, John, and reviewed the job. He was on time and professional. Marc left John to do the job. John finished the work ahead of schedule. It was easy to tell that he knew his stuff and was very good at what he does. He was amicable and professional, and explained the system and functionality quite well. Marc and John were an absolute pleasure to do business with. It's not often that you run into folks that know their profession as well as these two do and yet are able to communicate what they do and what they are doing in such an assured and relaxed manner. I would hire these guys again in a quick minute and HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who has home or business security needs. I give Portland Security and Alarm an A+++++!

I am super-impressed with this family-run company. I did a lot of up-front research on Angies List and elsewhere, including into the variety of technologies that are available. That research made me a bit worried that I would get a lot of hard sells from alarm vendors on many things that might be unnecessary. That was not at all the case with Marc, the owner, who came to look around before providing a bid. He spent over an hour looking around and answering a lot of questions that I had. During that visit, he convinced my wife and I that we didn't even need quite as much equipment as we thought we might, in order to meet our needs. We lucked out a bit because he found that most of the wiring was still in good shape, so that simplified what needed to be installed. He answered several more questions via email a few days after his site visit, and the answers were thorough and informative. He and his installer both showed up on time on the scheduled day for installation, and he stayed for about 1/3 to 1/2 of the time and left only after the two of them had first run through a check list of what equipment and installation steps were needed (and not needed). It has been 5 months now, and we have had no problems. There was one time my wife accidentally triggered the alarm, and the monitoring company called right away to check whether there was a problem. That was good, because the police did not need to be called (to what would have been a false alarm). In summary, I could not be more pleased with this family-run company. Great service, very reasonable price, and very reliable from everything I have experienced thus far. An easy recommendation to make!
