They did great! I would absolutely use them again. Ryan was very helpful.

The washing machine needed to be unplugged and plugged in again every time before it would turn on. PDX Appliance ordered and installed a part, but the problem was not fixed.

The drain just under the heat exchanger was frozen over with ice causing condensation build-up to overflow into the freezer floor. After I thawed the freezer out and injected hot water down the drain, the problem returned within a week. Ryan came out and quickly root caused the problem to a plugged rubber cover leading into the drain pan behind the unit. He indicated this rubber cover served no real purpose and recommended removing it to allow the water to freely flow into the drain pan. Ryan then disassembled the freezer to chip out all the ice. He injected boiling water down the drain to remove all remaining ice. This was all done in under 1 hour. I am very pleased his professionalism and his quality of service; will hire for future appliance repairs.

Ryan was very prompt in answering my call and came out very quickly. He tackled the dishwasher first and quickly diagnosed the problem as a broken filter. He pulled the broken part out and showed it to me - very clearly broken. We discussed options (he was very knowledgeable and forthright) and finally agreed that the entire unit should be replaced. He then gave me some suggestions on where we should go for that. Next, the tackled the oven. After extracting the oven from the wall and running some tests, he found that the fan just started working again. We again discussed options and decided to leave it for now. Ryan is really easy to work with and I will definitely be calling him again on my next appliance repair.

I was called back right away and ended up with same day service. Helped turn a bad ordering experience with Costco into a good final outcome. Would definitely recommend PDXAppliance.

Ryan did a great job! Quick fix, showed me a few easy maintenance tips and cleaned up tidy. He texted me exactly when he would show up - within a couple of hours and kept me informed. He had to go get a part and didn't charge me for the time. This was an older fridge and worth fixing.

I called Monday morning and got Ryan right away. He was able to come the same afternoon and repaired the clog in a jiffy. We highly recommend them and will definitely use them next time we need large appliance repair!

I cannot even give one star. I set up an appointment with this company to check my water line going to my refrigerator for water and the ice machine. The hose would make a loud shaking sound every time water was dispensed. The repair guy (don't want to mention his name) came over and told me the problem was that I needed a new filter. The filter was changed (I had a filter so I was not charged for one) and he fastened the hose in back to the back of the refrigerator so it was not drag on the floor. I was charged $166 dollars for less that 30 minutes of his time. I was using the ice machine and there was no noise. But, when the ice tray was empty I noticed no water from the hose was filling the machine. I checked the water dispenser and found that when I tried to get water the refrigerator made the same noise I originally called him to fix. I called him and told him that the fridge was not working. He told me it was not his fault and there was nothing he could do and then he hung up on me. Now I am out $166 and a I still have a broken fridge. I hope He was not taking advantage of me because I am a senior.

I called the company number yesterday and talked to Ryan. After telling him the problem, he was very gracious and suggested to try to clean the burner with wire brush first, possibly eliminating the need for repair service. Unfortunately that didn't help. I called him back, he picked up immediately, no voicemail, and he scheduled to be here 8-10 am today. I was very surprised that he showed up at 8 am. He is very serious about his work, diligent, dependable and helpful young man. Even showed me exactly what to do if there will be similar problem with any of the burners. I was very impressed! After many bad experiences with different services, this man shines!

I had a great experience with PDX Appliance. I called and they were able to come out the next day, arriving on time. It took him about 20 minutes to diagnose the problem and he took a photo of the malfunction for his records. He disclosed the full cost of the visit and repair including the part. He said he would return the next day but was able to get the part and return in just 2 hours from his first visit. The part was installed and tested and he advised us about watching for any follow up issues. Great job

I was sold the wrong part and had to pay for labor when is was rectified. I will not hire them again

I immediately like Dan, he called back quickly and was confident in his ability to help. My fridge was acting up and I told Dan that my husband thought it was the compressor. Dan arrived the next day and communicated well prior to arriving. I was not home, but my husband met with Dan who tried to troubleshoot the problem with the fridge-which we are still not confident what is exactly wrong. My problem is that Dan did not share that he does not replace compressors on fridges, rather only works on them. This is not stated ANYWHERE on his website, nor did he tell me. I called to inquire why he did not share this from the beginning, Dan seemed to get frustrated with me and put the onus on me. Dan said that I should have asked him, and then went on about when you go to the doctor you learn more when you ask questions. He continued to talk about his experience, how sometimes people will think the problem in one thing and it turns out to be another, and he is not a magician. Yes, while I understand all of this, I would have preferred he communicate something to the extent of, "I will charge you to come out and look. Often people misdiagnose the problem, however if your husband is correct, I DO NOT REPLACE compressors." Which is at this point what has happened. We have a broken refrigerator, have paid the $116.25 in service fees, and will now have to hire someone who actually can fix our fridge. To think through the metaphor that Dan stated to me about ME needing to ask the question whether he could do to the job, and likened it to seeing the doctor, this is what I see it as: If I called the doctor and said I had a broken arm, then arrived to have the doctor say, well, sorry, I thought it might just be a sprain, but you were right, it is broken and I CAN'T fix it, but you will have to pay me anyway...and hire another doctor to do the job. I wish Dan had taken to the time to at least hear my feedback when I called-I wouldn't be posting this now had he actually listened to me (rather than lecture).

Ryan was great! He was out within a few days of first phone call....he then communicated his arrival time by text & checked out the issue. We ordered the part & when it arrived he was back out the next day to fix it. Highly recommend.

When our dryer suddenly stopped working, I went to work to try and fix it myself, to no avail. I called a few different appliance repair services, PDX was immediately responsive and said they could look at it the next day. Ryan arrived the next morning, systematically went through steps to diagnose the problem, found it, got the part, returned, installed, fixed. He left me a service technician's guide for future reference and gave me some maintenance tips. Great work!

Dan/Daniel was very informative and educational. Turns out we have been overloading our washing machine and he provided tips on how to properly load & maintain longevity of our washer & dryer. I had also caused a part to be lose in the washing machine which lead to the water leakage. He explained that it could be more cost efficient to purchase a new washer rather paying for additional services and quoted what he would charge vs buying a new one. He also took the time to look at our dryer since it wasn’t drying well (I last minute mentioned) he noticed our lint filter was dirty (not with lint, dirt) and cleaned our lint filter and explained why that happened and how to prevent it. Daniel is trustworthy and was so helpful, highly recommend his services. It’s nice to work with people who have integrity like that.

Only person to respond to my call almost immediately. Very nice and willing to work on an older fridge when another repair person.told me on the phone to just buy a new one. The third company I called didn't call back for 3 days!

I accidentally dropped a lid from a laundary detergent pod container into the lint trap opening of my dryer. The lid fell all the way into the dryer's blower compartment. I called Daniel at Gary's Appliance the following morning and he was able to come out a couple hours later. He was able to take a part the dryer, remove the object, and put it back together within a half hour. Daniel was punctual, friendly, and professional. I will certainly hire him again!

I've used this company twice now. Both times they have been incredibly responsive, arriving at my house within an hour of calling for service. Both times they fixed the problem in less than an hour at a great price. The first time no parts were available anymore and he had to fabricate a replacement part on the spot. They are my go-to company for appliance repair, especially older ones.

Extremely well. They responded faster than I might have been able to summon an ambulance for a medical emergency. They identified the problem quickly, had the part on hand and reassembled the dryer in about 30 minutes. Bravo.

I'm not completely sure how they warrant such high ratings but others may have had better service calls. Pro's: responded quickly to our service call Pro's: washer/dryer is working Con's: Little on the expensive side (almost $400) no parts/all labor Con's: Not a fast worker Con's: Cut himself and we had to bandage him up on our dime...clock was ticking! Con's: left a mess in the toilet bowl where he dumped water (don't you flush toilet at home!) Con's: Left water on the floor after job Con's: credit card fees must be paid by customer...how small are you? We will find another repair outfit for future needs.

Was able to repair the appliance even though it is older.

This company did a fantastic job. Promptly returned my calls, clearly explained service options, provided accurate quotes, and had a tech out to complete repair within a day. Dryer works great now!

Don showed up on time with the appropriate tools after some very quick communication and response! He spent time disassembling the machine only to say the problem is a bad motor which is cost prohibitive to repair/replace. He put the machine back together after offering to sell me a used machine from their shop, then asked for $147 for the house call. Whoa! I hadn't been quoted a price for the call beforehand and though I knew there would be SOME charge, that number was way higher than others! We negotiated and settled on a more reasonable charge and he left. I decided to get a second opinion from Sears because I didn't relish the idea of disposing of this dryer. Sears came out quickly and had the dryer running like a champ within 30 minutes. Yay Sears Repair!!!
