Excellent! There was an appointment initially set up and a price agreed to, and they showed up early and worked with us better than I could have hoped for! I will go to Paul's Plumbing again if anything comes up!
Description of Work: The main bathroom flooring was updated and the toilet flange was way too high so they came in and lowered it.

Not well in terms of results. They were good to deal with but I feel like I paid alot of money for a so-so job.
Description of Work: Replaced cartridges in 2 faucets. One was leaking when we called them. By the time all 4 were replaced the other faucet was dripping and the plumber could not figure out how to stop it. He was a really nice guy but couldn't even find the water shut off to the house! He asked me to call the Water company to ask where it was and the person who answered told me I was in big trouble if my plumber could not even find the shut-off. They were willing to come out later in the day to locate the shut-off but he was able to change the cartridges without shutting the water off.

First of all, Paul returned my call! He had someone out in less than one hour. The work was honest and fast and I felt very comfortable with the person who was sent to do the job. I had a bid from another company before my sink clogged and it was twice as much as the bill I ended up with from Paul's Plumbing. I had been fretting about the cost of the other bid when my kitchen sink clogged. I decided to find a very local company from the phone book to do another bid. I felt really good talking to Paul, he was upfront about his hourly rate and I said send someone over and skipped the bidding process. I give them an A+.
Description of Work: I had two outside faucets, one laundry room faucet and one clogged sink repaired (beyond the trap). They did not try to repace anything that did not need it.

They were a no show...called 15 minutes before appointment to say they had another job to do - I lost a day of work. When they finally do show up, Tim the plumber demands payment for 2 hours even though he was out the door in 90 minutes. Then he demands $70 "trip" charge and $10 for a "truck" charge. I tell him Paul said they charge a flat $140, but Tim demands payment for these bogus charges. I call Paul up and demand a return of the bogus charges... Paul starts screaming and hangs up. He was verbally abusive and is unethical and unprofessional. I should have checked Angie's list first- as he has a long history of TERRIBLE service.
Description of Work: Called up Paul's plumbing and spoke with the owner, Paul. Told him EXACTLY what I wanted...licensed plumber to change out a shower valve and change out a shower drain (rough in) on a gutted to the studs bathroom. I asked for the EXACT cost. Paul quoted me $140 flat rate plus materials (I provided the new drain and new valve).

The general contractor was on site at all times. When the plumber and apprentice showed up on the day scheduled, the General was framing a window near the sink and offered to stop. The plumber said no problem and came back the next day. The bill was much higher than quoted and the return trip was cited as the reason. To add insult to injury, the plumbing work did not pass inspection. I was told that ''we would have done it differently if you had told us you had permitted it''. They agreed to return some of the money, but never did.
Description of Work: Put in plumbing for sink and refrigerator for kitchen remodel.

Paul was at my home only during the initial visit. The first time I declined to pay additional money for work that was already in the contract, one of Paul's plumbers threatened to ''rip out all the plumbing'' they had done thus far, if I did not come within the next 30 minutes with a check. No one cared that I was out of my home for 2 months & the additional cost/stress that entailed. They were late regularly and often did not show up at all, although scheduled to be there. Two plumbers who came in after them both said the work quality was poor, cheap materials were used, and the cost of the job should have been closer to $3,000 total. Paul & his employees did not care about me as the customer, or the quality of their work. This is my first home & I had no idea what to expect. They took advantage of my naivete and good will. Two years later, I'm still finding problems with work they did, but I call someone with integrity, not Paul's Plumbing Service.
Description of Work: I purchased a home & discovered my second night that there were severe plumbing problems. Long story short, Paul + 2 crew members came out to do an estimate on the work to be completed. The estimate was $10,000. I paid by check - half then (half when done). I have only one bathroom, so for two months I lived in a hotel with my two cats. I got calls at work every day notifying me that they had ''run into a problem'' and the $10,000 would not cover the work. They refused to order my tub/shower unit, faucets, etc. To quote Paul,''You're the contractor. You handle it.'' They never removed any debris/fixtures from my yard or bathroom. They replaced a sewer line in my yard & threw cigarette butts into the hole. They cut a hole in the roof to run a line & it leaked. Deadlines were never met. The 2-wk job (guaranteed in contract) took 2 months. It was an absolute nightmare!

The first call was close to the estimated time. When I needed them to return because leak is not fixed, they were hard to reach, missed connections. I was home the whole time however, so how do you figure that? They came back two days later and couldn't find the cause of my water under the sink. When I called and talked to ''Paul'' he said he sent them out here for free and what more did I expect. He said a lot more but I asked him if that was his bottom line and he said yes. He insists that the replacement faucet was needed or they wouldn't have put one in and acts like there is no water on the floor and if there is, it must be from another problem and he will need to charge me to send them out here again. I don't feel this is resolved at this time. Paul suggested I give it a few days to dry up or whatever. But will need to charge me to come back out to fix a problem I say is still existing. He doesn't agree with me however. I don't find them to be caring enough about the customer.
Description of Work: I reported a leaking sprayer on my kitchen faucet, with water on the floor under the sink. Two plumbers came and first installed a new spray hose. That didn't seem to take care of the problem, so they said I needed a new faucet. They had to go to the store to purchase one. Returned with a Delta faucet similar to the one they took out. They had to return a second time because there was still water under the sink. They tightened up the hose connection from the faucet, and ran water to try and find the source of the leak. They couldn't find anything and left. They charged me $116 for the new faucet and $135 for one and a half hours of labor. I paid by check.

INITIAL PHONE CONTACT WAS GREAT. PLUMBERS SHOWED UP ON TIME, WHOM I LATER FOUND OUT WHERE UNION. THEY DID NOT GUARANTEE THEIR ESTIMATE OF THE CAUSE. MY WIFE AND I REMOVED THE SHOWER DOOR ASSEMBLY AND RE-CAULKED WHICH TOOK US ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF. WE FOUND OUT LATER AFTER MOVING, THAT THE LEAK WAS STILL PRESENT AND WAS ULTIMATELY FROM THE SHOWER DRAIN, AFTER THE PLUMBERS INSISTED IT WAS NOT. EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE.
Description of Work: WE WERE SELLING HOME AND NEEDED SOMEONE TO FIX A LEAK IN THE UPSTAIRS BATHROOM ASAP. THE LEAK WAS STARTING TO COME THROUGH TO THE CEILING IN THE DINING AREA BELOW. I HAD DETERMINED BY MEASURING THAT THE LEAK WAS COMING FROM THE DRAIN OF THE SHOWER. I LEFT MY WIFE AT HOME TO LET THE CONTRACTORS IN THE NEXT DAY. THEY SCARED HER RIGHT FROM THE GET GO; TOUGH TYPES. THEY SPENT A FEW MINUTES LOOKING AT THE SHOWER AND DETERMINED THE WATER WAS COMING FROM AROUND THE SHOWER DOORS WHILE SHOWERING. SHE ASKED THEM TO PLEASE START TO FIX THE SHOWER DOOR LEAK. THEY SAID NO, THEY DON'T DO THAT TYPE OF WORK. SHE INSISTED AND THEY PUT SOME CAULK ON THE WET SHOWER DOOR TRACK. SHE CALLED ME CRYING AND THEY REFUSED TO LEAVE WITHOUT PAYMENT. I RAN HOME AND DEALT WITH THEM, EXPLAINED THE MEASUREMENT AND THEY ADAMANTLY DISAGREED WITH MY ASSESSMENT. I PAID THEM THE $150 JUST TO GET THEM OUT AS THEY WEREN'T LEAVING WITHOUT PAYMENT. $150 FOR 10 MINUTES OF WORK.
