Pannell Floors

The Pro: Carpet was removed, pad and new carpet installed for our entire upstairs in less than two days. The Negative: There are multiple seams in our hallway that were not there when the previous carpet was installed and two stand out, and when reaching out to the owner, he immediately told us why it had to be that way and that there is nothing wrong with what had been done. Two of his installers were the ones laying the carpet and he only came by for the bid. He said that he had us order less carpet to save on waste this way. We have a LOT of extra carpet which would have been able to be utilized on the entire hall so this did not seem accurate. He told us the he would come out and look but if he did and didn't find an issue that he would charge a trip fee, and he then told us why we would be wrong and be charged. Later that day we also found a hole in the stairway with some torn sheet rock. When texting him about this his response was "it wasn't us". Who else was there at that level working on carpet I ask? Yes, he cashed the check and hasn't responded when we told him that it was them. Unless you just want a quick installation with seams in places you wouldn't expect, and no positive follow up, we would not recommend working with Pannell Floors. Updated: The owner, Dave, has responded multiple times and that we have chosen not to engage any further. We understand that the hole may be an issue from the past, but not the tear in the sheetrock. We have reached out and had an independent inspection completed, and will be having our hallway carpet reinstalled with less seams in the near future. We recommend that whenever you work with a contractor, that you ask about where seams are going to be placed, and if they will show, as the fact that every time I walk down my hallway and see 3 seems in less than 20 feet, I question the logic and need for this. We would NEVER want to sabotage a contractor's business. As stated before, if you want a quick installation, go with Pannell. Much of the work is quality as well. The seams and customer relations at the completion are the reason for this review, not the quality. A few of his comments: "why your so dead set against me I can only guess, but it's apparent you had this in mind prior to our install as we were nothing but courteous, on time, and professional" "Please get inspection so you can stop trying to ruin our livelihood and reverse your false review."

The job went very well. We couldn't be happier with the finished project. There were a couple of issues that arose during the project and Dave's team couldn't have handled them better. They even came back at the end to make sure a small detail was taken care of. During the project, there were some price issues around furniture moving and Dave worked with me to make sure that they were resolved to my satisfaction. Dave responded quickly to every phone call, his team arrived on time every day and put in a full day's work. The team was exceptional, - kind, courteous, respectful, and we wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.

The project went extremely well and couldn’t be any happier with the end result. This company was fast friendly and very Courteous. Superior in all areas. Very very pleased.

Dave and his installer are experienced professionals in their trade. They offer good value, quality installation, and excellent customer service. Communication was excellent as they kept me frequently informed via phone and text. Soon after the installation was complete, I noticed a small manufacturing defect in the carpet. Dave quickly coordinated to repair the problem. I'm satisfied overall and would recommend them to others.

They did great work and were very professional in all aspects of the job. They also referred us to a very helpful wholesale carpet dealer prior to the installation and we saved a lot of money as a result.

Quote was very competitive, and was able to schedule the work within the time frame needed. Installation went smoothly, and on schedule. There were a couple of issues with installation that become more challenging to resolve due to communication between the company and homeowner.

Dave Pannell is a consummate professional. He was straightforward, communicative, polite, and helpful. He gave great professional insight into my situation and provided me with good, affordable options for replacement of over 100 square yards of carpet. Dave allowed me to use his wholesale pricing at the carpet retailers, saving me hundreds of dollars on the price of the carpeting. Installation was scheduled and knocked out without any hassles whatsoever. The installation of the new carpet looks beautiful, and I'm so happy that Pannell Floors was recommended to me. I anticipate using him again in the future, and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking to have carpeting redone in the Portland area.

In all of our interactions, he was as helpful as possible, and the crew worked hard to achieve an excellent result that we are very happy with. I have since recommended Pannell Floors to several people. I think their work demonstrates that they care about the quality of their work and their customers!

Dave and his crew really came through for us. We had pre-purchased carpet for a remodeled attic about a year earlier that needed to be installed. When the crew came to Install the carpet they let us know that we did not buy enough carpet to finish the job. Dave and his team installed what they could and then squeezed us into their packed schedule a week later after we purchased the remaining carpet. The crew was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Our carpet looks great and we are glad we found Pannell Floors!

On time, under budget, quality work.

All aspects of our experience using Pannel Floors has been excellent. This is the 3rd time we have used them for carpet purchase and installation for entire houses. Dave responds to phone calls and questions in a professional and timely manner. He lets us know what to expect, when to expect it and makes sure the whole process is easy as possible. His staff is on time, courteous, respectful and very hard working. The respect your property and clean up after the job is done. Dave is the first and only person we call for our flooring needs.

It didn't go anywhere. Even though on his website he states that he gives a free quote, when I spoke to him on the phone he said he would come out only if I paid him $75 for the estimate. If I hired him, he would refund the $75. If I decided to go with another contractor (for whatever reason), he would NOT refund my money. He said his time was valuable and people were calling for estimates and then not hiring him. I thought that was the reason for getting an estimate. The entire budget for my remodel is about $60,000 so I wasn't going for the cheapest, just the best. He started talking about Home Depot flooring, etc. which I was not at all considering. I was extremely offended by his comments.

I do not have enough positives to say about Dave Pannell/Pannell Floors. Dave and his crew's work is impeccable, reasonably priced and they're nice! As a really busy, working person I don't have the time or desire to micro manage. With Pannell Floors I never have to hover over them and monitor what they're doing; I can trust them to do the job perfectly the first time. I have a few contractors that I am completely loyal to...Pannell Floors is one of those few.

It went great! It was a little more difficult then expected but they took their time and made sure it was perfect. We are very happy and would use them again, along with recommending them to others!

They were pleasant and easy to work with, professional and polite. Dave was easy to communicate with and quite responsive by both phone and email. Our family was in the house as work was being done and they coordinated that well. The crew of three was polite, pleasant, and enjoyable on the job. Colt, the lead man on the crew, is a carpet pro. This was a large residential job, the whole house except the basement. The installation was well done over three days and the clean up was good. Carpet was purchased through Contract Furnishing Mart at Pannell's contractor discount. In the end, I probably paid about the same in total as I would have if I bought retail at a big box store with supposed "free installation," but this way I knew I had a professional installer with good references and the carpet supplier was also professional and knowledgeable... a much better way to go than the box stores.

We needed some work done in our basement after a flood. All the work was done quickly and efficiently. Dave sold us some rubber padding for the carpet that he had in stock at the wholesale price, which was nice. He gave us good advice about what to install to reduce expenses if the basement floods again. There was a minor mixup on the billing - he overcharged us for the first part of the job, but fixed it as soon as I pointed out the mistake with the comment "Sorry, I had about 15 jobs I was collecting on, and just went with my quick notes i had."

Dave offered to help locate an installer even when he didn't believe he could get to it in time. He helped get measurements and order at a discount, the carpeting needed. In the end, his crew did the install too on time working late to swing it. He bent over backwards to make customer service his number #1 goal and I appreciated it!

Dave (owner) was very responsive and able to work us to schedule on very short notice. We were able to use IM for pictures which speeded up the process for getting an estimate. Crew was on time and very courteous and hardworking. They fixed one unplanned buckle 'on the fly' which was greatly appreciated.

Dave was professional, nice, and very easy to communicate with (I love being able to text someone!).
