He brought in a box fan to minimize smell. He knows exactly what he is doing.
Description of Work: I spilled a chemical on our oak dining room table and it just ate up the finish. I found Tom and he came in and magically fixed the large spot and a smaller one I had been trying to ignore. He also fixed the worn edges on our couch's wooden arms. Everything looks so much nicer!

Great! Tom was very responsive, timely, and a pleasure to work with. The cost seemed a bit high, but the work done was superior in every way.

I could not be more pleased with the result! He smoothed down the peeling veneer and stabilized it. Replaced missing and wrong veneer on the trim. Cleaned up the scuff marks, polished the brass fittings, and waxed the finish. It now looks gorgeous. See last 3 photos. By the way, he's a very easy, pleasant person to deal with.
Description of Work: I inherited an antique (Federal period) sideboard, an heirloom that his been in our family for at least 150 years. It was in poor condition: missing and peeling veneer, wrong veneer from some past restoration, scuff marks, etc. Tom picked it up, took it to his shop, and after several months, returned it. First two photos show "before".

Tom restored all the wood on a sadly aging treadle sewing machine for me. He delivered at the estimated price, and on time. He is a delight to work with - a craftsman that loves what he does. It was an absolute pleasure to work with him and I will be calling him for future projects.

We got a couple estimates and went with Pagenwood because they were local, likable, professional with good reviews and pricing. We picked a time and Tom picked up the table at the appointed time and helped me disassenble it. We thought we would need the table back by Easter. A week and a half before Easter we realized we would need it sooner than that. Tom was great at speeding things up by almost a week. He was was able to meet our new deadline. We were delighted with the work done when he delivered at the appointed time. He helped me reassemble it and it looks beautiful! Both sides of the table match perfectly. Used it this weekend and we got comments from dinner guest on how nice it looks..Great Great job Thanks Tom!!
Description of Work: Refinished a 2 piece distressed pine dinning table. We purchased this piece from Ethan-Allen and the original finish should have lasted much longer than it did. We had Tom take it down to bare wood and refinish the entire 2 piece top. Tom assured us the finish he would apply would be thicker and last much longer than the original finish.

Tom is a very personable hard working individual with a keen attention to detail. His work is so professional I was not able to tell where the gouges had occurred. We were actually able to see the lovely grain of the wood which had been covered up by a previous very dark staining job. Tom also provided a key which locks the cover to the table. I never knew that such a lock existed so that was a nice surprise. The work took longer than expected but I was in no hurry and the end result was worth the wait.
Description of Work: Our German Jugendstil (circa 1898) sewing machine was damaged in a move across the country. A few gouges had marred the surface of the table. Tom was able to repair and restore not only the table, but the matching cover and drawer.

Tom Pagenwood, owner of Pagenwood Restoring, is the person I dealt with regarding the repairs. He was extremely professional and clearly an artist in repairing fine furniture. I am a very particular person and I must say am extremely impressed with his work. He has always been very punctual when coming to my place to either pick-up/deliver pieces or do repairs on location. He was willing to come on a Saturday morning so I did not have to miss work. I have found his prices to be a bit on the high side but one can accept this when the quality is so good and the work is so outstanding. A terrific place should you need fine furniture restoration and repair.
Description of Work: I had several very fine end tables, china hutch and side table damaged by a moving company in 2005. Chips and gouges needed to be repaired resulting in refinishing most of the pieces. One table had the legs broken off - this table is now whole again and there is absolutely no evidence that anything had ever happened to the table. Another small table with drawers had a gouge in the top. Now, no evidence of any damage. The china hutch had a significant chip taken out of the front. The chip is now filled in and color matched and blended to wood. No damage visible. I had a teak file cabinet where one of the drawers was not easily opening and closing. Repairs were successful. The last piece is currently being repaired: a side table that opens up to a dining room table. There were hot mug spots burned through the top finish where someone had placed hot beverages. This piece needs to be refinished and a leaf was brought to his shop so that the color could be matched.
