They set me straight on some tile questions I had, Im going to handle this job myself, but in the future I would not hesitate to call them.

He was very committed in finishing the job. We had problems with the company we ordered the tiles from and he was very willing to come back and work with us. He was a pleasure to work with that way. He kept to his price. He was very fair.

Jim was a very informative, friendly, and helpful person. I think he also had too many jobs going on (which is probably a good indicator). He was late on some things. That being said, I do appreciate the information he shared with me. I chose another contractor who has been around longer. Jim's pricing, however, was much lower than others.

It went great overall. Came early to look at the job and gave us his bid as he promised.

Working with Ryan Nelson of Nelson Expert Tile and Remodel was the best construction remodel experience we have had during our 40 years in this house. We have tackled 4 major additions / remodels. This job comprised work in 30% our our home. Working simply off a vision in our minds, Ryan was able to move walls, frame new openings, add windows and doors and match new frames and soffits to existing structures. Our sheetrock contractor was highly impressed with the quality of Ryan's work. We also had him return to build a travertine scabos mini tile facade for our gas fireplace. It is now the focal point of the room! We are eagerly looking forward to hiring Ryan again to add some glass back splash tile in our kitchen. Ryan is not only only a meticulous craftsman, he is a delight to work with! His smile and upbeat attitude lights up the whole room and actually makes construction chaos fun! He never lets a glitch upset him, even when it is homeowner caused. We especially appreciate the fact that he pointed out some errors another vender had made and encouraged us to seek a remedy because he knew we would always be a little disappointed if we did not get it fixed. Ryan does not leave a job until everyone feels the job is perfect! I give my highest recommendation to Ryan Nelson and Nelson's Expert Tile and Remodel. Ryan was very prompt at returning my calls (my pet peeve!) and came out twice to our house just to look at it before he gave us a bid so we knew exactly what he recommended he was going to have to do to fix the problem. Very knowledgeable, professional and has a very strong work ethic! You will not be disappointed! We love our new balcony and feel confident that he will respond if we have any further problems.

It is a father/son team and they were wonderful. Totally knew what they were doing and were very professional. I used them on one job and when the time came for another, I didn't hesitate to call them again. I would not hesitate to use them again.

I guessed on the time frame. I have used them 3 different times during 2009 and 2010. They were like part of the family. I have referred them to friends who may not be a part of Angie's List

Ryan was great to work with and had many suggestions as to design and materials. He was able to work around our wierd work schedule and even the dogs liked him. We have recommend him to other people and would again.

The team was great. There was no wasted time and they were in and out in minimal time. They completed protected the surrounding area while they were working and did a great job of clean-up.

Essentially you get what you pay for. He seemed to be very knowledgable, but it just wasn't up to the standard that I am used to from the tile guy I typically use. He was a nice guy, he was just way over his head with the type of work I was having done. He said this wasn't the type of work that he normally does. I ended up tearing out a bunch of the tile and redoing it myself.

Ryan was great to work with. He went with us to help select materials and made some great suggestions. We have had this shower re-done before, but it was never "fixed" until now. He came up with a creative solution to make an invisible tiled door to access the pump/motor to the jetted tub as well. We won't have problems with the shower again. It is a beautiful room now. We will hire Ryan again to do any further remodels.

Vendor answered the telephone on first call. Described repairs and sent him email photos of work to be done, and he came the next day and began repairs. Finished grouting on second day. Very impressive!

Very professional service for estimates. The owner came on time and gave us a honest estimate, which unfortunately was above our budget. He offered a few options for doing parts of the job ourselves to reduce the cost and was flexible on adjusting his involvement to our schedule.

I hunted via Angie's List and interviewed several contractors. I chose Nelson's because I really had a "good feeling" about them. He was professional and really very informative. I wish I had used him for other jobs I had done prior to joining Angie's List. He completed the first job and we had him back out to do 2 more jobs for us.

Sometimes in your life (not very often) you find the perfect contractor. Ryan and Jonah fit the bill. This was a wonderful experience from start to finish. They were both fantastic!!! I really am at a loss for words to say how happy I am with this remodel. This was a remodel of a 1960 home that had been very neglected. We ran into dry rot ,plumbing problems and many other unseen problems. Not once did this change Ryan and Jonah's attitude to do the job right. Everyday they arrived with a smile on their face :) and a song in their heart. This was a remodel most people only wish for.

Excellent experience working with father and son team, Ryan and Jonah. They were adept and neat in their work and welcomed our being on hand every step of the way. After our initial consultation with Ryan, he e-mailed pictures of his work that showed its quality and that he understood what we wanted to accomplish. With the two of them working together, demo and tile setting was accomplished in about 4 hours and the next day the grouting was done in about 1 1/2 hours. After the grout has thoroughly dried they will return and seal the lower edge with caulking.

Working with Ryan (and occasionally his son) was an absolute delight. He is very personable, highly professional, and he was always prompt and responsive; he also always cleaned up beautifully afterward. The final result is just stunning, and we are so very happy with his work. In addition, his fee was exactly what he had said it would be. The above price did not include the tile, which we ordered and paid for. However, he did go and pick it up. I truly cannot say how wonderful he was to work with. Indeed, he went above and beyond the expected. We had obtained three bids for the new kitchen cupboards, one of whom was someone he knew and had recommended. After we got all of the information, we decided to go with the person he had recommended. Well, that turned out to be an awful experience. However, Ryan was wonderful, stepping in quite often and trying to get things working correctly, although the entire experience was also very hard on him because of his prior relationship with this individual. He did everything he could to help us through what had became a very unpleasant experience, even going to the expense of paying for some damage to the brand new wood floor which this other person had caused. He really went above and beyond, and we would not hesitate to use him again or recommend him. We would not, however, ever use this individual who built the kitchen cabinets ever again, and would never recommend him. Ryan said he would not be recommending him anymore either.

Nelson's customer service is very good and he did the job that we contracted for. The total calendar time for the job was about two weeks. Due to some changes to work scope during the project, the amount of tile increased about 10% and there was no additional charge for the extra tile. I contracted for the plumbing work myself and paid for the permit.

Ryan was AMAZING; nothing short of a miracle worker! As I mentioned above, he bravely accepted a job that two novices had started. We had remodeled our entire bathroom and had even tiled the floor of our shower. We were/are just too burned out to finish the walls and had other projects to move on to inside and outside of the house. It is a corner shower with floor to ceiling tile that we will install a glass door onto. Ryan was the first of five contractors to respond. I contacted five of off Angie's list. He was friendly and asked good questions about the job. He thought he could squeeze our small job in over the weekend. I was thrilled! That is three days notice. He asked me to email him pictures, which I did. I admitted that the walls were not perfectly square, but that it was prepped, the tile, mortar and grout purchased. He said he'd call back. He did, both times, AND he showed up on time AND he got the whole job done in one day, about 9 hours, and it looks AMAZING! He made great recommendations about a couple of choices we needed to make. His precision in cuts was perfect. He was very friendly and extremely easy to work with. I can't wait to hire him for the next job. I thought his price was totally fair. He took a little off because I said I'd do the grout (the easy part!). He was smart and professional. I TRUSTED him as a professional and felt comfortable with him in my home. He is a super hero contractor. I recommend him to anyone. Angie's List is such a gift of all of these fabulous contractor recommendations!!

I called Nelson tile due to good ratings on Angie's List, and talked to Ryan about backsplash. He came Sunday afternoon as promised and looked at the job. Promised to get back with a quote in next day or two. I called him a couple of times and he said he will send the quote. I never got the quote. I am not sure what the reason was, but it seems like he didn't want to do the work; maybe it was too small.

Ryan and his son did a wonderful job installing our backsplash. They were highly professional and considerate. We told Ryan what color grout we thought we wanted and Ryan selected the perfect grout. He was a little concerned about cutting the glass tile, which is known to shatter rather than breaking cleanly like ceramic tile. Ryan and his son were able to cut the glass tile perfectly. The backsplash is gorgeous. They did a superb job. They were also punctual and courteous.

Results exceeded expectations! I would hire Nelson Tile again without reservation. An exceptional remodeling experience...so rare these days. Ryan and his team were great to work with from beginning to end. Strengths: on time, craftsmanship, good design ideas and follow through, attention to customer needs; helped this customer better figure out what he wanted, creative on the fly and a good problem solver. Where could improve: Estimating: More accurate tile and square footage estimate, omission of needed bull-nosing expense.

There was a little timing delay and the job took a little longer than I expected, but overall went very well. Ryan was very responsive to my concerns, always arrived on time, did what he said he would do, and left the work area clean when he left. It was hard being out of our bathroom for 2 weeks but the results are worth it! We did have to have him come back to re-glue a couple of tiles in the shower, but he came out right away when we called. Very prompt! I have since had him do a tile backsplash wall in the kitchen, which also turned out beautifully.

Ryan and his team gave us excellent advice on remodeling our kitchen and all bathrooms. He and his team did a fabulous job with the kitchen backsplash and bathroom floors, master jet tub, and replaced all toilets. Plus he took the extra kitchen tile and redid my bistro set. He and Jonah are truly the best. What a TEAM!
