Description of Work: When asked if they would come to look at my bathroom remodel project, I was told that if I did not want to pay $20,000 to $25,000 that they were not a good fit for me to work with. My bathroom is a mere 6ft x 10ft. They did not evebn want to come and look at it or try to talk to me about what the job might entail.

Description of Work: Replaced flush metal entry door on existing metal outbuilding, also replacing 2x6 framing that had dry rot. Ron was punctual and very professional in his work. Also removed the dry rotted framing around large pulldown door on the bulding for me.

Description of Work: Placed sliding racks in pantry, put light up under cabinet for computer & hung heavy framed item.

Description of Work: I had the handyman fix the footings of my deck which had moved downhill a few inches and taken the support posts off-center noticeably. We discussed this before he came so he was prepared with everything he needed. He also tightened up the joints in the deck overall and gave me advice about putting up a safety railing where one was needed. A very positive experience and I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

Description of Work: Neil Kelly Home Improvement (not design arm) did a full insulation, weather-proofing, insulation removal and crawlspace in our 2700 square foot house. They were magnificent throughout, removing severely damaged insulation, building a new storage space in the walk-in attic space, insulating both 1500 sq' attic and 2000 sq' crawl space (walls and floor/ceiling) completely, sealing all windows, doors, garage door - it goes on. The team was absolutely the best, bar none, and responded immediately to any concerns. Many friends and neighbors have heard of this North Portland provider, and many more will. Subsidies helped significantly with the price - it was a huge project.

Description of Work: By far, the worst remodeling experience ever ... We were assisting our elderly parent with some work on her home ... We gave them our budget but they insisted on up selling us on remodeling sections of our house we weren't even wanting, never gave us firm pricing, insisted that before pricing could be given a $2k retainer would need to be made which they got from our mother in law behind our back when we weren't there (she had no idea whatnot was for) and then when they wouldn't give ya firm pricing on just the things we wanted done we dropped them - they kept the retainer without ever giving us any detailed receipt of what that retainer went toward (time, labor, their vacation fund?) ... Unbelievably frustrating experience ... We have since retained an amazing contractor who listens, gives clear pricing, and is respectable towards our mother ... What a concept !!! One that Neil Kelly needs to learn ...

Description of Work: Diagnose and Evaluate how to make changes to an oversize finished sky light well in order to install an auto shade screen after the fact to the skylight.

Description of Work: They completed numerous small repairs/projects prior to getting our house ready for sale. Fixed doorknob, finished a closet, installed new glass in a broken window, repaired dry rot on back porch, repaired broken hinge on outside storage hatch. If they felt like they weren't suited for a repair they provided quality recos to complete. They were fair, honest and did a great job. The only bummer part of our experience was that they were so busy, they couldn't do it all at once, and we had to wait here and there to get all of our projects completed. Overall, though, our experience was great and would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: We worked with Karen Richmond for the initial design and estimate for a bathroom remodel. Karen was very helpful in choosing fixtures and suggesting design elements but the estimate we ended up with was way more than we wanted to spend (over $50K for an approximately 8' x 8' bathroom) so we switched to another company for the actual build.

Description of Work: Built a wooden railing along the side of my house. Lonny was very smart and knew exactly what to do from my husband's instructions. He did a good job.
