We were incredibly fortunate to meet and work with Mel Bowerman of Mustard City Studio, as we were stuck with an very steep slope in our back yard and could not proceed or even know where to start until she met with us, walked and photographed the property, analyzed our list of goals including our very DIY budget, and then blew us away with a professional and gorgeous 3-D presentation accompanied by accurate measurement depictions of stair, patio, seating. railing and stylish weather shelter structure ideas for year-round use, all within safety and code requirements. She also provided complete lists with alternative choices for our garden and architectural element plantings to fit our lifestlye and future low-maintenance requests. Melanie was flexible, available when we had questions, and we feel we received superb value for her well-deserved fee. She played an essential part in our successful renovation and we are willing to be a reference for anyone who is interested in her work. Highly recommend for any project, large or small.

The Mustard City Studio team has been wonderful. They listened to our needs, proposed a plan that included everything we hoped for, and created a beautiful mural that reflected everything in the original plan. Not only does their work improve the look of our building dramatically, it lessens the chance that the wall will invite unwelcome graffiti.
