Excellent. Everyone always says on here how great their contractor people are, so much I'm skeptical. But Sean was great

We were given Sean's name on the recommendation of a neighbor and have used his services a half dozen times over the years. This time Sean and his assistant arrived, as usual, when he said they would be there, reconfirmed what was to be done based on his earlier estimate, and then set about doing the work very professionally and efficiently. Wherever practical, Sean uses lopers/pruners instead of a (noisy) chainsaw. They were careful not to damage other plants and objects in the yard, chipped and hauled away all of the trimmings, cleaned up the leaf litter and other debris from the trimmings, and confirmed with us that the work was done correctly before they left . Excellent work and service. We have recommended Monkey Puzzle to a number of our friends and neighbors. .

Excellent start to finish. Quick to respond, worked slowly and carefully to get the best effect, and completely cleaned up.

Sean is the best, responsive, reasonable, and respectful of the trees he loves. I first hired him 6 years ago and have always been completely satisfied with all aspects of his work.

They did a great job with the pruning. They arrived on time for both the estimate and the pruning work. Price was very reasonable (considerably less than another estimate we got). They did a good job of cleaning up the debris from the pruning. I wold have no hesitation about using this tree service again or in recommending them.

Everything looked fine when they were finished and they cleaned up very well. Sean was very good about describing what he was going to be doing and giving itemized prices for each individual thing that we wanted done.

Went great. They are in my neighborhood and I was flexible but needed the tree trimmed within a couple weeks so we could get other work scheduled. They came within a week, I was home so I could communicate my needs while they were trimming. They cleaned up my property and the adjacent property after the work was done. I will be contacting them for tree removal in the future.

I have to precede this by saying that I used the Angie's List and quot;scheduleand quot; feature to book our consultation and wrote three different vendors. Sean was the only guy to call back and did so on the same day. Sean arrived on a Monday 7th at the time agreed upon, give or take a few minutes because the parking around our townhouse is very limited. He spent time explaining the different options for trimming the tree, gave us a little background on the species, and listened to my concerns regarding the safety issues d/t a potential branch falling on us or my more senior neighbor. We discussed how the tree was it's own ecosystem, and preserving as much of it as possible was more important than aesthetics and grooming. From this, I got the impression that he was well versed in the care of many varieties of trees but also respected their existence. What's also noteworthy is that he took the initiative to help me contact the management company whose property the tree stands on to inform them of our intentions. Sean got the name and contact number for the right person also on the same day. About a week later (my own scheduling conflicts aside) Sean arrived with his capable colleague, and safely removed the enormous, thick branches that extended over our fence. All surrounding plants/planters were left intact, nothing was destroyed. The clean up was efficient and thorough. Work took less than a few hours, including clean up. As a person, Sean is pleasant to speak but also equally professional. He's easygoing and trustworthy, which make him easy to work with. What's more, the guy returns your calls.

Sean came out one week in advance and gave us an estimate. He asked what days were best for us. He said he would call the next week and pick a date that worked for him too. He called when he said he would, we picked a date, and he showed up on the appointed date and time. He reviewed with us what he was going to do to each tree, and checked back a couple of times on further options we might want to consider - at no additional charge. When he and his assistant were done, all the branches, leaves, chips, etc. were gone, and all of our plants under and around the trees looked as good as when he started.

Sean came on the agreed date and time for an estimate. I have 2 street maples and an arbor vitae that needed trimming. He arrived on time and did a beautiful job, he left the street and yard cleaner than they were when he arrived. He was very helpful answering my questions about further upkeep. I will definitely use him again when the need arises.

Sean was easy for me to work with long distance over the phone. He was willing to interact with my tenants about coordinating the exact time and date to fit with their schedules. I have not seen the actual work in person yet but my tenant sent pictures and was very happy about it. Overall he was very professional and prompt and yet seemed laidback and easy to interact with. I would not hesitate to hire him again.

We had several arborvitae trimmed, as well as several other trees on the property. They were very professional, provided information and advice on all the trees/shrubs on our property - even the ones that didn't need any work. Would definitely hire again. Very punctual, responsive, and reasonably priced.

Overall it went well. Sean even sent me phone pictures while the work progressed.

Overall outstanding. Sean keeps appointment times, does a great job, fairly priced, and respectful, trustworthy attitude. I have hired him for tree removal and trimming. The most recent job included trimming 3 large trees at my residence. Sean showed up on time, (like always), completed the work in two days and clean up to the point that I would not even had known he was here. I hired him to remove a very large 75 foot tree in the past. He didn't damage flowers that were 10 feet from the tree. He is also personable and deals with neighbors so well that two of them have since hired Sean. Can't say enough good things.

We got Sean's name from neighbors down the street who had him remove a dead/dying tree from their park strip. Sean came out to give us an estimate. He began by asking us what we wanted: Did we want the tree pruned to produce more apples or to be more aesthetically pleasing. We chose the latter because the tree has apple scab and we did not want to continue spraying the tree to control it. He then told us how he proposed to trim the tree, he gave us an estimate of the cost and when he would be able to do the job. Sean's estimate of the date was off by a couple of days because of another job he was working on, but still within our window to get the job completed. He arrived at the agreed time and reconfirmed with us how we wanted the tree trimmed. He brought his dog Bella with him, and she sat quietly while he worked. He used a ladder, pole saw, hand saw and pruners - no power tools. He worked very methodically and efficiently, neatly stacking the branches and waterspouts he removed along the park strip as he worked. When he was done, he cleaned up all of the small branches and leaves that had fallen under the tree and hauled them away with the other branches. There was little or no trace that Sean had been there when he was done, other than how much better our apple tree looks. When he was working my wife asked Sean about a magnolia tree we also have in the front yard. He said we had done a good job pruning it, that there were only a few small branches he would recommend we remove to give it a better shape and stronger growth pattern. He offered to remove those branches for us at no charge. Sean charged exactly what he estimated the job would cost. We were very pleased with his work and have recommended him to others based on our experience.

I'm a tightwad...when it comes to professional praise that is. I believe a professional should act like one in all aspects of their field. The trend is negative and nowhere is that more true than in construction (OK, Politicians, but they are in a different camp all together). Sean and company performed unbelievably professional. Bonus points, they are funny, enjoy what they are doing and took extra pains to project roof of a neighboring structure. Proof positive I believe in Portland Treescapes, I've recommended them to several people. Thanks for the great work, George

It went very smoothly. A lot of prep work beforehand to protect plantings. Took two days overall.

Sean has worked for us 5 or 6 times in the past and we are always very impressed with the quality of his work. He has a genuine appreciation for trees and nature. We have found him to be honest and sincere. We highly recommend him.

Perfectly. Sean and his partner arrived exactly on time, got right to work, were here for almost 3 hours, the work was done as Sean said it would be, cleanup and removal included. Could not have gone any better. We had called him about 2 weeks earlier, left a phone message, and he returned our call within about 10 minutes. Came over the same day, gave us a very reasonable estimate, scheduled a time/day for the work to be done. Sean is a very friendly, pleasant guy. He spent about 20 minutes here during the estimate and impressed us with his arborist expertise, patiently explaining what needed to be done and why. From estimate to finished job, Sean was the total professional. We enthusiastically recommend him

Professional, knowledgeable, courteous and on time throughout. No complaints at all. No question at all of having Sean return to do work in the future.

After my call, Sean came by pretty quickly to look at the job. He was pleasant, professional and knowledgeable. He gave me a price for the trimming and pruning I wanted and also volunteered to remove my neighbors branches at no charge. We picked a date and time for the job. When that time came, Sean and his helper were prompt, did the work exactly as requested, cleaned up and were on their way. The dogwood looks great.

Sean showed up on time. He was very good about returning phone calls before the appointment. I was very happy that Sean did the work himself (along with a helper), and did not sub out the work to employees. He knew his stuff and gave me good advice and recommendations for future tree care. He was especially good about making sure I was happy and that he had done everything I wanted done to the trees. They cleaned up the debris nicely, too. Great job. We didn't go with Sean primarily because of his availability at the time (he was on vacation by the time we finally got through all the different estimates from contractors). While we were very happy with the company we went with, I have a feeling we would have been equally happy with Sean as well. As he went through all of our yards we could just tell that he had a strong visual picture of how the work should be done. An added bonus is that he does the actual work himself. We really liked him and thought he was a good communicator and nice guy, with decent prices.
