Garrett did an outstanding job for us as potential buyers on a property where mold was suspected during the home inspection. The services provided included inspecting the attics and crawlspace, followed by taking both mold and air quality samples. He was very knowledgeable and we found his advice to be quite helpful to us in a difficult situation. The final report was provided within the committed 2 days and was of excellent quality. I would not hesitate to both use & recommend Mold Testing Services in the future.

It went great. Garrett was on time, professional and helpful. We were concerned that we may have mold issues behind our tiles and under our floor in our master bedroom. We also paid extra for the crawlspace inspection to see if we had any water damage under the floor. During the crawlspace inspection Garrett discovered that almost all of our heating ductwork below the house had been severely damaged by animals and needed replacement very soon. We were losing heat and money. We're glad we paid extra for the crawlspace inspection ($50). Our total was $400. The results were timely. Although we are not excited with the mold issues and ductwork issues, we were very pleased with Garrett's work and help. He even took a bit of time to check a leaking washing machine to see if we had any mold in the laundry room (no cost!) We'd definitely use him again but hope we don't ever have to.

Garrett was on time, very professional, explained what he was doing, gave me his thought on why the mold, took air samples then got back to me after the tests results were in.

Garrett came in, explained what he was doing, talked to me about what he saw and gave me his professional opinion of the possible reasons that mold was forming in those 3 areas.

Cost cited was only for the post-remediation testing. Garrett was a thorough professional. When he went out to test after the remediation, but prior to the home renovations being done he pointed out that this was not an ideal testing situation and he did not charge me for that visit. I would recommend him and use his services again.

Garrett was professional, thorough and very informative. During the entire 3+ week project with contractors, insulators etc crawling around in my attic space; it was Garret, and Garrett, alone who brought significant venting and damaged duct work issues to my attention. He made good recommendations to help me prioritize which problems to repair first and on how to best upgrade my attic space ventilation. I would have been in for a lot of long term mold, ventilation and air quality troubles without his keen attention to detail, great communication and very solid knowledge base. Definitely feel you can count on him and would recommend.

The initial inspection was done as planned. When I initially hired them, I was told a followup testing would be done after I remedied the potential source/s. The followup was to be done for much less than the initial testing. I just called to have them come out to do the follow up and was quoted $795. This is $220 more than the initial service. The reason I was given was that the entire testing would have to be redone because there were many "potential" factors for the cause of the elevated mold levels in my home. This was said without even being asked what I had done to remedy the mold. I had the entire ceiling removed ($9k) and treated and had the floor vents sealed off . Apparently, this was not enough for them to consider coming out to re-test without an increase in their fees. VERY Disappointed in their customer service and their way of doing business. Garret indicated that he really didn't even want to go back out there given how far away my home was. I believe this increase in price was to encourage me to decline the followup service. I would not recommend hiring this company as there is no point in having them do the initial testing if they are going to jack up the price to do the follow up.

The problem was not as bad as we expected, but it did require a bit of cleanup. Garrett was the one who came, looked at all the rooms and took samplings. He also looked around the outside of the house to see where moisture could be coming into the house. After he got the results of his samplings, he gave us a detailed report. In his report, he listed all the molds that were present and suggested solutions to get rid of the mold.

I would like to comment on the outstanding work that Garrett Dayfield, of Mold Testing of Oregon, did for us while we were in negotiations to purchase a home in Salem, Oregon. There had been a serious water leak problem and mold in the crawlspace that another excellent company, A 2 Z Inspectors, had uncovered in our pre-purchase home inspection. After remediation work had been performed by Service Master, we called in Mold Testing of Oregon to get an independent examination of conditions before we were to move to closing on the purchase. A different testing company I had talked with recommended not testing until all surfaces had been replaced, including putting back insulation in the crawlspace. I wondered if that made sense. Repair work had progressed, and insulation was scheduled to be reinstalled in the crawlspace the next day. Again consulting Angie's List, I called Garrett, of Mold Testing of Oregon for a final mold inspection. He proposed coming on Friday (this was Monday), and told me that the inspection should really be done before the insulation was reinstalled in the crawlspace, which made good sense to me. What to do? We had serious closing deadlines looming as the sellers had already purchased a home in another state, and our lender was getting anxious because the remediation work had dragged on so long. Serious stress!! I explained the tough situation to Garrett and offered him a bonus if he could by any chance come out that evening to do the inspection. Much to my surprise and delight, he graciously agreed to drive the 60 miles to Salem that evening and did moisture and mold testing throughout the house and crawlspace, at 7 pm!!! He refused all of my bonus offers. His work was thorough, he took excellent photographs throughout (which allowed us to see the condition of the repairs before they were covered by insulation), checked for moisture, collected 3 mold air samples which he sent to an out-of-state lab for immediate testing, and emailed the complete report to us in 2 days. As a result, more final "scrubbing" was needed which was immediately scheduled by the company that did the cleanup. The insulation has been reinstalled. I cannot recommend Mold Testing of Oregon highly enough. Garret went way "above the call of duty", with gracious and thorough professionalism at every turn. If I must face such problems in the future, I most certainly hope to use Garrett Dayfield of Mold Testing of Oregon. I think he deserves a medal. Sincerely, Libbi Albright

Garrett was fantastic. He was thorough, and put up with my hundreds of questions. Although no mold issues were found, it was worth the money. He helped me identify sources of future issues, and how to prevent problems from occurring. I learned a LOT about my house and systems in general.

Garrett was great. He was prompt, friendly and informative. He was very knowledgeable and gave me loads of useful information on the things, large and small, that would be useful to do as well as what wasn't particularly important. Once he was confident there was mold behind the walls he gave me the opportunity to save money by skipping the air quality test which would only confirm what we already knew. I highly recommend him to anyone concerned about a possible mold problem.

Garrett was very professional as he responded immediately to our request for service and arrived precisely as promised. He performed the test agreed to plus additional checks in other areas of the house as a safeguard. Test results were processed quickly and he offered suggestions for remediation. This mild and quot;disasterand quot; turned out to be handled in a very controlled, professional manner. If it was to happen, I feel we found the best people to assist us in the solution.

We called Garrett and he was able to come out the very next day and testing our basement. He examined our basement and yard and provided a very thorough report on how we can keep our basement and crawl space dry... As well as what we need to do to keep moisture out. Fortunately what he found isn't hazardous to our health. He responded quickly and was very professional.

Garrett and Paul visited my home to assess water intrusion issues in my garage. I was extremely impressed with how thorough they were. The assessment included a full inspection of my crawl space and attic, which are both difficult to access. I would really recommend walking around with them during the inspection because I learned a lot during that. They did moisture readings all throughout my house and inspected the exterior. They found many issues and did a great job of explaining them to me and also made recommendations for how to proceed with the work that needed to be done. Afterwards, I received a detailed report and results from the air sampling in my garage. I would absolutely use this company again and would recommend them to anyone. I called them on an afternoon during the week and they were able to complete the inspection the following morning. The report was emailed to me two days later. Garrett has been very helpful with my follow up questions and requests for referrals.

Garrett did a great job looking inside and outside - checking to make sure our home was mold free and move in safe for us. This was the second home we were under contract on within a short period of time that we had called MTSO out to inspect. Garrett was friendly and professional and even happily willing to come out the day after Christmas for us!! Thank you Garrett!!

Garrett arrived on time. I accompanied him in the attic. I was concerned about the cause, when the mold started, and future problems. He explained that what we were seeing was not caused from some current problem but probably originated from the sheathing being installed when wet. He gave me direction on what needed to be done and what did not need to be done. At my request, he gave me the names of firms that were experienced in working in attics on this type of mold. He was very detailed in his explanations of what we were seeing in the attic, the cause, and what needed to be done. (Having built the house, everything he said made sense.) Garrett is down-to-earth and a straight-shooter. I'm glad I chose him and would hire him again in a heartbeat.

I had to call them numerous times for information and to coordinate a quick turn-around for testing and results. Everytime I called, they both were very helpful, straighforward and professional. They arrived on time for the inspection; called me after the inspection to share their initial findings and called me a day early with the lab results.
