We went to Michelle’s Piano to browse and walked out with a piano! That’s how comfortable we felt with the store and the staff; we knew we were being taken care of. The service was wonderful. Lotof was so patient with us, listening to our needs, skill level and budget concerns and recommending the best instrument to suit. He was extremely knowledgeable—about pianos, music and the industry. We felt like we received personalized service, and Lotof made all our concerns go away. Even the delivery was easy. And what a difference it has made to have the kids learning and practicing on a real piano (as opposed to the 88-key, weighted digital piano we had). Their skill has improved dramatically, and their confidence has followed! They are so excited just to practice. Working with a quality instrument has really accelerated their training and brought out their natural talent. And what a joy to have rich, live music filling the house!
Description of Work: We purchased a used baby grand piano from Lotof at Michelle's Piano. They also delivered the instrument to my home.

Steve, Steven, and Mason, treated our old upright like it was a concert grand. They moved our piano from one house to another. The destination house has steep stairs, they laid ramps down and carefully guided the piano smoothly on dollies. They wore shoe covers and were very polite and hard working. I will use them again.

I emailed Michelle's Piano on a Sunday about moving a piano 35 miles, filled out an online form with all the info needed to estimate cost, which was great. Got an email back from them the next day, and was able to schedule when we needed (10 days later). They did contact us a couple days prior to adjust the timeline, which was excellent. They seemed to be running late on the day of the delivery, but not too far behind (about an hour later than scheduled which is not that big of a deal in my book). The piano turned out to be a LOT heavier than we expected, they guys were great troopers, very nice. The price included a discounted tuning of the piano after it "settles" from the move, which we have not scheduled yet. Through the entire process we were so glad to have picked Michelle's to move our piano.

We like them and they did what we wanted to do. They were very friendly, open and honest. We called a few places and we found that they were the same price as one of the places and cheaper than one. We used them because they were a piano store.

Wow what a crazy day! I totally want to give kudos to the moving guys. Lots of things went wrong but they were very professional. When we couldn't figure out how to get the legs off my Pramberger, their boss, Kim, came out and they managed to figure it out! He even bought a new mallet to try. It look a little longer but it was no one's fault and they worked hard. I also want to compliment them on their professionalism on the way out. Their truck snagged the fiber-optic cable to the house and yanked it out but they stopped and helped us figure it out and promised to compensate when we manage to get it fixed. Really good job guys. I love my pianos in my new studio! They look and sound great! (or at least they will when we get them tuned in a couple months ;) )

We changed appointment day for their convenience. Had the even shown up at 5:45, loaded the piano driven to Camas, unloaded they would have been working late into the night. They did not show at all and I am sure this was not out of my frustrated loudness is was because the driver and crew would not have been done till after 10 pm Friday night.
Description of Work: Scheduled for Thursday. On Wednesday they call, can't make the appointment. Schedule for Friday between 3 and 5, Kelly said closer to 3 everyone wants to go home. Friday 4pm we call when we call they say they'll get back to us. Now 4:30 get a text 4:45. OK 4:45 call from the Driver it will be 5:45 He is in Milwaukie, OR and we are out in the country in Sandy, OR for the pick up, and the piano goes to Camas,WA. Loudly frustrated I say you have to be kidding me. The driver says "Well do you still want me to come?" I answer yes I am here waiting for you. At 5 the office calls back and ays I have yelled at the driver and he is not coming...

..The piano was a gift from my mother to me. It was moved from her house to mine. We live 2 blocks apart. This allowed us to watch the moving out and in within our same family . They were polite , got the job done quickly, took very good care of the piano and took the time to explain that the location we chose ( in front of a window ) would require special protection because we have a Yamaha player piano which cost $14,000.00 when it was new back in 2000. The movers didn't just move the piano they knew all about it and took the time to inform us what was best for piano . You could tell that they cared not only about us but it was nice to see that the appreciation went beyond the money the company was being paid . They must love pianos because they took such good care of ours . I will recommend them to others. Also the owner was just getting ready to fly to the east coast to learn about new upgrades for this piano at his expense . Ours takes floppy discs and they now have an up grade which will digitize this piano so now Michelles pianos will also help us upgrade the electronics part of this very fun Piano .
Description of Work: They moved the piano and the price included a return visit to tune the piano .

I bought a new piano from this company, after buying a used, cheap piano from another store, and then regretting it. I wanted a quality upright, studio piano that was affordable. After a lengthy discussion with one of the owners, Lotof, I new bought a new Kawai from this company. By the way, I found Lotof to be exactly the kind of person that you want to be talking to when buying a piano. He loves music (and plays piano very well) and truly listens to you when you try to describe what you are looking for in a piano. He is also a fine salesman. By that I mean that he treats you with respect. After I bought the new piano from Lotof, I was not very happy with the sound and feel of some of the keys. My hearing is - too - sensitive, and I worked with the company to try to tune and voice the piano so that it would be comfortable for my ears. Eventually, it became clear that this otherwise fine piano was not right for me. I ended up buying a different new Kawai piano, one that was a little more expensive (after getting full value for the new piano that I initially bought), but which had a completely different sound and feel. Lotof was - extremely - fair on the pricing for the first piano, and the second, more expensive, one (which I now have, and love). I checked prices at other stores, and on the internet. Summation: Lotof listens to his customers, and is very fair in his pricing. Piano prices vary dramatically, and I can say his prices were very, very reasonable. Beyond that, if there is any problem, he will listen to you and make every effort to fix it.
Description of Work: I bought a piano from this company, and, to make a long story short, they treated me very well.

The movers showed up on time and pretty quickly moved the piano out our front door, pushed it up our rather steep driveway, and loaded it on their truck. They left no marks on either the house or the piano, and were polite. My daughter told me they moved the piano into her first story duplex with no issues. The company made an appointment with my daughter to tune the piano about a week and a half after the move. They suggested we do this to allow the piano to acclimate itself to its new location (it had sat in our living room for more than ten years before that). According to my daughter, who can tell when the piano is or is not in tune, the tuner did a good job. Overall, we are pleased with the work Michelle's Piano did for us and we would hire them again.
Description of Work: Moved our upright piano from our house in Lake Oswego to my daughter's house in Hillsboro. Tuned the piano about ten days after the move.

We had a couple of conversations with them for estimates. In the end, they were able to beat other prices we were quoted for each part of the move (the price I've shown is one part, moving one piano into our home from another home). We were very impressed with the level of professionalism and courtesy... they easily handled both moves efficiently and with care!

THE REP. FROM MICHELLE'S PIANO TUNING CAME TO OUR HOME. WHEN HE SAW THAT WE HAD OUR PIANO ON AN OUTSIDE WALL, HE SUGGESTED VERY STRONGLY THAT WE MOVE IT TO AN INSIDE WALL. THAT WAS PROBABLY THE REASON FOR THE TUNE PROBLEMS. I APPRECIATED THIS KIND OF SUGGESTION, SINCE I DID NOT KNOW THAT BEFORE. HE WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND DID A VERY GOOD JOB.
Description of Work: WE HAD OUR SPINET PIANO TUNED AND CLEANED. THEY ALSO HAD SOME SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO PRESERVE THE QUALITY OF THE TUNE.
