Went very well. The Inspector, Blake Landon, opened the panel, and inspected it thoroughly. He carefully explained potential problems with the Federal Pacific Electric panel, that was completely full and approaching the end of its life expectancy. He was professional and respectful of the house and its current owners at all times. His bid to replace the panel, if the buyers (our in-laws) chose this route, was very reasonable, $1,586.00. He provided a bid, describing all that he would do, in a very timely fashion as the deadline for completing the Repair Addendum was looming.
Description of Work: Blake Landon came to inspect the electrical panel and give a quote to replace it. he was very thorough, and ws able to work with our very short timeline for discovering repairs that might be needed.

Blake came and gave an estimate. 2 dollars higher than other estimates I received. He was knowledgeable, and talked to me like an adult, unlike another electrician who gave an estimate did. Work was scheduled in a reasonable time frame (1 week), and carried out quickly and professionally. They took care of the permit. I wanted a smooth and professional job. I was very happy with this provider, and got exactly what I wanted at a reasonable price.
Description of Work: Moved wiring around wall that I removed, and added 240 volt box for future cooktop.

Great experience. I spoke with Bill for my estimate and was quoted a reasonable amount over the phone when I described the work. I scheduled for a couple weeks later when I knew we would have the lights and fan and I could get a day off work. On the day of, Brad arrived on time. We had already cleared the rooms for him to work in and the access to our attic crawl space, so he got right to work. He was extraordinarily efficient and also just a really pleasant guy. When it turned out he was missing a part and their normal part runner was off, Bill took the time to deliver it. Brad finished more quickly than it had been estimated the job would take, and so the final cost was about half of the estimated cost. When does that happen? And of course, the work was very well done. It was really a fabulous experience.
Description of Work: Our three bedrooms were "switch and plug" rooms--that is, a switch turned on the plugs. They put overhead lighting in two of these rooms and an overhead fan/light combo in the third. They also installed an exterior GFCI outlet.

I had them come in and do a bid on sub paneling and the circuit and then a bid for just the circuit. They lost the bid because they misspelled my name. They came and I told them we'd just do time and materials. The charge for time and materials for the circuit was more than the bid for the circuit and sub panel, I was not happy.

Good communication and follow-through with Bill, who came and gave estimate. He was very knowledgeable and helpful in determining what was possible based on where our wiring already existed and sturctural impediments etc. The electrician that came out was a very good worker and did good work. He was always on time and polite and helpful. Good people.
Description of Work: Replaced every outlet in our 20-year old home--over 4000 sf, so a big but tedious job. Added extra plugs on two outlets, installed tons of dimmers and replaced all ivory switches with white. Installed light sensor device on outside garage lights.

I had a good overall experience with them. They were always prompt and sent someone out quickly. We have cedar closets, and they installed nice lights with long pull chains that look really good. Everything works great. My only minor complaint is that the electrician tracked some dirt in and didn't clean up after himself -- there was dust all over the clothes in our closets. Easy enough for us to clean up ourselves, but still felt like the one finishing touch that prevented me from giving them an A grade.
Description of Work: They added new fuses to our breaker box, converted some outlets to GFCI, grounded an outlet, and installed lights in our three closets.

This company is great. The electrician Mar did a great job from start to finish with rewiring our entire upstairs and some parts of our main floor and basement. He was punctual and also the job ended up coming in lower than they estimated - when does that ever happen??

The electrician arrived on time, was pleasant and professional, brought all of the right equipment, completed the work quickly, then sent us a bill. The ceiling was damaged a bit, which we noticed the next day. The lights worked well and were placed in well-thought-out locations.

I was pleased with the electrical work. The electrician who accomplished the work was Brad Newby. The only complaint I had was, he ended up being late to the scheduled appointment and didn't call. He did show up, eventually, but it was two hours later. I would call this company again for future work.
Description of Work: I had McCoy Electric install a GFCI outlet in the bathroom, fix a problem with the light fixture in the kitchen, install a new ceiling fan in the bedroom, install a light in the hallway and replace a socket in the motion light outside.

The work was done as outlined with Bill, the scheduler. The electrician, Norm, was always on time on the days he was there. Scheduling was a problem, though, as he was a no-show on 3 occasions, apparently due to scheduling confusion. If you confirm appointments with both Bill and Norm a couple days ahead of time, things should go okay. I will have them back for additional electric work.
Description of Work: Installed some new 3-way switches, changed out all outlets in all the downstairs rooms, installed 2 new light fixtures in kitchen, installed electric boxes/wiring in new room being framed downstairs.

Owner Bill said they were pretty busy so would take a couple of weeks, but took the time to come see what the job I needed done was. Then he referred it off to his coworker or subcontractor Brad New berg, who said it was odd that Bill should have me call him, because usually Bill make the appointments. Brad made an appointment with me, on Friday, to come the house on the following Monday, at 3:30 pm. I told my tenants, we expected him. It's Wed afternoon, still nothing, i called Brad, he made lame excuses, trying to push it off onto Bill again. With this company it doesn't seen the right hand knows what the left is doing, I'm tired of the run around, and decided not to give them my job. They are very unprofessional, and even though they have a secretary I don't think she does anything but give out their phone numbers;Everyone's passing the buck. To heck with um!!

Electrical work was completed as required BUT electrician did not show at the scheduled time, causing patio laborers to wait. We had to demand same day completion; electrician showed up approximately three hours late. Bob Ellis was not receptive to our situation, and he was the one who made demands on having the ground prepared (trench dug) by a specific date and time. We met the demand and they forgot about the job.

Originally, we were billed at $1,400, but since the electrician who was sent out spent a lot of time taking and making personal calls on his cell phone (and I mean a lot of time, which I made a note of while he was here) and both times arrived 45 minutes late despite clocking in at McCoy quite early, I let the person we were dealing with at McCoy know what the situation had been. They lowered the bill without any dispute. The electrician did a fine job, but I'm glad I was at home to take note of his work habits, which would have cost us had we not been around. At the office end, they were very professional and responsive, but the electrician assigned to our project needed to get with the program.
Description of Work: We did a kitchen remodel. We removed soffits and some electrical work had to be done before the drywall work started. They added one canned light, task lighting over the sink, added a 110 electrical unit for our new gas stove, and hooked up the electrical for the garbage disposal.

During the estimate walk through, they provided a lot of solid advice and suggestions as to how we should approach the various tasks. The estimate was well put together and totaled about $1,300. They even ended coming in under budget! Their journeyman was very courteous and thorough in his work. He cleaned everything up afterwards and did a great job adapting to our household schedule. I was impressed that they were able to come in and work on someone elses unfinished work and fix it to our high satisfaction. We highly recommend McCoy and would not hesitate to hire them again for future work.
Description of Work: We asked McCoy to fix work that was left undone from another contractor who decided to disappear on us. They fixed a variety of smaller electrical problems throughout our 1909 house including three-way switches, light wiring and fixing a circuit of sockets. They also re-configured some existing lights, installed an electric wall heater and thermostat, ran some new lights and sockets in the basement and fixed an old switch.

Great experience! They were very easy to deal with and did the work efficiently. The breaker box is a thing of beauty with room to grow. There was a small amount of damage done to a pocket door and they installed two extra outlets without charge to make up for it. Cant wait to hire them to do the garage and outdoor wiring!

THE WORK WAS COMPLETED IN JUST TWO VISITS, THE ROUGH IN WIRING EARLY IN THE PROJECT, AND THEN A RETURN VISIT TO DO THE FINISHING INSTALLATIONS. THE COST OF THE RECESSED CANS WAS PART OF THE TOTAL BILL. EVERYTHING WORKS FLAWLESSLY, AND CONSIDERING THE HOURS PUT IN AT AN ELECTRICIANS RATE I FEEL THE PRICE WAS VERY GOOD.
Description of Work: I HIRED THIS COMPANY TO RUN WIRING FOR, AND INSTALL EIGHT RECESSED CEILING LIGHTS, TWO UNDER CABINET LIGHTS, AND ABOUT A HALF DOZEN OUTLETS, AND SWITCHES IN MY NEWLY REMODELED FAMILY ROOM.
