I ordered a recliner and it was defective - it wouldn't recline all the way back like the one in the showroom. I was offered a replacement chair, which I accepted. The replacement chair's quality is just terrible and still doesn't recline all the way back. When I called to return the chair, I was told that they would send a technician only and that if I wanted to return it, I would incur a 20% restocking charge since it was past the 30-day period for delivery on my FIRST chair. The 30-day return didn't reset when I received the replacement chair. Ridiculous!
Description of Work: Failed to notify me that the 30-day return policy doesn't reset with a replacement item

After about two years of use, we noticed that the leather pigment was fading and a large oval wear pattern was visible on the headrest. We contacted Macy's and they told us that the "fine print" in the maintenance contract did not cover blemishes caused by "human hair". So not only was the quality of their "top line" leather furniture inferior we were also sold a worthless maintenance contract. My advice is if you want good quality leather furniture, don't buy it from Macy's. By the way I have a leather sofa in my family room purchased from a competing furniture store. Its is 15 years old and it has never had any discoloration and fading due to "human hair". It still looks as good as the day we bought it. Sorry Macy's but you have struck out twice. Once for poor quality and again for not standing behind your product.
Description of Work: I purchased an $1100 leather recliner from Macy's two years ago. The salesman offered us a "Worry No More" maintenance contract and we paid an addiiontal 10% for the coverage. We were told the agreement would cover any damage to the furniture.

It did not go well. In my experience, Macy's leahter furniture is prone to pigment failure and blemishes and the warranty has been reported as a scam. When I complained to Macy's, they told me the pigment failure was my fault because I did not clean the chair regularly. So I pointed out to them that I had a leather sofa in the basement that has had 15 years of active use and many years of contact with hair oil and sweat without cleaning and It has never had a pigment failure. They they tried to claim that the damage was due to a failed attempt to clean the chair. However I made no such attempt to clean the chair. They also tried to claim that the damage was due to hair products, such as mousse or hair gel. However no one in the family uses anything other than standard shampoo and conditioner. Macy's has yet to explain why their leather furniture fishish fails after just two years of use ! Apparently we are suppose to buy the leather furniture, but not sit in it.. It's OK for the dog to sit on the furniture, however, because dogs are covered by the warranty!
Description of Work: I purchased a "Worry No More" extended warranty on a new leather recliner that I purchased from Macy's. The salesperson told me that the wararnty covered everything that could damage the couch, such as tears, stains, blemishes, abrasions or punctures. Like a fool, I bought the $99 warranty without reading the fine print. After just two years of use, the pigment on the headrest discolored leaving a dinner plate size blemish. So I called Macy's and they gave me the 800 to call. I called the 800 number provided by Macy's and after a long waitt I finally spoke to customer service. I found out that the "Worry No More" warranty program was not actualy a Macy's program, but a third party warranty program. After about 20 questions, the representative told me the warranty would not cover the defect because it did not cover damage by human hair oil or sweat. Apparently it was in the fine print. I think they should change their program name to "Worry Alot". Oddly enough it covers dog or cat pee but not human bodily fluids. By the way, if you search the internet, you will find many consumer complaints regarding the "Worry No More" ripoff.

I had seen this particular rug in an ad for Macy's. The sales woman who helped me assisted me in ordering it because it was not in stock, however they did keep in contact with me as to when it would be shipping as well as all of the general care for the rug. I have now had the rug for about a year and am very pleased with the product.
Description of Work: I purchased an oriental rug from Macy's for my living room.

The person who came out did not spend much time. He fixed the chair but after 2 days, it had the same problem again. He only comes to my area once a month, so I had to wait for quite some time to get him to come.
Description of Work: They came out and repaired a reclined leather chair for me.

The chairs were of good quality and are very comfortable. One of the chairs had a fault and my wife had to push it very hard to get it back. I called them and they sent somebody out to fix it but after 2 days, it had the same problem again.
Description of Work: I purchased 2 reclined leather chairs from Macy’s Furniture Gallery.
