The owner of Lucky Lab Contracting came to my house at my convenience to review the work I wanted performed and provide an estimate. Although I did not hire Lucky Lab for this particular project, I was so impressed with the owner that I will definitely request his services/quote for any future projects I have. The quote was provided quickly and was within mere dollars of the quote from the company I did hire. Further, contrary to the information on Angie's List website regarding this contractor, I found out from the Oregon Contractors Board that this contractor IS fully licensed, bonded and insured. Furthermore, also contrary to Angie's List info, this contractor will provide weekend/24 hour emergency service. The erroneous information on Angie's List swayed my decision to hire another company. However, I will definitely try Lucky Lab Contracting in the future.
Description of Work: I requested a quote from Lucky Lab Contracting for several projects I wanted completed around the house. Cost of projects requested was around $1600-$1700

I hired Jamie to install a back door with screens, and lights included. I paid him a $900 deposit to book the work. He has not done the work. I spoke with him and he keeps giving me excuses. First he lied about waiting for the door and then he stated he hurt himself. Also, he pushed the date back advising me his right hand guy was out of town. I actually ran into this person and he is not out of town. Now he will not answer or return my calls.
Description of Work: I hired this company to install a door along with other related work.

I was not satisfied with them at all. I am planning to file a suit against them. It was a nightmare. I was so disgusted with them. It took him very long to finish the work. He told me that he will take seven days to finish the job and I planned a trip. He called me and said then that it was going to take him longer. I told him that I at least wanted him to move the furniture into my house because all my ceilings were redone and the inside was painted and some carpentry work was also done. I had all the ceiling popcorn removed and had them retexture it. He said that it was raining heavily there so he could not come, but he was lying. I called one of my friends who stay there and she said it was not raining. I told him to put my bedroom back together and put the TV back in the room with the chair, but I literally had to camp out. He did a half bit job. I had to call him back for a couple of things. He also did my fence and that is what I want to sue him for. He did two sides of my fence and he just nailed these cheap wood nuggets to fill the gaps all over. He came out and said he was going to call the lumber. First he told me that the lumber would cost $900, but they left a bill for $6000. I then painted the fence and the wood filled in the gaps started slipping apart. I called them on that and he said he had to call the lumber come and he had a big job to do and he will take care of it. I have not heard from him yet after that. I had another contractor come out and he said that they had to put some stabilizer boards behind the fence on the other side and that was the problem. He used cheap lumber. I will never ever use him again. The fenced cost me $1600 and the inside work was $6000. He used subcontractors do the ceiling inside and it was beautiful. I can’t complain about that. They went under the house and put a vapor shield and then insulated. He then said that the heat pumps ducts had gaps in them and that cost me more. When I called the company that did my heater they said that there was no way that they had used duct tapes. I don’t know what they did, but it cost me more. Some of the tuff he did was good. He has not gotten back to me yet. I will never use this company again. In total I spent $11000. He did not finish up little things that he was going to do. He said his mother will come to clean after he finished the work. However, he brought her to paint the closet in my bedroom because it had not been painted. He painted one of the walls with wrong color. His mother said that she was not there to clean.
Description of Work: I used Lucky Lab Contracting LLC during summer to do some construction work inside my house.

The owner has 25 years of construction/repair experience with other companies and has recently established Lucky Lab Contractors as his own company. That he was able to do the initial two small jobs at no cost to us encouraged us to explore further work with him. Thus far, we are comfortable with his presentation, his responsiveness, and his experience and knowledge about how to solve our issues.
Description of Work: We selected Lucky Lab from the respondents to our request for handyman services. Specifically, we had a roof leak in one of our rooms, we needed a replacement shelf in one kitchen cabinet, and a repair to slide-out shelves in another cabinet. Mr. Jarvis repaired the slide-out shelves immediately with no charge; he also agreed to trim a piece of shelving we provided to the proper fit and to return it to us. He did so and installed it today, again with no charge. While here last week, we showed him the roof leak; he gave us an estimate for roof repair and suggested we might need to replace the entire roof, as it has 4 layers of roofing (first layer is cedar shake and is very old). Today, he brought a roofer to review the roof situation and to give us an estimate for partial and whole roof replacement. He also suggested that we get estimates from additional roofing companies, which we are doing. We have also asked for a bid on establishing a small outdoor patio in our backyard; he will provide an estimate on that.
