I had Lisac's Woodstoves and Fireplaces get me in touch with their two contractors who come to your house and make installation measurements so you know which models of woodstove will work for your situatiion. Sad to say their contractors are horrific and quite clearly Lisac's could give a rip whether they get business or not. Good luck getting them to do anything for you - my two tenants are going to have a cold winter because of these idiots. Stay away!!

After my husband and I decided on the Fireplace Xtrodinair wood burning fireplace to replace an inefficient wood burning one, we went to Lisac's to get a better understanding of it by one of their sales representatives. Tim assisted us wonderfully from the start. He was very knowledgeable of this specific fireplace and even showed us a showroom solid wood mantel that would complement our fireplace remodel project. We hired a general contractor (GC) to do this remodeling project since we knew the total cost was going to pricey. The GC went direct with Lisac's, informing Tim on the specific mantel we wanted and requested it to be expedited for shipment. Having been included in the email specifics from the GC to Lisac's, we knew Lisac's had the correct mantel description. Our GC stated that he would accompany us when we paid for the items, but it would not be necessary for him to be present since he had already communicated the specifications to Tim. Tim verbally confirmed our invoice was exactly what our GC specified for our mantel. We paid for it and then waited for its arrival. Less than a week went by when it arrived. Sadly, it was NOT what we wanted. For starters, we wanted a distressed, solid piece of 5 inch thick wood. What we received was something larger that had been vandalized in a few places by what appeared to be a very sharp knife. This mantel was distressed by someone who was stressed out! Also, in lieu of a solid piece of wood, the mantel was just a put - together box. To our surprise, our invoice had the correct delivered mantel. Initially our GC informed us that Lisac's wanted us to pay for the restocking fee since it was our fault for not verifying the specifics on the invoice. Granted, we should have done exactly that, but we trusted them and paid for it. Upon taking the mantel back that same day of delivery and showing Lisac's the vandalized areas, Lisac's took pictures and sent them to the manufacture. We were able to get a solid piece of unfinished wood with zero additional costs associated to it. Also, we did not have to pay a restocking fee. We settled on unfinished simply because we did not want to delay our project any further. The mantel mess up added on an additional week. As we near the final stages of this remodeling project, the last part was getting instructions from Lisac?s technician, Adrian, who demonstrated to us how to use the fireplace correctly. He even showed us a very common problem area and how to fix it! Now, he was awesome!!! We are pleased that Lisac?s customer satisfaction was implemented to our satisfaction.

It took multiple trips to the Airport Way Location before learning that fireplace that met all of my criteria of mid-size/capacity, attractive flame & heat duct extension had just arrived from the manufacturer & was on display in Lisac's other store. After viewing the desired model. I returned to the Airport Way store where I thought I had a working relationship with a sales lady. She was busy and I was assigned a sales intern to complete the purchase. Lisac's handles such a variety of fireplaces that sales staff is not always aware of the entire selection and whether it is in stock or available to order. Some staff phone calls were needed to confirm the existence of the fireplace that I had selected. My contract identified an independent contractor for installation of gas line and fireplace. Even after getting a bid from this contractor, I still was not made aware that installation was a multi-step process, with a Lisac technician completing the installation & computerized flame adjustment. What was understood was that my general contractor would build a platform for the fireplace and the installation would then be completed in one step. Had we known the process in advance, we would have chosen other avenues at less cost, e.g., the general contractor's crew working with his plumber, and Lisac's technician finishing the job. It took another week to schedule the final step. I am pleased with both the appearance and functioning of the fireplace, but disappointed by lack of communication at different points that impacted both costs and time. Lisac's Fireplace and Stove has not been in contact for any feedback on my experience.
Description of Work: As part of a basement remodel, 1) Install a new gas line 2) Install a mid-size/capacity fireplace insert as secondary heat source and ambiance. 3) Extend a heating duct from fireplace to adjacent room. Fireplace selected for installation was the Avalon Seattle HO with power heat duct kit.

I went to this location looking for a outdoor firepit and a patio heater. The stoor staff was helpful. I was given a card for their sales staff. I called her and left a voicemail on her cell phone. After 2 days of not hearing back from her, I called the store. They assured me that they would have her call me the next morning. 1 week has passed and I have not heard anything from them. To make matters worse, I spoke to one of the owners at the Milwaukie location. He did not seem to care about the situation and referred me to another vendor (who also never returned my call). I can only imagine that business is so good that they don't need the $3-4k I had budgeted to spend.
Description of Work: I received flyers on firepits and patio heaters from the in-store sales staff for my backyard renovation project.

We love the fireplace. We did have to get a defective switch replaced at no cost to us and without any trouble. It was the first installation that was a hassle. The installer was crude and rude and totally unprofessional. He came in and at a glance at the job his first words were how and to whom the check is to be made out. He said he has done many installs. He did this one like it was the first time ever, having trouble from the start, then even breaking parts that had to be replaced to complete the installation. We refused to pay till it was in working order. He sent his assistants back later that night to replace parts and finish the job who we then paid.
Description of Work: The rating here is deceptive. One year ago, before we were members of Angie's, we purchased a gas fireplace insert to replace our old one. The sales people at the store were very good and helpful. They encouraged us to install it ourselves, but even though we are great do-it-yourself-ers, we chose to have it installed by their workers who are a separate contracted service.... not employees or a part of Lisac's directly.

It is a very impressive store with competitive prices. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Even with the economic pressure they weren't pushy. I didn't feel pressured to purchase anything at all. I would absolutely recommend them to others.

I went to Lisac's to research pellet stoves. Upon walking through the door, Tina was immediately welcoming. She very politely and professionally gave me clear information about all of the pellet stove products. There was never any pressure to make an immediate purchase, and she sent me on my way with an information packet, with complete pricing. The experience and customer service was wonderful and refreshing. When I am ready to make my purchase, I will return to this store.

So far they have been very helpful. They were very clean while working. They were happy to answer questions. They made helpful suggestions. It works wonderfully. Was pretty expensive but i don't know what others were charging. I am going to have my daughter use them as well.

It was a difficult wood stove insert because of the dimension of the fireplace. The sales personnel were very helpful to find an insert that would fit for us. We used the installer they recommended. There were some issues but overall we are happy with it. One of the issues was that the salesperson suggested that we paint the insert and we agreed. She didn't tell us that the damper would scrape the top of the insert. That has been a problem because we have had to repaint part of the stove several times. If they would have told us that, we wouldn't have had it painted. Another issue was that this particular type of stove tends to whistle. We didn't know that. They came out several times to try to fix it. We then found out by the manufacturer that this does happen. We fixed the problem by putting a lead weight over the damper control. Lastly, the installer and the technician who came out to work on the whistle didn't clean up after themselves. They came in with dirty shoes.

I went to Lisac's and they were very helpful, especially since it was a 90 degree day and their airconditioning wasn't working! They took my information and called me two days later. They tried for several days to find a fan for me but were unsuccessful. I was very impressed with their attention to a customer who had a small job, even though it could not be completed.
Description of Work: I recently moved into a new home, and have an underperforming gas fireplace insert. I wanted to find out if I could add a fan. I got the company name, serial number, etc. from the unit and called around. One place told me the company was out of business.
