I learned of the company through the handyman/carpenter I have worked with in the past (who was going to install the window). Someone always answered the phone promptly at the LaneCo office and routed my calls appropriately -- and if someone wasn't available, I always got a return call in a reasonable period of time. I was given a quote of $465 over the phone and that sounded quite reasonable to me, so I didn't get any other bid. When I'd gotten my building permit from the City, I asked my handyman to schedule with LaneCo so they window could be installed the day the wall was cut. The wallcutting was expected to take about 3 to 4 hours. Friday, May 31st was the date decided......but when I got home on Thursday evening after work, I found a message on my phone telling me that the cutter was in Bend and wasn't going to make it back in time to do the job on Friday --- that they COULD do the job on Monday. I called the dispatcher (this was now after working hours) and left a message on his cell phone to let him know that Monday was fine. I made the mistake of assuming that the time on Monday would be the same as what we'd originally planned --- 8 AM. I never heard anything more. Monday, the handyman came here by 8 AM so he could be here to mark the wall exactly where it needed to be cut and to answer any questions, etc. When no one came, we call the dispatcher, who sounded sleepy (or like he'd just woken up) and he said the cutter was scheduled to arrive at 10:30. He finally showed up closer to 11:30. The wall cutting was done by one man - and I was impressed that he was very compliant with OSHA regulations, including protection for his own hearing -- and it is loud! He did all the cutting from outside --- which he could do because we had fully excavated the new window well before-hand. Because he was alone, he cut the foundation into 9 blocks --- rather like cutting up a sheet cake - knocked then out from inside the basement, and lifted them to the earth outside the hole. He was putting all is equipment away by 2:30 PM. And they charged me $40 less than the quote because it was easier than expected. There was quite a mess of concrete dust on the walls and floor of the basement room where the cut was made ---- I had covered what I hadn't removed from the room, so it was just a matter of cleaning it up after he left. Great job, well done and for a great price --- I'd definitely hire them again.

The guys who came were professional and friendly. One of them grew up on our street, which was a nice connection. They were apologetic about the noise, which can't be helped when using the massive engine required to cut through a foundation. They were also straightforward about where the giant chunk of concrete that was cut out would go -- wherever it wanted to! So one landed nicely in the window well and one in the basement. I was surprised it went as quickly as it did.
