JT Landscape

We initially hired JT Landscape for a fall/winter cleanup at our home, and we were so impressed by their work, that we decided to reach out to them to perform weekly maintenance services of our front and back yards. Initially, things were great - we would get regular updates on what they had done, what bigger projects might need to be done, and prompt replies when things were not taken care of properly - which was rare. We really valued what they did and looked forward to having them be a staple at our home, for jobs big and small. Over the last few months, however, things changed. Their weekly maintenance often consisted of nothing more than blowing leaves to the perimeter of our yard, leaving critical maintenance of our plants and trees to go by the wayside. On several occasions, we reached out to them to ask if they could make sure to take care of some of the basics that they told us would be automatically included in our weekly maintenance care. We continued to give them the benefit of the doubt until about 2 weeks ago. We had them come out to perform additional services, including a pond cleaning and pump installation, and power washing of our patio - services which were not included in the weekly maintenance, for which we gladly paid what they asked. What resulted was a pond with one pump replaced and all old and broken parts left in the bottom of the pond, a pond that is absolutely dirty compared to previous cleanings, and a patio where large areas were left untreated. On top of that, the polymeric sand used in between the pavers was still spread out all over the patio, many cracks had no sand at all, sand was blown directly onto our hydrangeas, vibernum, rhododendrons, and plants around the pond. Walking outside barefoot for 5 seconds guaranteed sand on the soles of our feet. We were remarkably upset and send JT Landscape pictures of the work left undone, along with a request for completion of the project at their next visit. We never asked for reimbursement for services “rendered” or any other compensation - just for the work to be finished. In fact, we told them not to worry about the pond, only to focus on the patio. Four messages were sent. No replies were sent back. Ultimately, JT ended up blocking our phone number. This was the act that compelled us to write this review. I cannot recall a situation where someone whom we hired started out so great, before regressing so much. I also cannot recall a situation where a professional disrespected us by not even having the decency and directness to communicate with us that they would not be continuing to provide a service. This has devolved from a good working relationship into one of the most unprofessional interactions I have experienced. In short, stay away.

JT and Johnny were incredible. While most bids put the job out 2-6 months, JT was able to schedule 2 weeks out. He estimated the job would take 1.5 to 2 days and I thought no way. JT was also the most competitivley priced. They showed up early each day. They completed in 1.5 days while working through consistent rain. They were very detail-oriented throughout the project and totally cleaned the work area both days. The finished project exceeded my expectations. My neighbors are currently getting a bid as they were so impressed. I will hire them again!!!

Absolutely amazing work and service! My husband and I will absolutely be using JT Landscape again. Jahir was a rock star and worked to give us everything we were hoping for. Timeline was met, quote was straight forward, and everyone was super kind and easy to work with. My yard looks great now

It was great. They were working really hard. All the other people that working with him were great and do their job.

Poorly. I've used 2 lawn service providers over 25 years in NE Portland and totally happy with them (I think I have even reviewed one or both and gave A rating), but moved to WA County last year and my previous service doesn't work this side of town. So chose JBT after talking to 3 companies. Work was marginal-for example they kept blowing piles of debris into the corners of my large property, leaving them for weeks up against the fence, etc. A couple times I had to call when they didn't even mow, in the summer, and while my lawn was browning out and not really growing in some places, there were parts of it that clearly needed mowing. But my biggest issue is that in early November, they just completely stopped showing up. Jahir blew a huge amount of leaves onto middle of yard one day, then left suddenly, never to return. No call, no return of my calls, no response to texts, nothing-just completely disappeared. I suppose there is an explanation, but otherwise, it appears he just decided he didn't want this job. Totally unprofessional. If you're considering hiring him, proceed cautiously, if at all.

Our existing pond was leaking at the rate of a couple inches a week, so we needed a new liner. We also wanted an improved waterfall. The work was done as scheduled, but by the next day, the pond (300+ gallons) was almost completely empty. I called Jahir and we scheduled a time and date for the work to be redone. When he did not show up, I called his phone and left a message. I called several times later, as well as texting him, with no response. I paid by check, and asked over the phone for a receipt several times. He said he would email a receipt, but never did. He promptly cashed my check, so I do have that proof of payment. I recommend you do not waste your money hiring Jahir.

Sadly, it did not go well. It looked beautiful, but a couple of weeks after I paid Jahir, I went out and started actually trying to plant things (bulbs, plants). I found that just underneath the soil he brought in, there were still TONS of rocks, large and small. Every time I tried to plant a bulb, I had to first pull out 7-8 rocks. It looks like he didn't remove the rocks at all, just put the soil over the top. When he implemented the sprinkler system, he ended up hijacking the system for my back-yard, so now that system doesn't work. I have to re-do everything. I tried to connect with him to get these things taken care of, but he wouldn't return my emails.

Unresponsive, unreliable, unprofessional. Their preferred style of communication is text message, so they scheduled a meeting by text to come out for a quote and they were a no call (no text), no show. When I texted an hour after our scheduled meeting time to ask if they were still coming, I could see that they *read* my message and didn't even acknowledge having missed our meeting. They never reached out to apologize or reschedule. I would not hire them.

They did a great job, arrived on time and crew was very professional. They gave us a great price and did everything on bid. we will hire them again soon for a paver patio installation.

JT installed a new fountain for us, a five ft tall waterfall into a huge pond for us. Very excited to enjoy this in the summer. Thanks JT!

Very immaculate job, we own over 5 apartment complex properties and Jay Landscape Maintains all of them, and for a very low price, the include all services such as irrigation and aeration included with landscape maintenance contract. Would highly recommend to call them

Perfect! We have about 1 unit of land filled with maples and pine trees, JT and his crew arrived on time and cleaned left everything immaculate! I was surprised to see them raking all all of the beds, a lot of work, and they did a great job

Work was completed promptly. It took 2 workers about 1 hour to complete the job. 40 minutes into it, I asked when they would tamp the base down. At first he said the weight of the shed would tamp down the gravel. I said, no, it requires tamping and I had requested that upfront. Then the owner (Jay or Jihar) stated his guy with the tamper (which he showed me on his phone cost $12.99) was coming to do the job. I knew something was shady, and I asked to see that tool when he came. 20 minutes later they were done . Somehow the person with the tamper, came and went in that 20 minutes. I asked also if it was level as it didn't look so. Jihar assured me that it was level and he had checked it. In short, it was neither tamped down nor leveled. We ended up buying a $40 tamper from Home Depot and doing the work ourselves, but the base is clearly not level. If he didn't know how to do this type of work, he shouldn't have taken the job. I have no patience or respect for people to don't tell the truth . The reviews for this company looked very good and the pricing seemed reasonable . However, if anyone chooses to hire them, make sure they can do the job properly before doing so.

My fountain had been functioning for over 5 years and stopped working and leaked badly, Jay Landscape repaired everything at an affordable price, We will use them again.
