Hello to everyone who is searching for a Real Estate Agency or Agency to buy or sell a home. I would like to let you know about a recent event. The individual, Hank Paterson, is a Real Estate Agent for John L Scott in Hillsboro, Oregon. I would recommend that you avoid this unethical and disingenuous individual. Please read on and I will explain. We are in the process of selling our home that is located on the same street as this person. We are using another agency. We are not friends, nor are we particularly cordial. And there has been some water under the bridge. However, on numerous occasions, we had our agent install directional for sale signs pointing toward our house. On every occasion, those signs were taken. It turns out that through recorded video, this individual’s wife, Paula Paterson removed our signs. Is this legal? We do not know. Is it ethical and professional of a competing real estate agent? Certainly not. If you find these types of actions deplorable, as we do, please consider using another real estate agent, and consider using another Real Estate Company in general.

Overall, this initial visit went well. However, I am just in the exploratory phase so there is not much to tell as yet. Whether there is more to tell depends on what Lori finds in terms of comparables as well as some sensing on how rapidly homes are selling in my area, on average. Lori Lane was very professional and seemed to provide me with honest information on the probable market price of my home as well as the potential costs of selling it. She explained the process she used to identify comparables and the marketing costs (agent fees, title insurance, etc.) associated with selling a home. She went over each comparable in detail, explaining how my place differed and the potential market price implications.

Very professional, and knowledgeable, with a superb follow though.
