+ -1 moreI have been calling him every morning since Thursday, and he answered once and told that he would call me back in 5 minutes but never heard from him again. Personally, it is not good for Angie's List reputation, if Hugo's Lawn Care is one of their recommended company's on the list. I would certainly not recommend Hugo's Lawn Care.

+ -1 moreHugo came out the same day to look at the project. We needed it done ASAP for a weekend birthday party. Quoted me a good price the next morning and was out that afternoon to complete the work. He did a FANTASTIC job! I would definitely hire him again, and plan to in the future!!

+ 0 moreHugo responded to my inquiry very quickly and came out a few days later. I liked him immediately and felt he'd do a great job. He said he'd get to me with his estimate within a couple of days, but I had to email him again after more than a week. When he did deliver the estimate, it was incomplete, so I once again emailed him for the balance of the costs. After two weeks and no response, I tried calling him and every time I called, I got a message saying that the voicemail box was full and not accepting new messages. I thought perhaps something was wrong w/him and tried one more email through Angie's List but again, with no response. It's very odd, given the very favorable Angie's List responses I read.
Description of Work: I was planning to hire Hugo for major yard cleanup and follow-up service. Weeding, shrub pruning, cleanup, etc.

+ 0 moreWe were going to be gone while the work was to be done so had to put our faith in Hugo and his crew as we would not be there to oversee. He made a good impression when bidding the job so we wound up having him not just clean up but also spread compost throughout. He kept in communication with us and brought in a several person crew and completed the work one day, well into the evening according to neighbors. We are very pleased with the job - the yard looks great, everything we discussed was done as requested at the price bid plus some nice extra touches. We would hire again, absolutely. He is professional, smart, a good communicator and was reliable. I hope he hasn't left the country!

The lawn is greatly improved, and the yard looks very professional. The team really improved how the house looks from the street. We are thrilled with the work. He is flexible and is very responsive to special circumstances that invariably develop. He can be counted on to do high quality work at a very fair price. When major work needed to be done (such as distributing bark dust), then he brought in hard-working additional workers. Hugo deals comfortably and easily with others. In regards to various workers he has used in conducting his business, those workers have also always been thorough, diligent, and helpful. Before we began using Hugo many years ago, we went through several prior lawn care providers--but once we found a good one, we stuck with him!

+ -1 moreBadly. He never returned my calls or text message at all, just left me hanging. Another time wasting contractor who should have told me he was too busy before coming to my home, making me walk through the whole job with him, and then lying to me about his availability. I did find someone else who was straightforward and professional. So... just a warning to others. Since Angie's List now lets businesses get the last word in these reviews (and I've had businesses flat out lie about what happened when my review was negative), not sure this will serve as a warning to others about this guy, but I hope so. And PS if Angie's List doesn't change this policy, which favors businesses over consumers, I will be cancelling my subscription of 4 years.
Description of Work: A LOT of various landscape, from lawn to pruning, sprinklers etc. I said the work could be done at once or as shorter jobs over time. After looking things over, Hugo informed me he was booked 3 weeks out (maybe he should have said this on the phone?). I asked if he could fit in a shrub removal before then, and then do more in three weeks, and he said he would come in the next 3 days to do that.

+ -1 moreHugo's Lawn Care is great. I contacted them through Angie's List messaging, and received a response within 2 hours which was wonderful. Hugo dropped by the house next day and gave me a quote which was very reasonable. (I did contact 3 other providers--2 never responded and 1 provider quoted an outrageous price.) He and his crew came on the day scheduled and did exactly what was asked. The yard looks very nice now. Hugo is very nice and and friendly to do business with. I am very pleased with their work and will use their service again.
Description of Work: Hugo's Lawn Care mowed the front and back lawn and did weeding. Parts of the lawn had grown close to a foot high and weeds were everywhere. Hugo cleaned up the yard very nicely. I am sure the neighbors are happy too.

I really felt so proud of our yards, for our neighbors to see, for the 1st time. I'm very grateful to Mr. Saavedra and Hugo's Lawn Care.
Description of Work: Mr. Saavedra and his team did yard work around the exterior of the house, including the backyard and the front yard. They trimmed the bushes and trees nicely. They also mowed the lawn, and removed some bushes we needed to be removed. They also did a lot of weeding.
