I called the company late friday afternoon and requeted help for my problem. Problem: new(ish) water heater was tripping the circuit breaker. And, therefore, no hot water. The lady/ receptionist was polite and professional. She gave me their hourly charge and a couple of secenarios - could be this (high). Could be this (low $). So I had a spread. She arranged for someone to come out first thing Monday. And, they did. The work was completed in under 2 hours. And, cost came in on the low side - instead of the high side. The repair person was prompt and polite. And - the charge - cost - did not start when they left the office - but rather when they arrived and and started. I will put this company into my address book for future electrical work and they will be the first one I call in event of electrical problems. signed, apt complex owner
Description of Work: New(ish) water heater was tripping the circuit breaker switch. So - no hot water. Problem determined to be.....old circuit breaker - and too little amperage. Service person changed took out the low amperage, and did the necessary to install the higher amperage wires / breaker.

BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE. In a nutshell, Hale-Stone tried to charge us for 30 hours work, when only 22 were actually clocked (I was there the whole time and clocked both workers, and I inventoried all the material they used, and even added a 20% markup). They tried to overcharge us for materials, and though we agreed to pay $2505, which we did, Dan's office manager, Carolee, continued to call, email, threaten and harass us. They even put a lien on our property for $718. When we brought our other electrical contractor in to finish the trim work, it was discovered that most of the wiring was incorrect. The outlets were all controlled by the switches, and the bathroom switches would not work unless the main ceiling switch worked. It cost us over $200 to have their mistakes corrected. Still we were hassled, and it's not over yet. We have to deal with the lien they placed on our home, illegally, I might add. Luckily that will go away but what a hassle. We still have to retain a lawyer.
Description of Work: Hale-Stone was to rough in the electrical wiring for an attic remodel, which included the bathroom. They did not supply the outlets or switches or other trim work. This was a simple job. All the walls were open for them, and there were no barriers from the circuit box. Dan at first tried to bid this job at $5-6000. Normally, I would have sent him packing, but our building contractor needed the work done immediately, and he knew Dan, and trusted that he would do a good job. Being experienced at this work, I knew his estimate was 3X what it should cost. The actual contract simply stated: Rough in of remodel at $75/hour Time and Materials. Approx. $2800. Nothing about travel time, paperwork, or even permits, though we added permit cost in our calculations of material. Dan was late by 1/2 hour both days, completely unapologetic. I was there at 7:15am for them to arrive at 7:30am. They arrived at 8am and began bringing in materials from their van at that time.

These were the only electricians who gave a reasonable estimate of both the cost and the potential damage to the home. They arrived as scheduled and were pleasant to work with. Costs went over the estimate but rewiring was completed and inspection approved. I would not hesitate to use them again or to recommend them to another owner of an older home with rewiring needs.
Description of Work: Rewiring - removal of knob and tube wiring. Bringing home up to code.

Dan gave me a quick price. He has all his pricing on his palm pilot, so he can give you a quote on the spot. He was on time to do the work and did a very professional and craftsman job. He was very helpful and made recommendations of what was needed. He left the place clean when he finished. He Answered all of my questions so I could understand what needed to be done to pass the city inspection.
Description of Work: Service panel change and upgrade. Dan changed out the service and upgraded the circuits for the bedrooms, to the new arc fault circuit breakers.
