They didn't finish either project I hired them for. I was told it wasn't worth their time to come back out when the part they needed came. I had to finish the electrical work.

Their 5 star reviews on Google are because they send an auto email to you the minute they leave your house asking for a review before you might even have begun an engagement. I'd hired Greenbox many years ago and had a positive expereince with the owner. So I called them again to perform what I thought would be a routine furnace tuneup on a *vacant* home I am renovating. The person booking the service was not terribly friendly, the service cost twice what other firms charge and the fixed prices they quote for even small jobs are ridiculously expensive. The HVAC technician was humorless, rigid and rude. I work with a lot of neurodivergent people so at first I just sortof accepted it as the way this guy is. The HVAC technician found a crack in the heat exchanger of the HVAC which means the unit may have been leaking gas. The home is vacant and it is highly likely this leak had been present for - potentially decades. The furnace is in a large basement with a lot of fresh air infiltration and there are working carbon monoixde sensors in what would be the occupied areas of the home. The tech informed me that he would be shutting off the gas and unit until it could be replaced, let me know verbally and showed me the report that he wrote outlining that as well. Again the house is vacant and none of the CO2 sensors installed in what would be the occupied areas detected an increase. I mentioned that I didn't have the cash to fix immediately and was stretched thin due to rehabbing the house but he didn't bring up financing options until a PLUMBER from Greenbox overhead our conversation and let me know it was available. I asked for a quote for a gas and electric option despite skepticism about their pricing and planned to check out their financing option. When I returned to the home later I found that in addition to the verbal and note he had WRITTEN IN PERMANENT MARKER on the furnace and inside of it. Not on a sticker. On the property. I was livid. I thought this was completely out of line. I asked several friends. All of them thought that was completely inappropriate. I was so angry. I have decided to take them to small claims I wrote to the company wanting a refund of the money I paid them to compensate for the vandalism and the General Manager wrote to me with the same rude, arrogant and "I don't need your business" tone as the customer service rep and HVAC technician. I work in the building trades and HVAC specifically and know there is a labor shortage out there so at the moment unfortunately many firms can treat you terribly and get away with it. But you have other options. I ended up calling Greensavers for the HVAC replacement quote and they were helpful, friendly and sympathetic to needing to get the job done quickly during a Portland winter and while the house is still vacant.

I hired them to do a shower valve replacement. The installer came over and while removing the valve, broke the pipe. He said it is cvpc pipe and is weak and gets brittle. Nevertheless, they cut two holes in two different closets to access the broken pipe in order to cap it. He didn't finish the job that day. They called to come back to fix the job the next day and we would pay a total of around $947. We told them we didn't want to do that as we thought the price was too high (the original quote to replace the valve was for $335). The next week, they sent a bill for $587 for a shower that doesn't work and two holes in two separate closets that we now have to pay for. The shower still isn't working after two weeks and today they told us we are looking to have work done for "free" as we were asking them to come back and fix the pipe they broke and replace the shower valve for $335. Needless to say, we will not be wanting to have them work on our plumbing again.

We have used Greenbox several times over the past couple years and have been happy with the results each time. We needed an outlet put in our fireplace for a new insert, and had our old 2-prong outlets updated at the same time. Jeff did a great job with the electrical and Brett did a great job with the drywall patching necessary after that job. We have had Devin out to do plumbing for us twice - first a complete re-do of a bad washer line hookup done by a previous plumber, and then he fixed our slow-running faucets. We were very happy with his work each time. Greenbox was able to fit us in very quickly, especially appreciated for the plumbing jobs. Everyone we have dealt with at Greenbox (technicians and office) has been a pleasure to work with; we would hire again anytime.

Great experience with Green Box Mechanical. Was able to get same day service for an outlet replacement that was wired unconventionally. Chris was knowledgeable and honest, answered all my “let me ask you this” scenarios. Pricing was great! Will for sure use Green Box Mechanical again!

Submitted a request for a quote via Angies List late in the afternoon. Got a call 15 minutes later. Electrician scheduled for the very next day. Arrived early, very courteous and completed the work very quickly. Absolutely no complaints or issues.

We were so pleased. They called followed up to our request and came out in a very timely fashion. They did great work, kept the area clean and were very reasonable. Can't say enough good about this company.

Very well. He arrived on time; was very professional, friendly. Looked at the toilet which was constantly running; cleaned out particles left when a gasket had been removed; reset water valve. Toilet works just fine; it took him perhaps 10 minutes; he did not charge me anything. Took down manufacturing info stated if this did not fix the problem to call and he would order the needed part and return. The problem appears to have been fixed. Impressed that he did not attempt to replace something unnecessarily and did not charge for the call.

I called Green Box, they responded within 1 hour, and a technician was onsite at 8 the next morning. Jeff was thorough and professional and discussed a number of options to deal with an older house. Excellent service and great company.

Their work was excellent, he knows exactly what I really need and gave a very good suggestion that the recessed lights will be best if the ceiling will be a dry walled. The Drywall guy came and installed the drywall. The bathroom looks great, professionally done, and I was very pleased with their work, with the recessed lights looks nice. They did a very good job, drywall guy Brett, electrician's name was Eric works good and they both did an excellent job. Very Knowledgeable employees.

This guy named Brian was supposed to show up and install a garbage disposal I bought from Lowe's, he met with me the week prior and he said he'd come the following Friday. Come Friday and I waited two hours and the guy doesn't call, didn't show up, and didn't call me back! I wouldn't know about the quality of this company's work but again, no one showed up!

Could not have asked for a better process or outcome. After providing one of the most competitive bids, Devin spent almost 2 weeks in our house completely replacing the water lines to 5 bathrooms, a kitchen, multiple outdoor taps, etc. etc. It was an excellent experience. He was super courteous, knowledgeable, cleaned up every night, worked hard, nothing phased him and he was very communicative both on timing, needs and explaining what he'd done. It was a huge job and went way better than I ever expected. I cannot recommend highly enough.
