+ -1 moreGene was absolutely great. He came out on the same day, extracted the broken old mortise lock in the front door, and determined that it was not fixable. He thought he might have one at home in his garage, but since this type of mortise lock is old, difficult to find, and rarely installed in doors anymore, I was skeptical. But, sure enough, he had a new one and came back and installed it twenty minutes later, saving me from having to order one that would likely have taken weeks to arrive. I highly recommend Gene.

Description of Work: Installed keyless locks on 3 doors, keyed all doors to use same key (including backup key for keyless locks). Re-keyed storm door locks. Also installed lever handle passage hardware on doors below deadbolts.

+ -1 moreGene was attentive and returned calls. Turns out I used Gene back in 1986 when I moved into my house and found all the locks were different and only one key which I'd left in the house. He opened the house and replaced all the locks for me.
Description of Work: Lost the key to a tool chest. Thought the lock needed to be picked. Gene researched the brand, ordered a blank, and made me a key in 2 days. only charged the cost of the new key.

Description of Work: Made two new keys for a Lista tool cabinet using the key code stamped on the lock. I removed the lock from the tool cabinet and took it to his shop.

+ -1 moreGene was very knowledgeable. He was a big help in understanding what he thought the problem was and providing a solution. Was nice enough to come out the same day with a little prodding. Did have a problem finding our house, but was in good humor when he arrived. Fixed my lock, made another modification to the latch and a suggestion about the threshold. This man is a gem and I would recommend to anyone. The cost was fair.
Description of Work: Explained to Gene problem with latch on front door. He did not want to come out and make a service call just to see if it could be fixed. After homework on my part, I called him back with my results and I ordered the part he thought we needed from the original manufacturer. He told me to call in a couple weeks when the part came in. I called & he was able to come out the same afternoon. Thank heavens his phone diagnosis was correct.

Description of Work: We've worked with Gene for the 7 years we've been in this location and have always been extremely pleased with his work, fast response and creative approach. Gene helped us set up the locks in our offices when our company bought our building, including the electronic ones with security keyboards, the heavy front doors, roll up gates and padlocks, etc. throughout the warehouse area and has helped us rekey periodically, as well as, add new locks when needed. I've also used his services in my home, where he is very quick to respond to requests and helpful in his recommendations. Gene understands that his business is directly related to a building's security rather than treating requests - especially emergencies - as troublesome as some of our past locksmiths had. Gene always has his calendar ready and is on the scene quickly.

Description of Work: GENE CAME OUT TO OUR LOCATION TO CHANGE LOCKS TO FIT A SINGLE KEY. HE ALSO INSTALLED A NEW DOOR HANDLE AND SEVERAL NEW LOCKS ON CABINETS. HE IS ABLE TO PROVIDE REPLACEMENT KEYS WITH JUST A LOCK NUMBER.
