GEN-CON INC

In 1993 Gen-con installed a solar hot water heater in my house. Now 20 years later, the solar hot water heater was no longer working and I am looking to get my roof redone. I looked at the solar hot water tank and found a sticker with Gen-con's name and phone number. I called. The same number worked after 20 years. After I gave him my address, Brent remembered some of the details of the system that they had installed so many years ago. I was quite impressed. Brent came out the same day and examined the installation. He sent be an estimate shortly thereafter. Brent and an assistant showed up exactly on time. They removed the solar panels on the roof, the heat exchanger tank in the basement and the pipes in-between.They worked very professionally -- they were quick, efficient, and they cleaned up after themselves. I am quite pleased with the work that they did and can recommend Gen-con as a good company to do business with.

Brent gave us the best of several quotes for a new SHW system, and also had the lowest ongoing maintenance costs. His system was less efficient than others we'd been quoted, but we felt the lack of maintenance made it comparable in terms of expected savings. He seemed very knowledgeable and professional and worked around our schedule for the installation. The only hold-ups were that the tank took a couple of weeks to come in (not his fault) and that some old wiring that wasn't up to code required a couple of inspections and an electrician to get right. Brent took care of all this and I've been happy with the system for the past couple of weeks. More to come after winter!

They did a great job with my install. They were prompt and courteous. They filled out all of the paperwork for the tax credits. The system looks very professional. Brent thought that the east face of my roof would be the best bet for the panels. I was a little concerned because what I read about solar pool heating was that it should be on the south facing roof. However Brent assured me that the system would work well on the East facing roof. He was correct and the system works very well at heating my pool. I was very happy with the service and quality of products used.

These guys were great. Competitive bid and very responsive. Brent explained what he was going to do and what it would cost. Nothing deviated from his plan. After the install he did a great job explaining what he did and what I need to do for maintenance in the future. This is how business should be done, couldn't ask for anything more.
