Description of Work: Never returned my phone call.

Description of Work: I called five painters on July 31st to get estimates on several different jobs. One called me back within 24 hours, Fresh paint called me back after five days and three others never called me back. I know it's a busy time but these providers are going to want us when it's not busy.

Description of Work: I hired Fresh Paint to re-paint the exterior of my house and had a terrific experience. PROS: high quality paint job, lead paint encapsulation, no delay in scheduling, and a very good price. The company was super easy to work with and even threw in some upgrades at no charge. CONS: None. The overall experience was outstanding and I will hire them again. I called Fresh Paint because I needed to have the exterior of my house painted, but I got a lot of more mileage from hiring this company since they also offer general contacting services. The owner, Randy, has painting crews and carpentry crews so in addition to the exterior paint job, Fresh Paint also fixed the flashing on my roof, replaced dry root wood on my dormer, and repaired a hole in a bedroom closet. When the carpenters were here, I asked for a small fence to be erected in the side yard and they were very accommodating. It was a small extra charge to add the fence because it was outside of the scope of the original contract, but the price was very reasonable since the carpenters were already here. This was the advantage of working with Fresh Paint because they offer general contracting services. If I had hired only a painting company, I would have had to manage two different companies and I think I would have paid a lot more. Picking Fresh Paint from the beginning was an easy choice. Before signing the contract with Fresh Paint, I got one other estimate from a painting company that was 40% more expensive than Fresh Paint, offered a smaller scope of work (Fresh Paint included carpentry work with their quote), AND the other company had a 4-week delay in starting. Fresh Paint was the clear winner. I signed the contract with Fresh Paint to repaint the exterior on a Thursday and work was totally finished the following Wednesday. The new paint job looks wonderful. Even our neighbors have said how much better the house looks. I recommend Fresh Paint to anyone in Portland and am looking forward to my next home improvement project with them!

Description of Work: Fresh Paint did some room by room painting in our soon to be "old" house in November. We like their work so much we hired them again. We purchased a home built in 1992 that had been vacant for 2 years. Fresh Paint, owned by Dyrayll Goad, completely painted the interior of the home for us in January.

Description of Work: This was not an easy job - we had the ~40 year old aluminum siding taken off our 1911Portland box and what was underneath was not a pretty sight. The peeling paint was particularly bad on the south side of the house but the Fresh Paint crew did a fantastic job of power washing, removing the paint (undoubtedly lead based), prepping and painting the house. It looks fantastic.

Description of Work: Fresh Paint stepped in to complete the job started by Joe Martin Painting. I had to fire Mr Martin because of his poor paint work, his severe neglect in failing to supervise his men, his destruction of valuable art in my home, his continual leaving my front door standing open despite serious danger to my dog and home contents ( I live in a busy area with heavy foot traffic, as well as busy streets). He was not able to return my stove to its normal position and expected me to live with it jutting seven inches out from the surrounding counters. And he was threatening and abusive when I tried to talk with him about the many problems. So Mr. Goad and his men walked into a mess, which they cheerfully and competently remedied. Fresh Paint had to totally repaint two rooms botched by Joe Martin and had to repaint a fifteen foot wall above the staircase, which Joe Martin had painted partially, leaving about four inches at the top unpainted. A skylight had also been only partially painted by Joe Martin, again leaving about four inches at the top unpainted. They had to paint almost all the woodwork and closet doors in the areas Joe Martin had supposedly finished. That included all the trim on the landing and master bathroom, sink room and master bedroom. There were several spots in the downstairs of my home that Joe Martin had not painted at all (he was supposed to apply two coats everywhere) that Fresh Paint had to go back and paint. After fixing all Joe Martin's messes, Fresh Paint went on to paint another bathroom with a skylight, and my study. Both of these rooms had not been touched by Joe Martin, fortunately. Mr. Goad has a great, open personality and it was very easy to deal with him about everything that came up. He had two men in my home for two days and both were pleasant, competent swift workers. Mr. Goad worked with his men on the last two days, bringing in a fourth man on the final day. All were absolutely great to have around and very competent in their work. The paint Joe Miller had purchased was Miller's lowest quality and had poor covering ability. Mr. Goad bought new higher quality paint for certain areas, which helped with job time and quality. Mr. Martin did no prep work at all. Mr. Goad prepped everywhere, using tape and sanding all shiny surfaces first. The cleanup was very good; all mess and garbage was removed and they even vacuumed. Joe Martin had let my small dog out the front door of my house 10 times in four days; nothing I said or did had any impact on the danger created. I did not even need to discuss dog safety with Mr. Goad's team. They all knew how to handle the front door without letting her out: she did not get outside one time in their four days with me. My suggestions to the crew seemed always welcome; they were eager to do the best job possible and keep the customer happy. A VERY welcome change from my experience with Joe Martin.
