October 11, 2009 ordered a sofa. There would be approx a 5 month wait, but I did not mind as I was impressed with sofa on the showroom floor. It reclined and also had a feature with reversible head rests that in the forward position you use while you recline and you can remove and flip around back wards when couch is upright for a streamline look. These were the 2 main selling points for buying the sofa. Feb 17th received sofa, noticed one side of the recline would not stay closed. Called next day, told them about situation, they gave me phone number to a contractor who works on furniture. Very helpful. That weekend Feb 20th-21st I also noticed the headrests were not operating in the same manner that had been demonstrated on the showroom floor. When you reversed them they did not sink down far enough to go evenly with the couch. Next week, the contractor came out and said he would need to take sofa to his shop. At that time I mentioned the headrests to him. I wanted to make sure the store was aware of the headrests before the couch was picked up so, on the weekend of Feb 27th, 28th, I went in person to the store and mentioned the head rests to the sales person who sold me the sofa. She was aware that my couch was being worked on. Mar 3 sofa was picked up. Early the next week, received message that the sofa would be dropped off on the 10th. I called on the 9th to see if the headrests had also been fixed. They said that was the 1st time they heard about it and they would call me back. That evening I received message from them. They said that the showroom floor model was a fluke and for some reason the headrests operate differently than on the couch I received. And they were trying to find out from the manufacturer how it's supposed to work. But they were dropping the couch off anyway. The next morning, on the 10th, I called to see if they would keep the couch until the head rest situation was settled. I was told that everybody in the store was in a debate over the head rests and there were strong opinions on the matter the manufacturer was adamant that they in fact flip back like on the showroom floor, but the owner is saying no, that they are only designed to be in the forward position. I said I was willing to take the showroom floor model, (and take a color of leather I did not want), in order to have the headrest feature. I got no response to this comment. They told me the couch was on its way already and, depending on the outcome of some answer from the manufacturer ,they may order me a new couch. So I received the couch that day (the recliner part was fixed). The next 2 days I did not hear back from them. So I called on the 13th. They still had no information. On the 15th, the sales person called back and said that the owner and manufacturer said that the headrests were not designed to flip around like on the showroom floor and that she had improperly showed me even though the manager had showed her that.
