+ 0 moreHe did great. He was quick, clean and timely. He was friendly and courteous and didn't even complain when he ended up finding and old birds' nest in our ceiling (the birds "nest" filled a shopvac 3 times. His seams looked great and the walls and ceiling look new. Instead of spending $3000 (other people's estimates to redo the entire walls) Dean said he could repair the seams. We saved time, materials and our sanity by using Dean. He will definitely be back to do some carpentry and plumbing work for us. We would recommend him again in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: Dean put up sheet rock on two walls that we had built up for new windows and patched up the walls in the bathrooms where we removed two electric wall heaters. He also redid the old drywall seams in the ceiling in the first room. The walls look great the seams are not noticeable at all.

+ 2 moreDean is a true craftsman. Replacing an exterior door on a 1912 craftsman-style house while preserving architectural integrity is no mean feat. Dean made it look easy. We really appreciated his meticulous attention to detail. It's plain that his work both looks great & is built to last. It's icing on the cake that he is a person who's easy to talk to & performs the work with professionalism & punctuality. Dean always kept us promptly apprised of the progress & any minor adjustments as the work moved forward. His price was also quite reasonable, especially considering the quality.
Description of Work: Dean removed the old back door, casing, & jambs & installed a vintage back door & lock set, weather-sealing all (jambs, sill, casing, foam insulation). He increased the height of the back door opening, adding 2x6 headers & jack studs & replacing rotten sill supports with treated lumber. He also stiffened up the back stair landing by gluing and screwing in a 3/4 plywood sub-floor, adding 2x6 sister joists. He finished interior plaster & exterior siding to match.
