The estimator was very good at stating exactly what would be done, and what the cost would be. The work was done as stated, though it ended up taking quite a bit longer than expected due to traffic problems and the electrician's health issues. He totally cleaned up after himself when done. Both the estimator and electrician were very pleasant to work with. The total cost was exactly as estimated.
Description of Work: Replaced 5 electrical heat thermostats, replaced one kitchen light with two, replaced closet light, added two outdoor motion detectors, added two outdoor outlets, slightly revised light switch configuration on porch.

The ball was dropped a couple of times in the hand-off between parties, but they scheduled and showed up without too much delay. The electrician was generally professional. However, my space is small and I work from home so when he wanted to talk, which was most of the time there was no place for me to escape to. As a result he worked more slowly and I should bill him for investment advice. The work was performed well. However, when I received the bill it was 50% more than estimated. I had tracked the time spent and it was over by 2 1/4 hours. When I called to inquire I was told that I had to pay for travel time from his house, which was on the opposite side of town, something that I was not informed about at the time of estimate. Further, that I had to pay for LUNCH time as he "was unable to work on any other job since he was at my site". I have employed a lot of people of the years and never in my life have I heard of a hourly employee being paid for lunch.
Description of Work: Installed 3 additional lights, two additional electrical outlets and 3 dimmer switches into a condominium.

Response from DYNALECTRIC CO
1-THE MEMBER DID NOT TELL ABOUT THE EXTRA WORK DONE BEYOND THE ORIGINAL SCOPE OF WORK REQUESTED. 2-THERE WAS NOT A FIRM QUOTE GIVEN DUE TO THE TYPE OF WORK ASKED FOR, AND THE WAY THAT IT WAS REQUEST TO BE BE PULL THROUGH THE EXISTING WALLS. 3-THE MEMBER FORGOT TO SAY THAT THERE WAS A CREDIT GIVEN ON HIS BILL. 4-THIS WAS DURING A SNOW STORM AND THE CITY GOVERNMENT WAS SAYING TO STAY HOME. HE IS CORRECT THAT WE SHOULD HAVE CALLED HIM, ABOUT THE SLOW RESPONSE TIME DUE TO SNOW.
