BEWARE! I hired DialOne to install a new roof in December 2017. When they were done, two of our plants had been destroyed, our basketball hoop was face down on the driveway with a smashed backboard, and nails, plastic strips, soda cans, food wrappers, and shingles were spread throughout our yard. I spent 4 hours picking things up in the first week after the roof was installed, but we continued to find things over the next 3 years. The nails they used were too long, resulting in split wood on the underside of the plywood, visible from within our attic, and also visible on the eaves on the front porch, etc. They chipped my siding in several locations. I called them to come take a look at some of these things, and they told me that was normal, but then the owner discovered something wrong with part of my roof, and had the crew come back out. Had I not called them, I doubt the owner would have caught the issue. Fast forward to January 2023, when I discovered a mold issue in our attic above two bathrooms. It became apparent that DialOne had simply removed two vents, and covered the vent openings with roofing, resulting in two bathroom vents emptying directly into my attic. That entire attic area had a mold issue that I paid $1,150 to another company to remediate. I emailed DialOne but never heard back. I then called DialOne to inform them what happened, and they claimed they never received the email, that their crew did not cover up the vents, and they insisted the house was like this before they installed the new roof. After weeks of back and forth, I finally shared with them photos from Google Earth showing an aerial view of my roof. As expected, the roof had 3 vents prior to DialOne installing the roof, and had only 1 vent after. At that point, DialOne contacted me, apologized, and told me that crew was a bad crew and they stopped using them. I guess they think I hired the crew and did not hire DialOne? In my mind, the crew was DialOne. Do you trust a company that scapegoats workers and avoids accountability? When I first contacted them in January 2023, DialOne was originally planning to charge me to install these two vents, even though they should have never covered them up, per our original contract. It wasn't until they saw the before/after photos that they relented. This process took about 2 months of back and forth. At the end of it, I asked if they would review their Errors & Omissions Insurance policy to see if it covered this; they never got back to me. In early July 2023, I emailed them asking them for reimbursement of the $1,150 I paid for mold remediation that was a direct result of them covering up vents. They did not respond. I then called them 11 days after sending the email, and left a voice mail indicating I would like a response before August 1, or I would hire a lawyer and also seek reimbursement of the $1,150 plus any legal expenses. I received an email from them the same day, where DialOne informed me that the contract resolved them of any liability. The section of the contract they referred to states: "Any change to existing ventilation systems for project will be done at Owner’s written authorization, and Owner agrees to bear all liability for any subsequent damage due or related to ventilation changes. Owner acknowledges, agrees, and releases Dial One Roofing from any and all liability related to venting, air flow issues, and/or any assumed connection with microorganisms or mold." We did not ask them to change a ventilation system. In addition, our contract states "Install Bathroom Baffle Vents, Connect tube to bathroom vents", which they clearly did not do. So now I have to hire an attorney to get this company to be held accountable for an obvious error on their part. This is apparently not the first time the DialOne tried to blame its "crew" for a problem, per what is written in this BBB complaint: [*** Link removed ***]

They installed a flat roof without a vapor barrier for the previous owners. The roof was 2 years old and having issues, soaked through our bathroom and cieling. The owner refused to take any responsibility for his horrible work and likes to repeat multiple times that his work his immaculate and he does no wrong. He is charging us $160 to install a vent to rectify the issue. Warning! Their positive reviews are fake they seriously do not know what they are doing. They are argumentative, as you will see in their response and take no responsibility for their errors. Customer service is 0. They will do everything in their power to blame the issue on something else and try to skirt around the actual cause. He went as far as saying water was getting in under our house, we have had people checking there is no moisture underneath and that would be impossible. I have warned people on private facebook groups and Nextdoor and I have received so many private messages from people about their horrible work and their character on previous jobs. Trust me its not worth it do not give them a chance!

fantastic. After two other "roofers" Wade gave me an honest opinion in confirmed my roof had still about 5 years left (something the "others" denied, it was in urgent need of replacement ) Wade even fixed some minor issues. I will definitely recommend Dial One Roof and give them a call back in 5 years. Thanks WADE!!

I wanted an estimate for a complete re-roof. I live right off I-84 by the airport. I was told that I am too far out of their "area". If they have an "area" - it needs to be listed on Angies List, so they won't put their business in a list of providers for this service. But Angie's List wouldn't know this since it isn't anywhere in their Angie's information.

The owner came to our home after our initial phone inquiry, and diagnosed the problem post haste. He provided an document of costs on site, printed in his van, followed by scheduling of the work crew, which completed the job in only one work day. The work crew were suspicious of another area of leakage on the roof while repairing the major problem. The owner use a hand held IR "gun" to spot another leak from inside the home...., unknown to us, which was repaired the next day. I recommend this company without any reservation. These folks run an efficient and professional business, and I believe they are honest on all fronts!
Description of Work: The provider accurately diagnosed the source of water intrusion from our roof, and repaired the problem in one work day! The roofing crew was on time, efficient, and courteous. The owner also found another unknown source of water intrusion and repaired that problem as well. He used an IR hand held device inside the home pointed at the ceiling to find another leak.

[Member name removed], as a certified roofing installer for the last 36 years, you and I both DID see the problem, you were there, and we discussed it. The trusses under your roofing were pulling away from the building, and someone needs to remove the roof in that area, fix the roof trusses and framing, resheet it, then put on a new roof. Unfortunately, the $49 coupon you purchased to fix your leak will not quite cut it for a job of this magnitude. This is why we sent you a written estimate, along with recommendations and product specifications for the project. If you would have proceeded with the work, we would have gladly credited you the value of the coupon towards the proper job. Rightfully, you should have and did recieved your $49 back from Angies List, as the offer purchased was intended to for a one time visit doing our 'leak repair' service, and not intended towards entire re roofs. I hope this makes sense to you, and as always were here to help if you need us.

Description of Work: Came out to do inspection/estimate for a small leak. Was told that it would be necessary for me to replace all of the vents on the roof. Owner, Wade, said he would get back to me with estimate. Never heard from him again and he did not return my phone calls or emails. Had two other contractors come out and had the repair completed and it was a minor job - no replacement of vents. Poor response and felt like it was a bait and switch. Paid my $99 and then told job would be major but never heard back.

{removed member name}, We received your review on Angies list. I'm sorry you don't feel you received value in your purchase of a $99 leak repair. On April 1st, 2014, I came to your home in Gresham and met with you. After you showed me the area of your leakage, I climbed up into your attic, and noticed the area of your leakage concern was the vent area. I climbed down from the attic, and then used our infrared water detection camera on your living room interior ceiling in the area of leaks, which showed that the area was completely dry. You then told me the roof was under warranty by a previous roofer, and that you were going to contact him. I then climbed on the roof, sealed up the other areas of possible concern by sealing holes in the roof, sealing pipe collars, flashing, as the work order you purchased required. I then wrote up a report of the problems and provided that to you. On April 3rd, 2014, you emailed me, and stated that your original roofing installer "came by my house and thoroughly inspected vents and talked to me about the issues that you and I discussed and best determination at this point is that the leakage was due to snow melt in the attic space when snow came in vents. He mentioned that he had replaced vents for one customer with a similar type problem but that it did not stop the snow from coming in during a future snowstorm." On July 28, you emailed us asking for the money back for services that were already provided,"Since you are not able to perform the repair work for me, can I expect you to reimburse me for the $99 that I spent for the Groupon which was to cover repairs". I'm sorry that you don't feel you have received the roofing service that we provided, although we guided you through the repair process, provided reports and images, discussed the roofing problems, and gave you recommendations for other contractors for other services we do not provide. Because of that, I will be asking our office to refund you $99. Hopefully this will make your whole situation.

I did some research and found Dial One with good reviews. Bought the roof package from Amazon local. Wade was very informative and explained everything. Even tried to help me get my stupid oven unlocked. Basically the roof is like a trampoline so he said when we have a new roof put on we'll have to fix that. We will definitely be calling Dial One to do the roof, no shopping around. I feel very comfortable with him, I didn't get a feeling he was selling me something I don't need and definitely honest. He reminded me of my Papa, just a nice guy doing what he knows to do. Highly recommend Dial One Roofing in Portland! Thank you Angie's List and Amazon Local! When it comes to things like the roof, floor and siding you want someone who knows what they are doing. I felt comfortable with his knowledge. I am finding that owning a home is like adding a bunch of contractors and repair people to my family list. Making connections that will last many years.
Description of Work: Just bought a house which was a nightmare closing. Stay away from Remax, Thom Butts and Stacie Loders! Part of the contract was a roof cert but never got one.

This is a top-notch team. From estimating right through to completion of work, the team was amazing. The inside staff made sure to keep a difficult schedule intact while the expert crew on the job were precise and efficient. When the crew finished up, there was no sign they had ever been there, besides the fabulously-repaired roof! Needless to say, my wife and I are very impressed. I'm relieved to finally find a great roofing company.

I was unsure if my house needed a new roof, so I called Dial One Roofing. They have done a ton of houses in our neighborhood and everyone seems to love them. It was a Saturday morning when I called and I left a message. Within 15 minutes the owner Wade gave me a call. He said he could stop by that same day at 3:00. When he showed up at exactly 3:00 he was very professional and easy to talk to. After taking out his ladder and gong up onto the roof he informed me that I didn't have to have a new roof now. He estimated that it could last five or more years. He even went over what to look out for to determine if a roof needs replacing. I was so impressed with his honesty and useful information I asked him to measure the roof anyway and give be an estimate. I know I am going to stay in my house for a long time, so I was excited about the lifetime warranty of one of the roofs he recommended. I know I could have waited five years, but I'm sure it would cost more and mine by then should still look brand new. It only took his crew three days and they performed the job beautifully. The crew was courteous and did a great job with cleanup. My roof looks beautiful and I don;'t have to worry about it again.
Description of Work: I was unsure if my house needed a new roof, so I called Dial One Roofing. They provided a thorough examination of the health of my roof and informed me that my roof could last a few more years. I am a very proactive person and plan on living in my house for a long time, so I decided to have it replaced so I don't need to worry about it.

The home improvement store declined to provide references for their contractor and promised to have Dial One contact me directly. I spoke with the home improvement store on 2 occasions regarding my reference info and they promised to have Dial One call me with that information. I never heard from Dial One. For this reason I think they deserve the "D" rating they already have.
Description of Work: This company is associated with our local home improvement store near SE 82nd Ave. You pay the home improvement store for the work, but it is Dial One that does the job. (Member name removed) 10154 SE 45th Ave Portland, OR 97222-5207 503-654-1307 Thank you for the review on Angies List. My understanding is that you went into a local home improvement store, and asked them for references about our company. " I spoke with the home improvement store rep in their commercial sale department on 3 separate occasions trying to get references re: Dial One performance" I'm not at all sure why you would go to a home improvement store asking about any outside installation companies, but apparently you feel we have some affiliation with them. I assure you we are an independent roofing installation company, and employees from a home improvement store would have no information or connection to our company, except for a possible referral, which we do receive from time to time. Apparently, we are getting the grade because you spoke to a guy in a store who had no interest in our business whatsoever, never sent us any information, and never got back to you. Additionally, it looks like you didn't contact our company directly, nor hire us for any work. Please consider changing or removing your information to properly reflect the work that we have done for you. We have done a terrrific job for many customers, and your grade does not give an accurate representation of the quality work that we do. Going forward, if there is anything we can do to help you with your roofing projects, please feel free to contact our offices at 503-244-4300

Overall, the installation was good except for the large leak. Dial One repaired the leak. They finally agreed to pay $4,500 in damages only after an insurance adjuster threatened a lawsuit. Dial One was very slow to respond to phone calls and questions. They were very slow in paying the bills and had to be hounded. They were quick to make the sale, but not professional with the problems. We will not hire them back for 2 other large roofing projects.
Description of Work: We are a townhouse HOA in Lake Oswego. Dial One Roofing replaced a flat roof on a building (7 townhouses) in Summer 2004. The membrane material is GAF, 60 Mil, TPO Roofing -15 year warranty, with new pipe collars, metal vents, scuppers, and parapet cap metals. Dial One installed the roof, but did not seal an area - their mistake. The next heavy rain caused $4,500 of water damage to a townhouse. Dial One did not want to pay for repairs caused by their negligence. Beware a clause in their contract: ''The work above involves altering a pre-existing condition and/or structure, therefore property owner agrees to hold harmless Dial One Roofing of any damages incurred as a result of the above repair.'' The damage was caused by their mistake in the installation, but they tried to hide behind the clause.

Company installed wrong color roofing shingles, and did not remove and replace all of the old felt (something we later discovered). I spent a month trying to get them to return my phone calls and even filed a complaint with the BBB (which they have still not answered). A month later they scheduled a re-roof, showed up late and under-staffed, unable to complete job before nightfall, leaving roof exposed to the felt in some areas and exposed to wood in others with no tarping on a stormy rainy night. They came back to tarp it after I phoned that this was unacceptable. They backed a dumpster into the corner of my garage and broke security light. Repeatedly told me they would be "right over" night after night for a week to empty my garbage can (which they filled with roofing material). Now 2 months from the original roofing date, I still do not have new gutters and have not heard from them.
Description of Work: Contracted to remove old roof & felt, installed new roof & felt, and installed new gutters on my home.
