He was very fast and efficient, and we're glad we can rely on him to help with our skylights. He always does great work and we'd recommend him to anyone.

He installed the windows to the specifications as required by Energy Trust. In fact the inspector said they were done better than most. When he gave us the estimate, he alluded to "his" men doing the work. But, actually he had a sub-contractor do it. Derek was here to start them off and was back at the end of the day. It was a very long day - until after 7pm. We suspect that one reason it took so long was that the sub-contractor was waiting for Derek's approval. Also, when he gave us the estimate, we were under the impression that we "could" replace the inside trim at the same time as the window installation. We decided against doing that and told him so. But, as it turned out, he always removes the trim and since it sometimes breaks, the customer should be prepared to replace it. We weren't. We were faced with a lot of clean-up to the trim, windows, and caulking that was applied with dirty hands. As the Energy Trust inspector said, "Getting the windows installed properly is more important than dealing with the mess afterwards."
