Terrible. John Ruppert of Denali is a man of a million excuses. He also pretty much abandoned the project as he was busy dealing with "personal issues" for three weeks. I have already sent a letter to Denali/John Ruppert with my intention to file a complaint with the CCB regarding his conduct. Also, I expect some compensation due to his breach of contract. It started out ok with the initial demolition. But it all went down hill from there: 1) On day 1 I asked him to remove two ceiling light fixtures that we really liked so that they wouldn't get damaged. Never done and the dining table chandelier was damaged by the flooring installers. Hasn't been fixed or addressed. John just left the parts in the garage and walked away 2) Flooring subcontractor broke dining chandelier and damaged walls 3) Never ordered backsplash tile for hall and master bath. 4) Did fix window trim in kitchen even 6) Didn't finish fencing - claimed that his supplier did not have any 8'x6" planks of wood - fence posts for over a month in the ground with no fence. 7)... Anyway, we finally had to call it quits as he said that he would have to leave this job if I couldn't wait for 3 more weeks for him to be able to address the issues.

Contractor remodeled a bathroom. The work did come in on budget however at the cost of quality and cutting corners. Contractor subcontracts the work. Contractor did not verify quality of work of if the shower did even work. Had to call every step of the way because things did not work as they should. Just one example of many more: when we finally turned on the new shower, we realized immediately that the drain was clogged. The grout that gotten into the drain and clogged it up. Had anyone just turned on the shower once, it would have been noticed. After some months, the shower leaked as the work performed initially was not done up to par. Contractor did fix the initial problem but left the repair unfinished and never bothered to return emails or phones calls. We had to hire someone else to finish the work. Terrible experience with this contractor. His bid was more competitive than his competitors but it was not worth the hassle. In general, contractor is very unresponsive.

The experience was very positive. John came to our house for a bid and did a thorough assessment of the work needing to be done. He supplied a written bid that we accepted. We hired him on a Tuesday. He anticipated a three day project, started the job first thing Wednesday and his crew was substantially finished by Friday(with a quick visit on Saturday to pick up some debris and bring an additional sheet of plywood for the floor). The two people on his crew that were assigned to our job were hard-working and they cleaned up after themselves each day. We were pleased with the end result.
Description of Work: We needed to have a double fireplace removed from our main floor to the roof. This involved some roof repair, and building a sub floor where the fire place used to be. We also had a pocket door removed/opened up and some cabinets removed in preparation for an eventual kitchen remodel. We did not request any finish work-everything we've done so far has been demo or roughed in.

Denali can be difficult to get a hold of at times. The contractor did provide his personal cell phone number and that helped improve our daily communication during the project. All the sub-contractors did excellent work. The only problem sub-contractor was the tile installer. He dropped out of sight for about 3 days without telling the contractor and caused some delay in the project. The contractor was in the process of bringing in a backup tile installer when out of the blue the other guy shows up. That is the contractors problem but I personally would put him on my secondary list and not on my primary sub-contractor list. The tile work was excellent except for the second bathroom floor tile in two places had grout problems the day after the project ended. Needs to be regrouted and we have a call to the contractor to send him back.
Description of Work: This involved two bathroom remodels. The contractor was very careful to cover with heavy paper all the oak floors and to go over the work that was to be done. The main bathroom was done first by removing an old oak vanity and mirror, removing the toilet, removing the vinyl flooring, and removing the shower doors. The remodel installed wainscoting, a new American Standard console sink, new American Standard toilet, new 12" tile flooring, new recessed medicine cabinet, new shower doors, and hung a Pottery Barn storage cabinet over the toilet, and installed a wall hung vanity mirror. All the painting was done by the owner. The second bathroom followed after the first bathroom was finished. Removed the toilet and demolitioned the old shower space and all the flooring. The remodel installed new 4" tile flooring, new 12" floor to ceiling shower tile, and new shower door hardware. We reused the old shower glass doors and the toilet. All the painting was done by the owner.
