The work was completed in a timely manner at a price we found reasonable. Scott is a hard worker and knows his business. We didn't even go out to bid once we met Scott and discussed the project; we were confident that his price would not be beat and that his was the right business for the decommission ... we like to support the small independent businesses when the skills and the needs match up. Scott is a one-man operation, decommissioning oil tanks is all he does, and he physically earned every dollar it cost us for the decommission. He is professional and friendly, organized and dedicated, and he did a wonderful job of cleaning up the affected area after the work was done. We will not likely have another oil tank in our future, but if we did and needed it decommissioned I would hire Decommissions Northwest again.

They came and inspected the site, made an accurate quote that and did all the paperwork associated with the cleanup. There was a slight delay in between sampling and the final decommission and the price seemed a little higher than I would have imagined but it has been on my mind for over ten years so I'm taking that into consideration.

Scott is nice, easy to work with, and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions and did a good job.
Description of Work: He took several soil samples around my buried oil tank. He submitted these to a company for testing. When the results came back showing a small leak, but a very low level of contamination, he explained everything to me. Then he drained the tank, cleaned out the sludge, and filled the tank with a lightweight material. He submitted a long, detailed report to Oregon Dept. of Environmental Services (as per their regulations) for their approval and sent me a copy of the report.

Scott was very professional and honest. I told him my situation and he told me that Decommissions would not be the best company of my type of issue. He recommended another company. It is hard to find this kind of honesty and integrity today.

Description of Work: Dug up an old oil tank, confirmed that it had been filled with sand. He took core samples to confirm that it had not leaked, then filed necessary paperwork with the Oregon DEQ. Scott was very professional and we thought his price was excellent.

He arrived early to evaluate the project. Took samples of the soil and decommissioned the tank after the results were received. My soil was clean so he had to clean out the tank and fill it. I got a certification stating that the oil tank was decommissioned. He left the area clean. No problems at all.

Scott was able to fit me in pretty quickly. He was good about communicating what needed to be done, and I found him professional and courteous. Would definitely recommend.
Description of Work: I'm selling my home and couldn't find the paperwork proving the oil tank had been decommissioned. Scott came out, dug down and confirmed the tank had been filled with sand, and took soil samples to have tested, and then filed the paperwork with the DEQ.

Description of Work: Scott was very professional and prompt. He was very willing to talk with me about the process, I appreciated his friendliness. He also cleaned up after his work was done. This price includes travel and I am about 30 miles from Portland. I felt it was very reasonable. I would recommend him to a friend

Our oil tank was in an unusual location. The work involves taking several samples and then doing the work. We were happy with the outcome and especially with the way the job was completed and the concrete in the area was replaced. Decommissions was very professional.

I was very pleased with Scott's work. He did the job as bid, on budget and on schedule. He kept me informed at all stages of the process. I have recommended him to others who are in a similar situation to my own.
Description of Work: We have an old oil tank in our backyard which needed to be decommissioned. Scott was the only contractor who bid the job based on going directly to soil gas testing, as opposed to massive dirt excavation, which would have been quite challenging due to the logistics of our yard and house. He thought the problem through strategically and all went as planned. Yes, it was an expensive job, but I honestly believe that if I had gone with other contractors who wanted to take all the dirt out, I would ultimately have ended up spending as much money (or more), with the added hassles to myself and my neighbors of removing 3 tons of dirt in an area with no real access for heavy equipment. Scott was extremely professional and polite throughout, keeping me informed of the process and taking the time to talk to my neighbors as needed. I highly recommend his work.

Everything was "by the numbers". For each step, Scott was able to schedule a visit within a few days. He showed up when promised and was flexible about scheduling around our needs. There was no "upselling". Scott did the work himself and was quick, quiet and tidy. We got a single bill at the end of the job that was inclusive of Scott's work and the various DEQ filing fees.
Description of Work: Scott helped us locate and confirm the decommission of a heating oil tank. The work consisted of searching for the tank, doing a partial excavation, inspecting the tank, sampling the surrounding soil, and (most importantly) preparing the necessary DEQ documents.

We were very impressed with Scott and would highly recommend to anyone needing prompt, professional service at a reasonable price.

Scott was professional and courteous from start to finish. He was punctual, concerned with quality, and quick! There are a few companies that were slightly cheaper, but those other companies seemed to be of a lesser quality than Scott. We choose Scott because he seemed like a thorough, dedicated, good natured professional and we were right on. We are very happy with our choice. I would hire Scott again in a second.
Description of Work: We needed to have our oil tank decommissioned because we are switching to radiant heat. We downloaded a list from the Portland DEQ oil tank page, and Scott's company was listed with them. Scott was prompt and professional in his scheduling of the estimate and offered a very complete and thorough package. He was the same person to come and do the work, which was nice. We were impressed by his professionalism, commitment to quality, and his good natured personality. Great experience.
