We hired DeMarco for a quick repair of our wood fence that fell down in a wind storm. Diego and Andres did a superb job matching the new section of fence with the rest of it. They showed up on time, performed high quality work, cleaned up promptly, and were transparent with pricing. Communication with the crew and Joe DeMarco was very easy via text and phone. I appreciate DeMarco's honest opinion on how to approach this project. He took the time to understand my situation, goals, and budget. Joe DeMarco and his incredibly dedicated crew of craftsmen built a shed and gazebo for the Peninsula Optimist Club, a non-profit that I serve and support, in North Portland. He generously performed the work at cost and went above and beyond by providing the Club with the highest quality of materials, floor to roof, so that the structure stands for decades to come! Joe did all of this for a program that inspires hope and optimism in local youth programming within the actual community he grew up in, in the neighborhood where he and his wife now reside. Thank you, DeMarco Builders, for investing in our youth! I wanted a similar shed built on our property on the Clackamas River, but worried that it might be too small of a job to ask DeMarco Construction to take on. Joe did not disappoint! He made sure to listen to what I had in mind and allowed me to be a part of the design conversation. Let me rephrase that - the owner of the company communicated directly with me about my vision for our project! Within weeks of firming up the plan, materials were delivered and Diego, one of DeMarco Construction’s crew leaders, and his carpenters showed up bright and early one morning last month and two and a half days later, my 11’x18’ storage shed was built and ready to fill!! Like the one he built for the Peninsula Optimist Club, I expect this one to stand against the elements of the Clackamas River for, at least, the rest of my life.

My wife and I called Joe after having a bad experience trying to get some preliminary work done with a different contractor on a loft apartment and deck for our mountain home. Joe talked with us immediately, concerned that our location was out of the scope of travel for his team, but then generously reconsidered. He gave us a design plan and budget, we agreed, and work started within a week. Joe’s follow-through is impeccable, and he consulted with us and his team all along the way to make any adjustments and make sure we were getting the results we wanted. Joe’s attention to our needs and cost considerations, plus the skill of his team in executing, and his eye for hiring experienced subcontractors when necessary, proved the difference from others in all aspects of the design/build process. DeMarco Builders showed us what a professional contractor and experienced crafts persons can do on a home remodel, and we are completely satisfied. It has been well worth the time and cost to see this project executed with honesty, commitment and knowledge.. In the course of only 8 months, De Marco Builders has done great work for us on three different house projects in California and Oregon. They’re thorough, imaginative, resourceful, and deliver as promised. His crew and subcontractors have been very competent and a pleasure to interact with. They can handle everything from concept, architecture, estimating, material selection, civil engineering, permitting, to building and finish, on small projects to complete tear downs. Joe’s worked tirelessly on our behalf. We are currently looking into working with him on a fourth house.

I reached out to Joe directly, owner of DeMarco Builders, after a run in with a few shady contractors. I had a large, complete interior home remodel and was in desperate search for the right group to work with: DeMarco Builders delivered, and then some. I knew that my project was going to be very expensive and had a very practical, but tight budget of under 160k. Joe was very professional; he tirelessly worked with me every step of the way to ensure that the final project cost was within means and that the quality of work was exceptional. Additionally, we worked together to accommodate an aggressive timeline for the project's completion. I have found them to be unparalleled in both their craftsmanship and professionalism- something that I was starting to have my doubts that I would ever find in this current market.

After a horrible experience with an unprofessional engineer, we finally got plans approved by the city to convert our garage into an accessible ADU for my elderly parents. Joe picked up the project, and did an amazing job correcting the mess he was given. His team fixed multiple issues with the original plans, negotiated with the city, and spent tons of time chatting with my very particular parents to try to make their home just the way they wanted it. Their “cottage” is gorgeous, and I only wish we had know about Joe and used his team from the begining.

We recently finished a basement remodel with Joe and DeMarco Builders, and they've been incredibly responsive and helpful throughout the process. Although our project was smaller than some of his others, Joe has still made us feel like a priority and always makes time for us. His staff is professional and hardworking, and Joe has a great eye for taking a project from concept all the way through to completed design. He had a great visions for the space, but left room for our ideas and opinions. The result was a beautifully finished basement that is now nicer than the rest of our house! They won't be the cheapest quote you get, but their work is of excellent quality. If you're looking for a good design-build contractor, we highly recommend them.

We hired an architect who drew us a plan that didn't fit in our property. It was for a 2 car garage with an apartment on the second level. It had to match our 1890 victorian. We contacted DM to see if they could help us. they figured how to make it work out by working closely with the city and a civil engineer. They were professional, never late, always in constant contact with us throughout on a daily basis. They were able to finish the project faster than what we expected. They were able to exceed our needs and expectations. If you are looking for a one stop company that is on time and professional we reccomend De Marco Builders Inc.
