David McGee and his crew did a great job on our egress window replacement and the concrete well. The team communicated to me every step of the way, and were a pleasure to work with. I really appreciated the attention to detail.

Great communication and follow through. Completed the job a day early, communicated daily on when they would be arriving to continue the work. From my experience most contractors do a pretty poor job at communicating during a job but we were very happy with the process and the finished work and would absolutely hire again as well as recommend to friends.

Dave and the whole team were friendly, communicative, and in general great to work with. Never felt any upsell pressure and I was confident they knew what they were doing. I won't hesitate to recommend them to friends!

Dave took the time to explain the project, gave us a detailed budget, and had great communication along the way. His team is great - they were totally unobtrusive and kept me informed of the next steps in the process along the way. I can’t recommend them highly enough! Amazing team.

I normally get more than 2 quotes for any contractor services but I felt so confident after meeting Dave for the 2nd quote that I looked no further. He offered great information when walking through my property and shared lots of detailed explanations and options. I never felt oversold on anything as Dave was just as quick as me to say "you probably don't need that" or "you can probably do that yourself if you want to save some money". His price was a bit higher than my first (verbal) quote, but I didn't feel the first quote included anywhere near the attention to detail of Dave's explanations. Once I received his written estimate, I was sold. I've been doing a year of home renovations and have seen a lot of quotes but this was the MOST detailed and helpful by far. I so appreciated the honesty and transparency. As for the work, it was done as expected and looks great. Dave even called me after the first day on the job to let me know that my foundation was made of cinder block (not common) and could cause some slight deviations from the estimate but that he didn't expect any time or cost impact and just wanted to be transparent. Highly recommended!

Dave McGee and his crew did a great job getting my basement windows installed. Some of the windows were egress and he knew exactly where to cut the concrete to fulfill the egress requirements. They helped select and orientate the windows as well as the window well(s) and finished the install with caulking, spray foam, and exterior trim. The job was done as scheduled, quick and clean. Definitely recommend his services.

I highly recommend Dave and his team. He was friendly, knowledgable, and forthright in the initial consultation. Dave provided the suggestion to install a bigger window--I hadn't realized that it was an option. And I'm so grateful for that suggestion. His friendly and professional team did excellent work, cleaned up the site, and completed the job in a timely manner. That part of the basement went from a throw away space to my new office. I'm so grateful for the transformation of the space!

It went well. I just did not like the sawing done in the basement because it left sawdust, but the work was very good.

Dave and his crew did an awesome job! We asked them to do a custom concrete window well and install a large 46" window for our dark basement room. They were punctual, cleaned up everything, and had a great attention to detail. The window and the window well are exceptional and we've been loving all of the great light it's letting into the new bedroom. Great job Dave!

Excellent! he went above and beyond in helping to solve a couple issues common in old Portland houses. I had to egresses dug out for basement windows. I would highly recommend David.

He's even offered to continue to advise us as we move on to the next stages of our project. Would recommend him to anyone! We are very pleased with our new entryway and windows.

David was extremely helpful on our first consult. David and his team showed when they said and were very conscientious of our home. They were willing to work with our budget and gave us great direction to prep the space for their work, so we could save money. They finished early and helped arrange for our carpet to be restretched by another trusted contractor. We are so happy with the results.

From day 1, working with Dave was comfortable and easy. He wasn't the lowest bid I got, but he was the only one who seemed to understand what I actually wanted and quoted me for that. He even gave me a few ideas of price for slightly different sizes/shapes to consider, which was helpful. I am a woman under 30, so I get a lot of contractors talking down to me or trying to skate things by- which Dave didn't do at all. The window itself is exactly how I imagined, and now a few months in and there are no leakages. Totally happy with the product. His subs kept the place neat and tidy- including in the carpeted bedroom. The reason I put a B for punctuality was because this project was finished about a month later than expected. It was pretty annoying to have a pile of dirt sitting there for so long, and it meant another project didn't get done before the rains set in. BUT! The issue was the special ordered steel well, which came weeks later than expected. This was right around the time of Trump's steel tariff's taking effect, so while it was disappointing, it wasn't really surprising. Dave kept me appraised of the situation as he kept on top of his supplier, and he offered (I didn't even have to ask) for a discount considering the delay. Now that's what I call good business.

We had a terrific experience with David and his crew. Expectations were completely aligned, and timelines were met. Even when we added scope to the project, David was most accommodating. Highly recommend.

David McGee did an excellent job installing our basement bedroom egress window. He is the best in the business! Highly recommend! Our job was more complicated than most. We had brick stairs blocking the window site, and underneath this was extensive dry rot in the rim joist and mudsill. He corrected all of this. He then installed a top-of-the-line Marvin Integrity fiberglass casement window. A concrete window well was constructed. The base of the window well was lined with attractive river rocks for improved drainage. On the interior, a window frame was completed, and dry wall was installed. Finishing touches included hand brocading the dry wall to match the textured ceiling. Great job!

We got a number of bids to put in a new egress window in our basement. While Dave was not the cheapest, his choice of materials and methods along with his experience and knowledge made us feel comfortable in picking him. The project started a little late because they were finishing up a previous one. I wish he was a little more proactive in letting us know, but he did quickly respond when ever I contacted him. Our house had a very difficult foundation to cut and Dave's team did a great job with it. It required more time and materials than initially bid but Dave worked with us in a very fair way on the final price. The finished window and well looks great and we are very satisfied with Dave's work.
