They did not tell us over the phone there is an $89 upfront fee, even if no work is done.

They called within 10 minutes of my posting a request on their site. Technician showed up the next day. He replaced my broken garage spring, he serviced the door, which had not been serviced since it was installed in 2010. It is working like a charm now! So quiet and smooth.

Top notch, above-and-beyond, service. Polite service tech arrived on-time in spite of wintry weather. Recommended replacement of existing opener on one door, as well as replacement of rollers and bearings on the other manual door, to make it easier to raise and lower. He made an error in measurement of the new opener install, which delayed the overall project, but he troubleshooted and provided another better quality device for the same price. I am thoroughly satisfied with the outcome, and one year on, the opener continues to operate flawlessly.

I received a quote from one of their techs and put 50% down on the work. The next week they called to tell me that they needed to remeasure to make sure that they ordered the right doors. Two weeks later when they arrived to remeasure, they informed me that their tech had misquoted, that they would not honor the original quote and I could either accept the new price or get my money back. I do understand that people make mistakes and I would have accepted that, however: 1. They were not truthful on the phone about their reason for coming back out. 2. They never apologized for the error. 3. They failed to rectify the issue quickly and instead wasted two weeks of my time. My problem is not with the error on the quote, but rather their lack of and misleading communication. If they had called the next day and clearly explained the issue and apologized, I would have understood. By the way, their new quote increased by over $1000. I went with a different company that I found on Angie's List instead which was lower than D&L's original quote (prior to the over $1000 increase).

The workman did a very thorough investigation to figure out what needed to be done to fix the problem and fixed it wonderfully.

Eric explained the job and various options for product. My faith in him was true. He did a good job for a fair price.

Excellent! On time and everything done as agreed. Our detached garage door, first installed in 1942(!) was too heavy and cumbersome for my wife and I to haul away by ourselves. Of the three contractors recommended by Angie's list, only D&L of Portland, Oregon, offered to take responsibility for disposal of the old door and include everything along with installation of the new door, in one, competitive, invoice. Also, Anthony, D&L's technician / installer / salesman struck me as a quick-thinking, solution-oriented, efficient, straightshooter. Anthony never gave me any "sales BS'" - only staight, factual answers. He understood all my questions and concerns and proceeded with an installation that developed as well as it is good-looking. I am impressed!

I'm really bad about leaving reviews, especially if I'm sort of neutral about the service. However, this company definitely deserves one. I called Friday to set up a time to get an estimate (I was expecting some time the next week) and they scheduled me for the next day-Saturday! They gave me a 3 hour window. I called back when I realized I could not be home the last hour of that window (I expected to be scheduled for a different 3 hour window a different day) and he shortened my standing appointment to a 2 hour window! The man (Eric) who came on Saturday (and was well within the 2 hour time window) was personable, knew his trade very well, and had a great sense of humor. I expected to get a quote and be scheduled for service another day. He had a garage door opener replacement in his truck! Now I expected it to be very expensive, since it was the only model he had handy. It was only $400 for the service call, new top-of the-line garage opener and remote, and labor to install completely. Eric even happily showed me simple instructions to program any future remotes or keypads purchased. I will definitely call this company and request Eric for all of my future garage door needs!

Called Sunday at noon. Spoke with a very professional receptionist who took all my information in detail and said I would receive a return call shortly. Thirty minutes later I had a call from the repairman asking if arriving in 30 minutes word work for us. We said yes and he was here right on time. He had all the parts necessary to do the repair and was completed in no time at all. A wonderful company to do business with !!

I called up one day and scheduled a time for the following day to receive a bid on installing a door, but then at the scheduled time no one showed up. About 20 minutes after the appointment time I called to see when I could expect someone, and the person answering the phone said that they had a record of me but not of an appointment. Apparently they have some problems actually scheduling someone to come out for an agreed upon appointment. What a waste of my time! I won't be calling them again.

Guy took the time to understand our goals and the existing locks and garage door equipment so he could help us understand our needs. His options and recommendations focused on what would best meet our needs - in several cases providing much less expensive options than we thought necessary. We scheduled the service to be done in 2 visits so the right person could handle the appropriate work. Both Jerin and Victor were prompt, efficient, and clear in explaining what would be done and the associated costs. They cleaned up after they were done and there were no surprises. We would not only refer them to friends and neighbors, but we would call on them again if the need arises.

I had a new front door put on and I needed him to key the lock and he ended up taking apart the whole lock and he had promised me to put it back together and then he blamed it on the part being bad. He finally got it keyed, but it wasn't fixed and I had to call another locksmith to come and fix it. He was here for 3 hours and he didn't want to deduct anything from the bill because he couldn’t get it back together, he got upset.

The garage door spring broke, trapping my car inside the garage late Saturday afternoon. When I called, they scheduled the appointment for Sunday morning - who does that anymore? The technician called Sunday am to confirm, told me he'd call when he was 10 minutes out (and he did!). He was so pleasant and very professional - explained everything and went right to work. My car was free in an hour. Not only did he fix the door, he also did my annual garage door track maintenance, and about a 20 point inspection on the door and mechanisms. He went over everything with me, didn't try to upsell any additional products - just an all round great experience. They are definitely my go to guys for all future garage maintenance! Fixed both quickly and well.

They came out to install a part for my garage door and was charged $78 dollars for the part alone. I called the garage door manufacturer to find out how much that part originally was and they told me $8. That is 10X more than normal. I do not mind a company making a profit but give me a fair price. Everything else was extreamly resonable and I am pleased with the results, my only complaint is how much I was charged for that part.

I called and he came out the next morning. He was punctual and called us when he was on his way. He arrived, took one look at the door and knew exactly what the problem was. He also gave us pointers as far as maintenance. Overall we had a good experience.

I called this company first thing in the morning to describe the situation. The service person was friendly, gave me an estimate for services and said they could come out to take care of it that same afternoon. He called promptly when he said he would, was able to extract the broken portion of the key from the lock and luckily everything worked and the whole door knob didn't have to be replaced. I was charged the same amount that I was quoted when I first called. I would recommend this company to others needing this kind of service.

Guy was very prompt to give me a written quote and explanation of the work required. Upon acceptance of his bid, it was easy to schedule the job. The work was conducted in a professional and timely manner with no variance from the quoted bid and the finished invoice. It was nice to work with Guy and I will definitely use his services again.
