Given their years of experience, the D-Lux team performed each task with professionalism and a commitment to excellence. For the multiple day effort, they worked with us to develop a schedule, they explained each step, and at the end of each day they explained their progress. They always arrived on time and worked very hard to complete the job on schedule. They aided us in selecting the final stain color and the resulting floor exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend D-Lux for resurfacing wood floors because of their quality craftsmanship and exceptional finished product.

They were really good. We would definitely use them again. Our insurance covered it. Servpro had to come out and do the drying of the boards and everything. I think that they are pretty reasonable compared to other places. We had some issues where they didn't have a few things quite right, but they were very happy about coming back and changed stuff. It wasn't the boards, it was just the veneer that they put on top, and they missed a few spots, and it was because of the way that the sun hit the hardwood floor. They came back and fixed it. It was perfect. They were pretty responsive. We have hardwood floors downstairs and if we do the upstairs, they will be the people that we will call.

They were also suppose to refinish over 2000 square feet of hardwoods but they kept delaying and I had to call them to find out they were delaying. Also, I needed some repair and they put me at the bottom of their list and the repair took maybe three to four hours but after a two-three week delay.

D Lux Hardwood Floors rescued my floors after another flooring company who had been hired by a general contractor as part of a kitchen remodel, abandoned us after only completing 2/3 of the job. My floors were left in disrepair, having divets, exposed nail heads and crevices between the floor boards. I called D Lux and explained the situation to them and within 2 hrs I had a professional come out and assess the problem. Two days later D Lux came to my home and finished the floors, correcting the problems and applying a final finish. They did a beautiful job and were very professional. I would give them my highest recommendation and plan on using them in the future for any floor needs. They are the best!

We knew we had a significant problem with the floors in this 1925 home and got several bids. We had an immediate and significant level of confidence in dealing with Doug Lux of D-Lux Hardwood Floors. He was very professional and did not exaggerate the probable conditions of the subflooring but was straight forward in describing what they could be and "confident" in his ability to address them. He had correctly anticipated the problems that were uncovered and provided us with photos of the problem areas to obtain our approval before continuing. The contrast of the before (including the subfloor porblems) and after pictures is absolutely amazing. He and his crew did a truly outstanding job and did so on a very timely basis. We are so proud of our floors and would recommed Doug and D-Lux Floors without reservation.

A detailed proposal was promptly emailed after inspection. The contractor actually covered more sq. Footage than proposed, but stuck to the proposed price. They are not cheap, buy you really get detailed quality work.

The work crew arrived early Thursday morning, went over exactly what to expect and were extremely patient with all of our questions and concerns. Once the general job was outlined, the crew patiently applied several different stains to our floors in order for us to know exactly how the color would turn out. They listened to our ideas and ended up custom-mixing two colors in order to achieve what we wanted. The first day saw them sanding every inch of our floor, after completely protecting carpets and doorways with tape and plastic drop cloths. They initially thought they would be finished around 4 pm, but stayed till nearly seven in order to get the stain on -resulting in a shorter period of days for the job to be completed. (Due to the layout of our home, we had to be "evicted" from the upstairs entirely. They had great empathy for our situation and worked diligently to get us back in as soon as possible). The results were amazing - even before the stain was applied! Once the stain was on, the floors were left to dry overnight and they arrived early Friday morning and attacked the job again. Efficient and professional they were in and out within just a few hours. Before leaving we were once again briefed on what to expect and reminded to stay off the floors completely so as not to damage the work and prolong the project. Because they wanted to accommodate our needs, they assembled a SIX a.m. crew to come in Saturday morning and put down our final coat. This was a big deal since going into the project we had accepted their schedule and thought we would be camping in our basement till Monday!! In our experience with contractors - this company has been a most pleasant surprise from start to finish. The sales person who originally bid the floors to us came by to check on things and each member of the crew was professional and informative on every step of the project. We feel this company went above and beyond in performing an outstanding job for us. They are very "old school" in their approach to customers, and sadly something rare in our experience with home repairs.

It was great. I just decided not to do the project at this time. They set up an appointment and came out and measured. The bid was great. I just decided to do countertops and not do the floors at this time.

They did a really nice job with blending the new hardwood with the existing floor. They showed up when they said they would. Our family went on vacation while they worked on our floors. When we came back, the dust was very minimal, as promised. I like the company because Doug Lux is the owner, his son Nick did the demolition and installation. When its a family business that has a good reputation, they don't want to ruin it. That's why I trusted them. This is the second time I've used the company, and I've been pretty happy with their professionalism.

They were good and are very well known. I rate them highly. I would use them again in the future if needed.

The work took place between December 2009 and February 2010. It cost $6000 or $7000 and I don't remember the exact price. I loved the flooring as it was beautiful. They did a very nice job and there have not been any issues at all.

The quote was on the higher side. The job involved refinishing the floors and making them look great. The person who came out was Doug and his last name was Lux. He was extremely professional and very, very polite. I know he would?ve done an exceptionally good job, but he was expensive.

I must say that the finished product looks great and very professional even though I know nothing about how the actual installation process went. Due to a price error on the part of the restoration company, I talked at length with Tami, the accountant at D-LUX, and was very impressed with her knowledge, her helpfulness and her patience in dealing with the problem. Over all, I was very impressed with D-LUX and certainly recommend them highly to others.

We recently hired D-Lux Hardwood Flooring to refinish the wood floors in our new home. We had to move the start date of the job several times due to a delay in our closing on our new home, but they worked with us and were able to fit the job into a very small window of time between when we closed on our new house and had to move out of our old house. They worked over the Easter weekend to ensure that the job was completed in time for the floors to cure before our move date the following Thursday. They worked all day Saturday and Sunday, then returned the next Tuesday for the last coat of finish. The job was completed on time, due in large part to their willingness to work through the weekend. While the refinishing was being done, the crew took great care to keep the dust level down and clean up after themselves at the end of each work day. The floors look fantastic and we will be hiring them again to put on our shoe molding once we get the base molding painted. We felt the price was reasonable for the square footage involved, and we are more than pleased with the result.

Went fine. The bid was a bit high, but they accepted my counteroffer and performed as they said. The floor looked very nice. They even let me pick up the baseboard material so I could paint it ahead of time (would have been more difficult to paint after installation). They even knew how to compensate for the less-than-flat wall surface the baseboard needed to be attached to, making the final look about as good as it could be made.

They did excellent work. They were knowledgeable and through and very easy to work with. I would highly recommend them and use them again if I need to.

The floors look amazing! The re-finishers worked with me to find exactly the right color for my floors. They were patient and knowledgeable. When the color was chosen, they told me exactly what to expect. When we looked at the finished product, we were very pleased with the quality of work, the responsiveness of the office staff and the re-finishers. We would recommend them unconditionally.

This is the second time I've used D-Lux for my houses. They have proven themselves not only to be the top notched in the Portland area, but some of the most professional and caring people I have ever met. I will no longer use those other HACK companies on my projects again. These are the people you should use for your project. On time, Quality, and Great Customer service.

The D-Lux team was excellent. We were in Arizona before the move so we coordinated with D-Lux through our real estate agent. D-Lux did a great job evaluating the floors on the main story and covering alternatives on the stairs and top floor (in case the wood underneath was in bad shape). Our real estate agent actually gave the D-Lux team the keys to the house to begin work before we arrived, since we were driving to Portland from Phoenix. The D-Lux team was efficient, thoughtful, trustworthy and did a beautiful job. They tore out the carpet, and refinished the floors and stairs, and replaced the sideboards. Even though they had an unexpected departure of a team member, the rest of the team did overtime work in order to make sure that the floors were completed before our furniture arrived. They went above and beyond the call of duty and the floors turned out gorgeous. We are so happy with the quality of their work and the professionalism of their team.

I called for an estimate on hardwood floor repair. I only wanted a section repaired. They were very hard to get a hold of in the first place, they came out and said that they would have to refinish the whole floor if they were going to repair a section. I didn't want to do that, but asked for an estimate on that anyway and never heard back from them again.

Overall we are satisfied with the job, and it looks fantastic but there were some bumps along the way. Their bid was much less than two other companies so we went with them. The installers showed up on time but were not prepared to glue the floors down as we had specified. They were going to float them. We insisted on glue-down (to avoid the ''ticky-tacky'' sound of some floating floors) and they tried to have us change brands. We insisted on the Kahrs brand that we selected already, other brands don't look the same. They went away and came back in the afternoon and started the installation. It took about 5 days to complete. Much longer than a floating floor install but this is understandable. They were not experienced with glue down but the floors look great. The moral of the story is: you have to be on top of what the contractors are doing. If we had just given them the keys we might have ended up with a floating floor or a different brand than we wanted.

Dennis and his crew very professionally installed the flooring and rebuilt the staircase with hardwood. The results are enviable. These guys are real pros. We could have had this job done for less by someone else, but not with such quality of workmanship and materials. We couldn't be more pleased with the results.

I called the company for an estimate and Mike Petrarca came out and measured the area. I was to get a quote within a week. I never got a quote. I called several weeks later to see what the problem was, and they were going to call me back. To this day I have not heard a word from anyone at the company.

Overall the experience was very disappointing. D-Lux installed the floors in our last home and we were very happy with the work. Unfortunately, the installers on this job seemed inexperienced and unwilling to make adjustments. We decided to cancel the job because we lacked confidence that the outcome would produce basic craftsmanship.
