Custom Wood Flooring did an excellent job installing our hardwood floors. We had to match existing floors on both sides of the room and they could not have done a better job. The new floors look great and blend seamlessly with the older floors. They completed the work in a timely manner and were so easy to work with.

Received a competitive bid for my project and decided to go with Custom Wood Flooring. Sometimes, you get what you pay for. The installation included 1 wall of baseboard installation and the rest the walls had existing baseboards that only needed to be reinstalled. I was told that they could not match the existing baseboard, which was an outright lie. I believe the installer grabbed the wrong size and was too lazy to go back and grab the correct one. On top of this, Custom Wood Flooring broke a pedestal sink during installation. The owner then emailed me saying he would not have done anything different were they to do it again. He did offer a $200 credit to replace the sink, that might cover the cost of the sink, but will not cover labor. In the end, I went with a cheaper option, and the quality of work showed. The floors are installed but some of the visible holes for nails were hastily covered up. I can forgive a company for making an honest mistake and breaking a sink. Installing wrong sized baseboards and not taking ownership of breaking a sink is inexcusable. I will not be using Custom Wood Flooring again.

They removed a small section of damaged hardwood floor, and replace it with new hardwood. Sanded and provided 3 coatings. The team did a very nice job.

This team does not use any dust catchers. Dust got everywhere, on my dishes behind kitchen cupboards, on plants on the 2nd floor. He promised to seal off the kitchen cabinets and upstairs. This was not done. He has 3 ladies who come and dust afterwards who get about 75% of dust. A problem from the dust while applying the floor finish. The main hallway and living room had over 100 pieces of sand/ grit and hair that was caught in the floor finish. It has taken me 2 months to fix the floor finish. Also, I asked for Semi Gloss finish, but got a satin or matte finish. The owner seems to be a nice guy, but he does need to get better equipment and watch his teams for better quality jobs.

The project went very well. Randy started and finished the project on time. There were no budget overruns, the project cost was exactly as was bid. Randy said he would match the new floors to the patina of the existing adjacent floor as closely as possible and he went to great lengths to do so. He did not charge any extra amount when he suggested and later screened/ slightly sanded the existing floor, finishing it with a coat of Bona Traffic added a brown tint to match it better with the new floor. His chemistry major came in handy in this very tedious staining/matching patina process. He further documented the entire process, emailing it to us for future reference. There was some painters tape residue left on certain spots from taping during the screening and coating process. Randy came back promptly to review those areas and promised to return to touch up. Randy, as I previously stated, came highly recommended by friends in flooring business and is absolutely top notch. We are glad we hired him to install our floors!

Randy and his team were amazing. From the very beginning he was very honest and forward about what he would be doing and had many suggestions along the way. He was also very accomodating to many of our and quot;special touchesand quot; that we wanted in the floor and stairs design. It was a large job and they stayed exactly on schedule and actually came in below the original estimate as Randy was able to obtain some discounts on his supplies along the way. His team was very courteous to our entire family as we frequently checked in and moved about them. We were having other contractors in to do work and they were very flexible to allow all teams to get their work done efficiently. The estimate was ~1/3 less than all other estimates, however I had known people who had seen his work and could give me his background and experience (which is quite lengthy). I was a bit leery since it was the lowest bid, but the end results are amazing! I've had hardwood floors installed 3 times before and I can easily say this is the highest quality (at the lowest cost per sqft) job that I've experienced. I would highly recommend Custom Wood Flooring to anyone looking at hardwood flooring installation in the future. Randy has a wealth of experience and delivers a great product.
