s Columbia heating/cooling was referred by my utility company. I wanted to have A/C installed. I made an appointment they came out gave an estimate. I signed the contract and set the appointment when they would do the work. The day came and they were a no show and no call. I had to call the office three times to see what was going on. I had someone sit at my house all day long waiting for them. Someone eventually got back to me saying they would be there later in the afternoon. Again no show or call. That night I called again and got another person who said I had to talk to Adam. I left Adam several messages and then called the office the next day to see what was going on. They said someone called in sick and would reschedule the appointment. The next appointment was better and I finally got the A/C installed. I asked for discount and a new contract reflecting the date changes. They gave a 200.00 discount for having me wait all day. The new contract, I had to ask for four times. I called the office and someone by the name of Karen was rather rude. It was not a good experience.. Oh did I mention that they had to cut a whole in my wall, which took more scheduling and communication to repair. It was not a smooth job or experience. Even though they did give me a discount after I had to ask, I was not impressed by their customer service. I think with all the technology in the world, Columbia heating should know to use a phone and respect their customers enough to use it.

When they first showed up the crew that came out did not have any plans to work from for duct sizes or locations of vents or furnace unit. Then they used a piece of sheeting that I had stained for using under the eves and put it directly ontop of the roof joist and installed the furnace ontop of it leaving no room for insulation. Called next day and asked why they did this and they said that the framing contractor usually provides this. So I asked why did you not ask in advance or communicate, no repsonse.They then proceeded to install the exhaust fan duct work and installed the wrong code size. They installed the fresh are vent right next to the plumging, code violation. Took me over a month and 5 emails before they would come out and correct the inspection correction notices. Later I had to have the water heater tested to make sure that it meet the energy trusts energy efficiency standards and that is when I found out the water heater needed a condensate drain line. Called them up to get them out to install this and again several emails weeks later get them out and instead they tell me that I don't need to condensate drain line, but the pressure relief. I then sent them home as they did not know what they were doing. I then requested a meeting with the perosn of coordinates all the work. Got a date and time, they did not show up. Finally had to call Carrier and complain to them and then Columbia started to become responsive. This is the short of all the issues that I have had, there are a lot more just not that big.

Overall went okay. New furnace is woking well. There were several loose screws left on my garage floor including one under my car tire, yet I did manage to get them all. There was an issue with 'orphaning an adjacent appliance' yet this was corrected. They did work on a Saturday so I could be available for the installation and this was appreciated.

Simi and Ron arrived on time and started working immediately. The old equipment was removed quickly and cleanly. The new equipment was installed quickly and very professionally. The job site was cleaned up thoroughly. Simi covered the operation of all of the units completely and reprogrammed our thermostat to make full use of the new furnace and AC. He also covered routine maintenance and service completely. I do not expect to replace the furnace, AC, etc in the near future, but I would highly recommend them for service to others. I most likely will use Columbia Heating and Cooling for annual tune-ups.

We had a ductless heat pump installed in two buildings. We saved a lot of money. The heat pumps work fine. We did have a problem with one of them, and Columbia Heating and Cooling sent out a technician and fixed the problem. It was on warranty so there was no charge. We do like the heat pumps.

I think they did a good job with the furnace. We did have some scheduling troubles. By the time they got there, they sent extra men to ensure the job was done quickly and they made up for it.

Onsite on the day scheduled, all work and inspections completed within about six hours. Great job. Would recommend them highly.

The service went well. The hot water heater turned out to be beyond repair, and he gave good advice on what to do next. I don't really have a frame of reference for how reasonable the price was but he was here for quite a while so I can't imagine it's too far off. He was very nice and courteous, a positive experience all around.

They do a good job, they come and service my heating and a/c unit. They are also very punctual, I will use them again in the future.

Excellent - couldn't have asked for better service. I don't know if they are the cheapest, but I will use them because of their knowledge and professionalism.

Columbia offered a competitive price and a robust system design and we chose to go with them. They had come to fix our AC unit a couple of years prior and proved themselves to be very knowledgeable and friendly. They sent out teams to complete work as scheduled and were friendly and efficient at getting things done on site. They took the time to explain the new system once it was installed and asked about venting locations before punching holes. On the water heater, Columbia again had a good price and there are no problem with their installation. Because our project was split out into several phases we needed to coordinate with Columbia at times and we also had some questions occasionally about fireplace venting etc. - for these kinds of things, we found Columbia slow to return phone calls and we often had to follow-up multiple times or ask their office staff to follow-up for us to help get answers. When we did get through, or get a response - they were helpful and willing to stop by to check things over with us. Columbia did a good job, their guys were friendly and knowledgeable, they always showed up when scheduled and were on time, they did exactly what they said they would, and they offered a great price to do it all. Better responsiveness/customer service would be a plus when you have questions, but if you know what you want and just need the job done well by competent, friendly staff - they definitely deliver.

No follow through at all by the company.

Our furnace went out sometime during the day and by the time we got home and discovered this it was after business hours. I was able to coax it into starting again but suspected a faulty switch and was worried it would fail again. I looked up local services and called Columbia's at about 6:30pm or so. Someone answered the phone right away and got a description of the problem (heat was out, furnace was blinking an error code, have it running again but don't trust it). They asked if we wanted service that night or wanted to wait. Since this is our only heat source, I asked for service that night. I was told I'd be contacted shortly, and he took down my name, address, and contact numbers. No one called me back. It's now the next morning and I am calling someone else. The person that answered the phone was extremely polite and professional, so I will give them that much. But to not return a call for someone whose heat failed, not even a "we are too busy we can't come out tonight" call, is just rotten service. UPDATE: I did finally receive a call back on the morning afterwards. I informed them that they were too late, and that I had made arrangements for someone else to do the repair work. The person who called me said that the service technician "had tried to get a hold of me all night". The whole reason I give both my cell and home phone numbers is to lessen the likelihood of "can't get you on the phone" problems. Neither phone rang all night long. So, now we know that at least one of their service techs is both unprofessional and a liar (and a bad one at that).

From start to finish they have been a great company to work with. Mike (the owner) came out to give us a bid on the job and came up with a creative solution none of the other companies came up with. It was a good solution and also saved us quite a bit of money. Mike's work crew did a very nice job installing everything and were very polite and pleasant to work with. They were thorough and cleaned up after themselves. They took out our old heaters and recycled them for us, so we didn't have to hassle with them ourselves. I would highly recommend working with them. From top to bottom, everyone in their company was courteous and professional. They do business the old way - a handshake and a promise to complete the work until you're satisfied.

I have used this company numerous times in the past. The tech that I liked no longer worked there, but the one they sent was very professional and seemed to be very thorough. Luckily, there were no problems, so it was a routine tune up.

.They were very neat and clean. The only thing we questioned is that when we had the inspector come out and inspect it after it was done, he said that where they connect, there was some air coming out through the vents and there was some cobwebs in the garage and he said that it was up to us whether he should pass it or not. If we want them to come and check it he could put it down as fail. We asked him to do that. They came out and they said that they never had an inspector do that or question their work before. They said that the inspectors are all pretty much like that. They pasted it a little better and we had the inspector come out and he said that it was fine. I don't know whether they fixed it or not. But it was satisfactory. They did help us out to fill out the paper works, our rebate, and tax our credit. I would use them in the future.

Prompt, responsive, very professional, good price for new furnace. We have had a maintenance agreement with them for about 10 years and their price has always been competitive.

I had no complaints. They were professional and competent.

Called on Monday, repair person came the following day. He explained why we were having some problems and the maintenance we should perform to prevent them in the future. Cleaned condenser and adjusted air cleaner.

I met Michael (the owner of the company) and a company teck. at my house construction site to look at a Geo Thermal system installation. We spent approximately an hour going over the details of the project in order for them to provide an estimate. I e-mailed them a PDF copy of my home plans that same day to help them with calculations for a accurate estimate. Michael stated that he would get back to me within a week with a price. After two weeks I called Michael and he assured me he would provide an estimate in a couple of days. Two more weeks went by and still no response. I contacted them again only to have the secretary tell me they will not be bidding my project. Why does if take this company a month to tell a customer they are not interested? Why not be straight forward from the beginning if you have no interest in my project. If this is the response received to providing a simple estimate I wonder how they respond to actually doing their job. My other question is, why even conduct a business if you cannot treat all potential customers equally? This company was recommended to me but I will surely not be recommending them!

They were punctual; when I called they were responsive and came out. They explained the situation to me and explained what a heat pump was. There was a time delay between the estimate and the actual work being done. The installers were friendly, super-nice guys. They did the job, were careful about our stuff, and cleaned up their stuff. When I had question's or difficulties I called the estimator, and if I didn't get him right away he called me back in at least an hour, even if he was in his car.

Although we were satisfied the price we did not get another bed to compare it to. The company was very prompt & thorough in returning the necessary forms for the energy tax credit and the home energy refund.

They were professional and prompt and performed quality work.

Everyone at Columbia Heating worked very well and cleared up the initial problem. Unfortunately another problem developed about a month later so I called up the company that had installed the furnace. However, I was very impressed with Columbia Heating and its professional service and would use them again as well as recommend them.

They did a complete job. They did what they said they would do, did it on time, and for a reasonable price.
