Description of Work: We replaced our 15-year old furnace and added an air conditioner. The installers showed up on time, worked efficiently and were very courteous. The electrician timed his arrival perfectly and wired both units into our electrical system. They demonstrated how to operate the furnace and AC as well as cleaned up very thoroughly. The office staff is another story, however. They claimed to have scheduled a final inspection with our city but the city did not receive the call so the inspector did not show up. I called a second time and asked that I be called back when the appointment was rescheduled. No call. So I called the City administrative assistant who did get the call the second time but not the first. Now I only hope I can get the paperwork for the Oregon tax credit in a timely manner. The sales person and the installers rate an A. The office staff rate a D.

Description of Work: When I called Columbia Heating & Cooling I was asking for two things. First, I needed a gas furnace tune up at our rental house that was currently being sold and, second, an estimate for the cost of replacing the gas furnace exhaust stack on the same home. Columbia made an appointment for the tune up but said it would be at least two weeks before someone could look at the furnace stack. | |The technician who performed the tune up told the current renters, who were also my buyers, that the furnace was in such bad condition that it needed to be replaced right away, almost killing my sale of the property, but never bothered to call me with this information. | |One other requirement for the sale to proceed was to replace the corroded furnace stack. I found an Angie's List company who gave me an estimate right away and replaced the furnace stack within one week, where Columbia would have made me wait two weeks just for the estimator to look at the house. | |Because the technician was so chatty with the buyers when I was the one paying the bill, and because of such slow response to my needing the furnace stack work done, I would NOT recommend Columbia Heating & Cooling. | | |

Description of Work: Most recently they special ordered an unusual size furnace filter, very good about communicating. Other services have included working on heating system and a/c; always punctual and professional at fair prices, always within estimate.

Description of Work: Arrived on time, very pleasant interaction; I was concerned about the effectiveness of my furnace, and that I might need a new one. The service provider, thoroughly checked everything out, and told me I did not need a new furnace. He gave me some tips on improving function, and was on his way. I was happy to learn my furnace did not need replacement!

Description of Work: We purchased an electric furnace and heat pump from Columbia Heating and Cooling. We really liked them. They got us a high efficiency Carrier system that has kept our house warm this winter.

Description of Work: Fan blades were not operational on our heat pump. Ron did all sorts of testing and found that we had a failed vapor pressure switch. A bypass was all it needed because the Puron levels were not low or leaking.

Description of Work: R&R EXISTING FURNACE AND ELECTRONIC AIR FILTER WITH A CARRIER 4 BURNER FURNACE WITH A NEW HONEYWELL ELECTRONIC AIR CLEANER. THE TOTAL COST COVERED ALL PERMITS, MECH AND ELEC AND ALSO INCLUDED HAUL OFF AND CLEAN UP OF THE OLD EXISTING EQUIPMENT.

Description of Work: WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER THEY JUST SERVICED IT. THEY REPLACED THE FLUIDS. WITH THE FURNACE THEY REPLACED A PART THAT HAD GONE OUT.
