Classico Marmo

Countertops and Backsplashes, Kitchen and Bath Remodeling, Marble and Granite,

About us

Complete slab stone and Quartz fabrication, and installations. Owner is 5th generation stone worker, and has been doing stone slab fabrication full time since 1982. We do residential, and light commercial jobs. We specialize in Marble, Limestone, and Soapstone (and all of the other stones as well!). Our clients are all from word of mouth referrals (except for Angie's list). We specialize in custom work. I invite you to call us for your work- large jobs or small ones, they are all important. We also do repair work, either in our shop, or on site if needed. Your broken table, or other stone may be salvaged. Just call and I can tell you if it is possible (I have personally repaired "Humpty Dumpty" at least 1000 times, and most of the time you couldn't tell he fell off of the wall!) I could go on, and on, and on, but I think you've read enough. For more info on our services, just call. If you don't get thru, keep trying as my voicemail gets filled up quickly some days, or send me an email. We are a small business, and focus on the little details which take longer. The final product, and customer satisfaction are the most important factors.

Great! Smooth crew, obviously knew what they were doing and owner was on site for the entire job. Answered questions thoroughly and completely, and cleaned up nicely afterward.

Peter, owner, was very helpful, assisted me in getting excellent price on the raw material, allowed me to choose the part of slab material that looked best for intended purpose. All work completed within one week from the date slab purchased! Has a good, helpful crew. Very clean on joist, clearly experienced and knowledgeable. Perfect grout/sealant lines. made recommendations when asked for advice. Overall, very positive and personalized.
Description of Work: Secured slab material from warehouse, measured and templates bar counter with undermount sink cutout, backsplash and radiuses a 12" overhang on one end. Advised regarding options for best finished look. Installed sink and faucet hole. Modified sheetrock to accommodate (wall was not really very flat).

He did a great job at a good price. I was able to use remnants which kept the cost low. He does not do plumbing, but otherwise great counters. He had equipment difficulties so the job was a bit delayed, but I was aware of that and was not in a hurry.

I work for a general contractor and have dealt with subcontractors for 20 plus years. Now when any of the subcontractors we use performs poorly we call it being "MARMO'd". It started by having to hand deliver a check to him for the granite so he could start on the project right away in September. Nothing unusual about that, but 40 days or so later, we found out he had not picked up the granite. During those 40 days, he never returned numerous voice mails or emails. We ended up having to go to his office and wait outside until he showed up to get answers. In the end, the project turned out excellent and the customer was very happy. In hind site, we would have been better off using someone else and paying more money.

Response from Classico Marmo
Can't hit grand slams on every up to bat, but in the end our quality speaks for itself. Being the 5th generation in our family to specialize in stone work, and having been in this line of work full time since 1982 (and a couple of summers before that), and been in business since 1996 I have an excellent track record of making clients visions become a reality. Angie's list is the only advertising we have done in almost 20 years- only word of mouth referrals until fall of 2015. That alone should speak volumes about the quality you will receive from us.

At the same time that Peter was doing this small job for me, he was also dealing with the death of his father and finishing off a much larger job. So there were some delays, and when I eventually got the marble, I found that the holes for the faucets were not correctly spaced. He was most apologetic, and re-drilled the holes correctly within a day, but that meant another trip back to his shop. Still, overall I was very pleased; the vanity still looks great a year and a half later, If I had a larger bathroom of kitchen countertop project in mind, I would certainly ask Peter to work on it.
Description of Work: Peter made a vanity top for me for a half bath from a marble remnant. That is, he cut the marble, polished it, cut the hole for a drop-in basin and for the faucets, and made backsplashes.

For all of the jobs he has done we have been very satisfied. My only complaint would be that sometimes he gets busy and takes a while to get the job done.
Description of Work: We have hired Peter for three different jobs. The first was in about 2005 when he refaced our brick fireplace and hearth with rain forest green marble. The second job was in 2008 when he did a large kitchen countertop fabrication. The cost of that job was about $10,000 and took 3 slabs of Viara Gold granite. It included 2 sinks and a large island. We did not want corbels on the island and Peter invisibly reinforced it with steel bars. So far no cracks. The most recent job was in about March of 2011. He fabricated a small vanity top out of Crema Marfil marble with a single hole faucet and under-mounted sink. Peter is a perfectionist and has done excellent work on all of the projects that he has done for us. Peter did not even need to make templates for the kitchen job, he said he had done it so many times, he just wrote down some numbers and took the sink template with him. His seams are almost invisible. His edges are exquisite. His pricing is competitive with others when I got competing bids.

This was a bit of a rush project and and I was having difficulties finding the right piece of marble but Peter found a piece for me within an hour of contacting him and he put it on hold for me to go and look at. He gave me a same day estimate which was very reasonable and he finished the project right on time. The result is perfect!
Description of Work: Cut and polished a piece of Carrera marble that had to be very exact because it was installed flush on top of a credenza.

I was impressed with Peter's layout techniques. There were some delays in getting the final counter installed and finished on site with some sections that needed to be glued.
Description of Work: Peter installed 2cm slab granite (Black Galaxy and Blue Pearl) in our kitchen and bath remodel. The space was confined and unique requiring that Peter install in a creative manner. The quality of the materials and seams were outstanding. I would highly recommend Classico Marmo to my friends.

Peter did an absolutely fabulous job on my countertops. I called eight different companies (all highly recommended) to get bids and talk to them about the work. Unlike almost everyone I talked to, Peter really knew a lot about soapstone. Most of the fabricators I talked to worked on granite, loved granite and didn t want to talk about anything else. Soapstone was completely off their list. Some even told me they wouldn t work on soapstone period. Peter, on the other hand, first made sure that I knew what the drawbacks of soapstone were (I did) and then enthusiastically described how he'd approach the project. I asked lots of question (some that I already knew the answers to) and Peter answered them all patiently and accurately. He was very, very knowledgeable. In fact, he was one of only two fabricators who knew that soapstone could be split into thinner pieces for a backsplash. His price was great and he did a phenomenal job. My countertops are absolutely beautiful and every day when I look at them, I m glad I chose Peter to do the work. Plus he s a super nice guy.
Description of Work: Install slab soapstone countertops over an undermount sink and install a soapstone backsplash.
