I never agreed to an upgrade in any way nor did they say I was getting an upgrade, even though they tried getting me to upgrade. Next thing I know they sent a tech to my house to wire it for fiber optics. I had to call them several times, I've been transferred and put on hold and still they would not correct their mistake. I get so many advertisements and century link reps coming to my house to push me to get an upgrade. I am so sick of them. I'm looking for another company now.

I have free long distance. For customer service they have screwed up so many times with orders. I have very little faith in them. Customer Service is lousy. To get one order right it took 3 separate times and 2 hours and 45 minutes on the phone with them. When the order was finally completed and I had to have a service person come out only because they had sent me the wrong modem, so I had 3 different modems and had to send back 2 of them because they sent back the wrong ones. I got high speed internet and they sent me a modem that was not so I had to send that back. I think they came out because I called bitterly about paying for internet and not having it. I was not very happy. The tech that came out was great, I liked him a lot. We had something in common since I am retired from the Bell system. He had worked out of the same garage I had. The response time with three different orders and getting 3 different things was lousy. I have like a 2 or 3 year contract, not really a contract but they will not raise my price.

We've had nothing but problems from the beginning. I don't have a choice. When I moved into the house, I gave them three weeks notice. They were not ready. They sent me this thing saying, "Okay. We're all connected and everything is fine," and I had a dead phone and a dead service. Then it took them five days. So I was without internet service, after giving them three weeks in advance. Recently, they had to upgrade their system. So they demanded, "We're going to fix you all up for a better price." Once again, they told me they were going to give me service on the 16th of November. On the 16th of November, we altered our schedule and stayed home because they only gave us half a day. They said, "We would be here in the morning." Afternoon, he called, close to noon time, and said, "We're not going to be able to do this till December 3rd." He said, "We're too far behind. We've got hundreds we've got to do." I said, "So you couldn't have told me Friday? You waited until the day is half over and after we've changed everything for you." "Well, I'm sorry. We're just so overwhelmed." At 4 o'clock that afternoon, our regular service was disconnected because they had said that they were going to change to the new service and so our old one could be discontinued. So they disconnected and I didn't have anything again. So, I contacted them over three days. I am retired. So I was able to spend the time. Six to seven hours, altogether, I was on the phone, over and over. They couldn't contact me with anybody locally. It went on and on and on. So first, when we moved in and then, once again, when they changed the service, with them initiating this last one, "We're going to help you make your life more fun." It wasn't and then the amounts that they charge. I was supposed to be paying less. We ended up getting charged over $100 more than what they said, the first month. I finally raised such a ruckus that they've made adjustments. So, I'm waiting. We'll see what happens, by the end of the year. I'm part of the local neighborhood association where people write stuff about Century Link. There is probably 70 different ones and there is not one positive out there.

Description of Work: When I first moved into my house, I called to connect service. It never worked. I only had it hooked up to my tv and didn't need the phone, so it was not high priority. I thought the tv connection didn't work because I didn't know how to use it. I did call to ask them to check why the phone wasn't working, but they didn't see any problems. Because I was caring for my dying mom, I didn't have the energy to get it taken care of. When I finally threatened to cancel service, they finally sent a tech out. That is when I found out that the hard line from the street had NEVER been hooked up. When I called to get some credit for the months I never had service, they simply told me I'd waited too long and anyone could have unhooked it. While I agree that I could have acted faster, they didn't provide any service to me and refused to work with me at all over it. I will NEVER go back to them.

The provider was supposed to be there between12-4. They showed up at 445. This was an inconvenience to me having to leave work. Then the problem that they fixed ended up being a cord that I easily could have been talked through during a phone conversation with customer service. But because I had to wait for an appointment we were without cable for a week.

Description of Work: I called three different numbers for them to try and get a quote for internet service. They hung up on me three times. I finally got connected to them by calling Verizon FIOS and after spending fifteen minutes on hold while they tried to confirm my address. They told me to call a different number to speak with someone to see if they could offer me service. I had no problem with getting a quote from their online tool, but if I had trouble getting help with a sales call, I didn't expect to get any support for customer service issues. They also charged $10 a month more for a slower speed than Comcast

This provider installed internet service for me 14 months ago. The service technician did not let me know he did the work so I was not able to immediately determine when our service became active. The sales team that signed me up mis-lead me on the amount of discount available to me by being referred from directv. Without negotiated discounts my service would be over $70 per month. however with my currently negotiated discounts and directv bill combination. my service is down to $45 per month. Still well above the international average but I will say the speed is consistent and good. I have purchased 40Mb service and typically achieve 30Mb results however I believe this is standard throughout the industry. Paying a bill on line is easy, and our service only ever interrupts for very brief periods of time (maybe a few minutes and not very often) My experience with other service providers has had much longer outage periods.

They are driving me out of my mind. They are exceedingly frustrating. Their website is the pits along with their customer service. Their internet is horrible. Their speed is just a step above dial-up. Trying to get information and assistance, whether through the phone or online is appalling.

They’ve done some extensive work out here but it took them quite a while to remedy the issue. Something that I may not like is that it took them a long time to resolve problems. Their pricing is pretty good. They are people friendly but it’s like dealing with a large organization, it takes them a long time to actually respond and get the work done. My experience was that they are understaffed and they use subcontractors and some of these were not their fault because they had to go through permitting and so on but we had a problem that started in August and it took them until November to resolve it. It took a long time. They made a good effort but it took them a long time. They get back to you on the phone pretty quickly but in terms of actually orchestrating the work, it took a long time. They were pretty professional.

This company has proven itself to be the most unproffessional company that I have ever worked with. Connection on their end was after the date the quoted us, the bill was higher then was quoted to us, we requested a detailed bill to see the charges 3 seperate times all three times we were told that a new one had been sent and that we wouldnt have our service shut off or any acrudefees to the bill because of said diconects or tardiness. The last time I called customer service, after explaining the situation to the service associate she hung up on me, I called back and requested a supervisor the associate refused to let me speak to a supervisor, I hung up and called back, i again requested a supervisor and was transfered to 5 different departments before i finaly told them to cancle my service.
